    Smokin' Buffalo pizza
    Becky T.

I've had pizza from pretty much anywhere I can get it around here, and this place ranks among the best of the best. Their variety of specialty pizzas is amazing, and you can order pizzas with a different specialty on each half. The quality of the ingredients is great, and the flavor combinations are incredible. The Bomber and Smokin' Buffalo are out of this world. The Quattro and Sriracha Southwest are also top notch. The 3-cheese bread is on our list every time. We've only ordered delivery, so I can't speak to the restaurant itself, but our delivery experience has been good. Either early or on time so no complaints there. As long as they keep pumping out these awesome pizzas, we'll keep coming back.

They are back!!! Weekly visit, unless we make an effort to go elsewhere. I love their sausage. When we lived by Ohio Dominican, I use to drive to get this pizza. It was delicious. When we moved closer in Reynoldsburg, the toppings became skimpy and the pizza was over baked. I gave multiple attempts before giving up on my shop. But I knew I loved their sausage, them and "Bob and Lee's," which closed YEARS ago. I tried them again recently during an OSU game. I ordered Flyers and my husband ordered Massey's. My son was eating on Massey's four days later.

Omg this is my favorite pizza place in Columbus. I am extremely picky about pizza and this place is amazing. Their sauce is sweet and delicious! We seem to always order a large pizza with meatballs. My kids absolutely love eating the meatballs on top first! The cheese is a good blend and the crust has the perfect crunch on the edges. We always place a phone order and because the staff always recommends a side (breadsticks or whatever) we always say yes to the addition. The pickup window is a nice touch when getting it to go.

Nice spot - clean, small seating area. Ordered a large two-topping and asked that they split it down the middle with different toppings on each half. They did that, no problem. Bonus for them taking my request for cutting it pie-style ... Like a pizza should be eaten!

This is my favorite. Old World Pepperoni pizza. Sorry not my pic but this is really how it looks.

And it's kind of on my way most days, so I did. It's in the Short North so parking can be crazy, even on a weekday afternoon. It is big and airy and open. A pretty good number of options on the menu, plus some sides and snacks, plus build your own, plus some interesting drinks. I went with the steak mezze, which has marinated steak, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc., over jasmine rice. There is an Italian-like dressing to pour on it, which I did, and it comes with a little cup of hummus and a piece of bread if you want. Those were good, not great, but made a nice palate cleanser between bites of the main dish. Which was pretty darn good. The serving size was decent. I thought the steak looked skimpy, but there was enough there to balance all of the other ingredients, and I actually ended up with some steak bits left over at the end after eating all the veggies. I know, shocker. I just had to eat them all then... I also had one of their bottled teas, which was decent, nothing great. For about the same price as Honeygrow, $15 for an entrée, it was much better quality stuff, maybe a little bigger portion, and a bigger, nicer place. Service at both was very good. Counter service, but fast and friendly and professional. There's another Sweet Green opening, in Dublin, next week. Of the two chains, it is definitely my choice, and there are other things on the menu that I want to try. I hesitate to give it five stars because, I mean, it's fast casual, thrown in a bowl. But say 4 1/2. It was darn good, it was decently priced for the quality and quality, and the whole experience was good. I'm sure I will be back.

The place itself is very nice on the inside. It is very clean and very modern, it would be a great place just to sit and relax while you eat. I got the chicken pesto parm and I walked over to pick it up. It was so tasty, there was not one bit of it left and I would very much recommend getting it if you haven't tried it before. It was made right on time for my scheduled pick up. The people working greeted me as I walked in and were very kind. I can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

I would get them again. The dill pickle potato salad was okay. But let's get to these sandwiches. Meaty, juicy goodness. The sandwich that I got was a special called the King of the Rodeo. Meatloaf, bacon, white cheddar, BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions and ranch on sourdough. OMG! Put this on your regular menu, Newfangled! My wife got the Joe Brrr, essentially a Turkey Reuben. Completely different from my sandwich but very good. No wonder everyone gives this place 5 stars.

