When the plumber showed up about 40 minutes later, it was Simon at my front door. Late Friday afternoon, my hot water heater suddenly started leaking water all over the floor, and in no small amount. Simon lives down the street from me, right along the route I walk my dogs every day. My wife had written down the number at some point so I thought I'd give his service a try. I called; Simon answered. He was on the job at a customer's house and couldn't come right away. My thought was, if my house is actively flooding, you should come right away and go back to finish installing somebody's new rain shower. Simon explained that he would walk me through a few simple steps that would stop the flooding, which would only take a few minutes time (which is a tiny fraction of how long it would have taken him to get to my house if he were to drop what he was doing and immediately rush over). As promised, Simon provided instruction and I was able to get the flooding to stop in just a few minutes. About forty minutes later, Simon arrived at my home and set up a hose to drain the tank. He recommended that I purchase a new water heater from a supply store that he uses rather than going to a big box store in order to get a better unit, and a lower price. The supply store had closed by that time. On Saturday morning, Simon went and picked up the new unit that we had discussed. We coordinated schedules by phone, and my new hot water heater was installed and working before noon. The price I paid for the water heater was in fact better than I could have gotten from the usual suspects (The Home Depot, appliance stores, et cetera). The cost of his services was roughly comparable to what I would have paid any other plumber. Simon however, is professional, personable and perfectly competent the whole way through. He went above and beyond throughout the service; respectfully addressed me and my wife, made sure all our questions were answered and was not 'put off' by having to spend more of his Friday evening explaining everything we did not understand, did not leave little messes around where he worked and all around respected our home in addition to us. All of that is on top of him A) stopping the flooding within five minutes of my first calling him B) arriving at my home only forty minutes later (on a Friday night no less) and C) completing the removal of the old unit, installing the new unit, and completing setup about 18 hours from first contact. Plus he hooked me up with a better unit (which also has a larger tank) for a little less than I would have paid for a unit similar to the one that failed and was replaced. This review got long. One of my biggest fears is my home being flooded. I cannot express how much stress and hassle was avoided because I chose Simon's Plumbing. I highly recommend the gentleman for any and all of your plumbing needs.
