I USED to frequent the shop when they sold Guzzi and RE brands. In fact I bought a 500 Classic from them. My reason for the low rating is because I had an older Yamaha XT 350 that I took to them for some upgrades and to add an exhaust. When they were done with it, the bike wouldn't run properly. I took it back to them and after a period of time they told me it was complete. Still didn't run right. That's when they told me they were done with it. And this after paying over $800! I will tell everyone I know what a screw job I received here. read more

This is just a great shop! I LOVE MOTORCYCLES. We currently have 9 in the garage and I'm still drooling when I go to Flying Tigers! It's like an interactive art studio! You can sit on the art! Also, I am crazy about aromas and they have specialty candles in these great tins with original art. The smell of my favorite candle keeps me in my office and on task while feeling like I'm at a coffee house! The staff are so friendly that we are tempted to stop in just to visit. Eric and Theresa, the joint proprietors of this small shop, are probably the nicest and most honest mechanics you'll ever meet. I've been to about half a dozen shops in my time riding (mostly in California) and have never received such a personalized touch. I learned about the shop through one of the motorcycles they had on consignment and had posted on Craigslist. When I called, Eric took the time to have a thorough conversation and share his knowledge with me without the patronizing tone the many larger shops traditionally convey. He doesn't round up on the hourly price for labor (which is very competitive for the St. Louis area) and gives competent estimates. An example is that he estimated four hours for my job and a less-than-one-week turnaround where St. Louis Powersports and Motorrad both estimated over six hours and gave a two week turnaround. He also gives clean, readable, and clear invoices. I've been to shops where the invoice is the fourth of fifth carbon copy, extremely faint, and barely legible. If you're in need of motorcycle repair or maintenance, check out Eric and Theresa, and I hope that your experience is as pleasant as mine. read more

These guys are amazing! I was passing thru St. Louis on my cross country trip and decided to take my W650 in for an oil change. I went to pickup my bike the next morning and they found that my clutch cable was almost had almost snapped! They were so attentive to have found this. But now what? My W is a pretty rare bike and miraculously, the owner has this exact bike on their showroom. It's their personal bike and not for sale. But since they couldn't order a cable for me within any reasonable time, they took the cable of his bike and installed it on mine! Numerous phone calls to local Harley dealerships proved disappointing because they refuse to work on older bikes. I found Flying Tigers on Yelp ... talked with Brett on the phone, he offered encouraging possible solutions. I guess business is pretty good for them, and I see why. Never bought anything here, so I can't speak for sales. But the service is great and the prices are not gouging. This place will take your money, tell you to pick up your bike its ready,..You get there and it doesn't run correctly, they tell you to come back, when you do it still not running correctly they will say its the bikes fault and yours in some way??? Then they will tell you they are done trying to fix it... No apologizes, no refund, and no help and leave you stranded in front of their shop with no way to get your bike home! And thats after being a good customer that spent alot of money on the repairs! And the worst part is they did it to a 64 yr. old Grandfather who has been a motorcycle enthusiast all his life! I brought in a flat tire on the rim that needed to be changed out and when I got it back, one of the bolts that hold the sprocket on was not fully secured. It was still backed out so far it would have hit my frame. Lucky I noticed it as I put it back on my bike otherwise it would have cause major problems as it would have rubbed against and damaged the frame or even worse, it could have caused me physical harm. The initial guy I talked to came across as a nice guy until he said, ok, so the drive is on the left then? I didn't know what to say, was he kidding or just an idiot? I should have taken my business elsewhere right then. The mechanic who did the job was negligent and could have ended up getting me hurt due to his laziness or stupidity. Luckily I checked his/her work before I put the tire back on the bike. if this was a professional company, I shouldn't have to check their work. It was probably the simplest job possible and they couldn't get it right. I wouldn't trust them to fix a kids tricycle at this point. Too bad because it is hard to find a motorcycle repair shop that wont screw you... I guess I'm still searching. Don't wast your time or money on bike snobs who challenge your knowledge of bikes rather than educate. I have 2300 FB friends and they will all hear about this. On two seperate occasions they've damaged my bike with shoddy work and not fixed it. If they dont like your review on google they will repeatedly call you and attempt to bully you into changing it. Their latest trick has been to accept a tow for my bike and then tell me they wont work on it and it's sitting with the keys in the lot "so you better come get it" (they know its my only transportation). Eric specifically told me on the phone this was in retaliation for a bad google review. He really gave me a hook up on the whole deal, because my bike was being a royal pain to deal with. This place should stick to peddling Royal Enfields and scooters and ditch their repair dept. I took my bike in two years ago to have work done. Motor ran but was rough, most of all I needed it cleaned up. I gave them a budget on what I wanted to spend (was more than what I imagine they could possibly spend for what I wanted done), what I was looking for, And left it. I got a call from one of their "mechanics" a month later saying he could do a full rebuild for around that amount, so I agreed. Two years later, I'm fed up and want my bike back in at least close to completed condition... I tell them cut a bill for work done and parts purchased and I will finish it up. My bill was close to $800 for the following: Rattle canned motor De tabbed but un coated frame (4 hours labor) will rust in no time A beautiful set of rear shocks A chewed up fiberglass seat that I purchased, they hacked up My Exhaust pipes were cut in half but no explanation why $80 for mufflers that I PURCHASED that were on the bike... How can I be billed for something that was already put on by myself? It is in worse shape than when I brought it to them. They claim it's because they couldn't finish the job, but for the most part I got NO explanation. They will be reported to BBB All I can say is that I'm glad it's out of their hands, the place is only good for buying a hip t shirt and maybe a scooter but NOTHING else not even an oil change in my opinion. read more

They did a great job of keeping me informed and getting the machine back to me in much better shape than it had ever been. Picked up a new (to me) bike on Friday and rode all weekend. By Monday, I was pretty sure the bike had a clogged jet. Found this shop (which I've passed dozens of times and never noticed) while out on a ride today and stopped in - no appointment, no notice. Theresia told me they could do a 'once over' on the bike and give me an opinion. I didn't expect much more than a listen and walk around outside. However, Tim moved several bikes just to get mine in the shop and on the lift, then spent about 20 minutes going over the bike and checking it out! Tim confirmed my suspicions about the carb jets AND was able to tell me that it was an idler jet (not the main) AND that it was the front carb not the rear. Moreover, Tim was able to explain exactly how he knew this and what needed to be done. Also suggested one-step larger idler jets for improved flow and cooler running. Tim then aired up my tires, checked the brakes and sent me on my way. Great shop, great people, great business. I usually do my own work b/c I enjoy it and like to save money, but I'm planning to leave the bike with Flying Tiger next week for a carb clean and jet replacement.