This Sandwich Brought the Heat: My Visit to Newfangled Kitchen…read more Some meals leave you full. Others leave you talking. And then there's the Lucifer's Hammer sandwich from Newfangled Kitchen in Bexley, Ohio--which left me sweating, smiling, and seriously considering a second round. I'd heard whispers about Newfangled Kitchen for a while. It's one of those word-of-mouth places--no gimmicks, no over-the-top Instagram vibes, just damn good sandwiches built with love (and a little madness). So when I finally found myself near Bexley, I knew I had to stop in. The moment you walk in, you get a sense of what this place is all about. The decor is no-frills but full of personality--warm wood tones, clever sandwich names chalked up on the wall, and a retro, diner-meets-neighborhood-joint kind of charm. It's small inside--cozy, really--with a few tables to snag if you're lucky. But if the weather's nice, the real move is to take your order out to one of the picnic tables just outside. There's something about spicy meatloaf and sunshine that just works. Now, about that sandwich. Lucifer's Hammer. Even the name dares you to underestimate it. We're talking a thick slab of meatloaf--juicy, savory, slightly crisp around the edges--stacked with fiery jalapeños, melted pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and smothered in their housemade diablo sauce. All that gets hugged by a soft, toasted bun. One bite in, and it's clear this isn't just a sandwich. It's a full-on assault (in the best way) on your tastebuds. The meatloaf is the real MVP here--comfort food leveled up. It's hearty, flavorful, and holds its own under the weight of the spice. The jalapeños bring the fire, but it's the diablo sauce that steals the show. Creamy, smoky, spicy--it lingers long after the last bite like a good movie scene you replay in your head. But Newfangled doesn't stop at one knockout. They've got a whole lineup of meatloaf-based magic. There's the "Newfangled"--their namesake sandwich, topped with bacon, cheddar, and a tangy barbecue aioli that brings the sweet-and-savory energy. Or the "Phil's Delight," which throws in fried onions and horseradish mayo for a punchier, richer flavor profile. If you want something a little less volcanic than Lucifer's Hammer but still packed with character, "The Fancy Pants" is a solid move--Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and just enough zip to keep things interesting. And don't sleep on the sides. The mac & cheese is creamy and golden--exactly what you want riding shotgun next to your sandwich. The tater tots are crispy and nostalgic in the best way. And yes, they've got hand-cut fries too--salty, satisfying, and perfect for dipping into any sauce you "accidentally" save from your sandwich. Need something sweet to cool things down after Lucifer scorches your tastebuds? Enter the dessert menu. On my visit, there was a rotating selection of housemade brownies and cookies, and they were everything you hope they'd be--gooey, chocolatey, just-right indulgence that ties the meal together like a great movie ending. Newfangled Kitchen knows what it is: a sandwich shop with soul. No frills. No filler. Just really good food done really well. It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit, where the staff greets you with a smile and a knowing nod when you point to the hotter options on the board. If you ever find yourself anywhere near Bexley, do yourself a favor: stop in. Order the Lucifer's Hammer if you dare, but whatever you choose, bring your appetite. Grab a picnic table if the weather's kind, and take your time with it. Because sometimes, it's not just about the destination--or even the sandwich. Sometimes, you've just gotta take the trip.

That's actually a positive if you're looking for a spot where you can grab food and watch a game at the same time. In general, walking into a restaurant that's full is a good sign, so from the start I had high expectations. We were seated fairly quickly, which was great. However, it did take a while for our waitress to come over and take our order. That part was somewhat understandable, as she appeared to be the only server handling a large number of tables. While that's not her fault, it is a downside from a staffing perspective. Once we finally placed our orders, the food also took a bit longer than expected to come out. When it did arrive, though, it was hot and seemed very fresh. I ordered the loaded tater tots, which came topped with chili and cheese, with sour cream on the side. They were good overall, but I do think the chili could have been better--more meat and a slightly richer, more savory flavor would have gone a long way. We also ordered wings. Aside from a couple that were burnt, the wings were actually quite flavorful and enjoyable. Most of them were cooked well, and the seasoning was solid. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, which is always appreciated. The waitress was very kind and polite whenever she did come by, and I think most of the issues we experienced were simply due to how busy the restaurant was at the time. If we were to return during a slower period, I believe the experience would likely be much better overall. Would I recommend going here? Yes--with some caveats. If you're going primarily for the food, I wouldn't necessarily recommend visiting on a busy game night. However, if you're going to watch a game, enjoy the atmosphere, and grab some food at the same time, it's worth giving a try. Hopefully it won't be so busy that things come out rushed or slightly off, like a few items did for us. Overall, the experience was decent. It wasn't amazing, and it wasn't terrible. Aside from a few burnt pieces of chicken, most of the food was flavorful, and the atmosphere made up for some of the shortcomings.
