While Forever 21 had two entrances from the upper parking lot, REI has only one entrance. That second entrance and former retail space has been turned into a passageway with seating leading directly from the parking lot into the main concourse of the upper Mall level. From inside the Mall this passageway can be found between Lululemon and OraSempre, directly across from Michael Kors. REI has basically an outlet atmosphere - concrete floor, steel girder ceiling. Since I was there the day after their grand opening, there were plenty of signs announcing additional percentages off. You do NOT need to purchase a one-time co-op membership to shop in the store. Staff we encountered were helpful. Several times I was approached by an employee and asked if I needed any help finding something.

He finally measured her foot as a 5-1/2 childrens. I had to ask him to see if they had them in that size. He brought the box out and handed it to me and said "here's your shoes." They didn't even come close to fitting. I said I thought she needed adult shoes. He finally went back and brought out a pair of adult sneakers in the size we thought would fit. Again he handed me the box and said "here's your shoes". They were too small, and when I called him over, he asked if I wanted him to get a larger pair. As he went back, he stopped to talk to another customer, and then stopped to talk to another cashier behind the counter about his schedule. I had to tell him I was a little crunched for time. I just felt like the last thing in the world that he wanted to do was help us get a pair of sneakers!
