The long John donuts that were in the display case were all cream filled. We asked if there were any that did not have filling. She said they did not, but she would go in the back and frost one for us. We chose to pick two donuts out of the case. One was the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. unfortunately, it had sprinkles. The other donut was a glazed donut that had a raspberry filling. The donut was average. The raspberry filling was plenty full, but had a flavor not to my liking the chocolate cake doughnut was crunchy. The flavor was fine, but I expected the cake donut to be more soft. Gayle…read moreand I had pretty much depleted the Starbucks at the Lake Cabin and I wasn't willing to chance my caffeine craving at any of the local grocery stores. The small-batch Lantern Coffee was very nice. It was dark and rich and with a smooth aftertaste. Maybe next time I'll drive over to Sibley (home of the Generals) and try out their restaurant and coffee bar as well. And judging by the Facebook pictures, it looks live a very handsome and inviting place. They did a good job refurbishing this older building and it looks like a place that I would hang out frequently if I lived here.
