A few weeks ago I took my first pole class taught by a friend in the city. When I got home that night, bruised and sore, I immediately turned to online to find if there were any places by me that teach classes. Fortunately, Fly High pulled up and I was merrily on my way and now I can say I have a home base. I'm always trying to find new ways to challenge myself and lately at the gym I was stuck in the rut of repetitive and boring workouts. That isn't the case here. Geeta teaches a solid class and is supportive the whole way through. It's hard work, but at the end of the class, you'll feel like you got in a fun workout. Geeta starts off the beginner class with an introduction, leading with a comprehensive warm-up and stretches, which are super important. She continues to describe your body in relation to the pole (the leg or arm closest to the pole is known as the inside, and the other side is the outside and that is how your limbs will be referred as, no left or right) When teaching moves, she goes over it a few times, then has you mirror it and follow along. Once you have it going on one side, you have to switch sides and work the other side of your body that way you can develop your muscle all around. It's very important and definitely a skill to be worked on. At the end of the class, you put together a cute little routine, stretch once again and clean the poles. The studio is clean. She locks the door while you're in the class so no intruders and nosy bodies get in.

This was my first time trying aerial yoga, so I didn't quite know what to expect, but I quickly…read morerealized it's a full body workout. Danielle, our instructor, was efficient, making the most of our private class by showing us all kinds of fun and challenging tricks in the silks. That said, a few things would've elevated the experience. First and foremost, the silks themselves really need a deep clean. The smell was noticeably off, and that made it uncomfortable anytime we had to lift ourselves into them or get up close for certain movements. I get that it's an active studio, but the silks shouldn't retain that much odor, especially for a private class setting. We had an early 9 a.m. session, and it would've been a nice to 1) do introductions (share a bit about the studio? ask about our 6 party group? more conversational overall...) 2) offer to use the Bluetooth speaker to play music tailored to our vibe, especially since we were celebrating a birthday. We could've asked, sure, but small details like that can make a difference for a private group. Otherwise, the experience could feel a bit impersonal and solely transactional. Danielle's teaching style was quick and assertive, which works for more advanced folks, but most of us were beginners. She tended to demonstrate five or six steps at once, followed by a casual "You got it?" (we indeed did not have it, LOL) We weren't shy about asking for help, though, and I appreciated her patience when we needed things broken down more slowly, especially when it came to knots and footing that didn't feel intuitive or safe without guidance. I also think the silks could've been lifted a bit higher so that we got a more enhanced "aerial" experience. I didn't feel as though we were as lifted from the mat. Despite the speed bumps, it was a fun and memorable way to start our Saturday. Danielle and her daughter Grace were kind enough to take our pictures afterward, and we all left feeling like we'd done something bold and new. I would definitely recommend the experience (with the feedback that the studio give the silks a refresh and perhaps adjust the pace for true first-timers).

If there is one thing I wanted to try the most in the world besides food, it was reformer pilates…read more I've always heard of this studio and passed it a few times over the years, I never took the leap and signed up for a class until this year. I started my journey earlier this year and it's been roughly 8 months now and I am extremely happy that I did. The studio, firstly, is very clean and well-maintained. You can see very clearly that the staff puts a lot of care into the space through their facilities and equipment. They enforce a no-shoes policy and recommend shoes off inside, which really makes it feel even cleaner inside. The instructors here are also very welcoming and understanding of each individual. I had a neck injury halfway through the year and had to adjust the way I did some of the workouts and I was not pressured to complete a workout if I felt I couldn't. You will definitely feel supported in every aspect of your workout here as the staff is very accommodating. I have always felt comfortable and safe attending a class even throughout my recovery. I have noticed that my posture, physical health, mental health, and body have gotten 100x better. I feel stronger every day and more confident as the day continues. Doing mat pilates over the years at home, you aren't certain you are performing the moves correctly but after joining this studio I can confidently do mat pilates on the days I can't attend a class. I've since moved further away from this studio and I still make my now 1.5-hour commute to come to this studio. They have many classes throughout the week and their app makes it easy to sign up. I love their class size of 7, though it isn't 1 on 1, you still get a very similar feeling since the class is on the smaller side compared to other studios. Overall, I would 100% recommend this studio to anyone who is looking to strengthen their body inside and out. I've already invited several friends to join me and they have all loved it. Don't forget to bring grip socks though :)!

What a night!! I came here to celebrate my friend for her birthday. It was a group of 7 of us, and…read morethe host made sure we all had an incredible time, while also paying extra attention to the birthday girl. It's all in the small details; such as my friend having the center pole in front of the room and getting to choose certain aspects of our own choreographed dance. We started off with a stretch/warm up routine which was sexy on its own (haaaaay), and then we transitioned into learning some of the basics like walking around the pole, body movements, climbing the pole, and two different moves while spinning on the pole. As she taught us, we also choreographed a piece we then performed at the end. I absolutely love her confidence as an instructor and a woman; it made me feel more confident in my own ability as a very amateur attendee. Needless to say that we had a blast! The only thing is that it can be a bit difficult finding the place but I hope my review can help those who'd like to attend in the future. Directions on how to find the studio: there is a parking lot you can park in, when you get out of your car, walk towards the back that says "Building A" and the studio is on the fourth floor. Also, make sure that when you arrive, it's right on the dot because if you come earlier, you aren't allowed to come in until the class is finished and it is pretty hot in the waiting area outside of the studio. Also, also: bathrooms are located outside of the studio and you will see signs that point to them. If I were you, I'd give this experience a try with this studio! Bring your friends, or yourself - either way I'm sure that you'll have a blast. Enjoy!

I had a lot of fun participating in the class led by Jen. I plan on coming back whenever I hit the East Coast to visit home. This is a great group of ladies providing an excellent fitness experience that is unique to the Jersey Shore. The classes are small so you get plenty of time on the apparatus. My only advice to you is to warm up before class on your own because you will need it to prevent injuries. Aerial is a very intensive workout. The instructor launched straight into the class hour, so arrive early and be prepared. Wear comfortable clothing, don't wear lotion, and leave the jewelry at home. Bring a water bottle.
