    Beer outside

This is a great little brewery. I love visiting on a warm day and sitting outside with that amazing view. Their beer is quite nice and the owners and their staff are all really friendly.

What a view! If you follow me, you know I am not into beer... but my husband is! (I am also pregnant.) It was a hot summer day and we were staying in Sebago. It was only a 15 minute drive- pretty easy. All current seating during Covid is outside. We scored a picnic table that overlook the woods of Maine- just beautiful! They do have 2 people taking orders but with how many people were there and the space they had to cover it was a little slow. But hey, Maine is laid back! we were 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids were thrilled to get Snapples and we ordered pretzels with beer cheese. What an odd pretzel shape but it tasted good. Served warm but I wish it was larger based off the price. Can share that the beer cheese was a total win with the family (the kids had chips and dipped the chips in too! Went inside to use the bathroom and just love the pure wood look inside the building. Spacious bathroom and very clean. Read that the owners met at a river and fluvial means found in a river. Nice story- name now makes sense. Overall a cute place and glad we checked it out.

We were invited to join friends are this adventure. Fluvial is in a beautiful scenic location of Harrison, Me. Mostly beer, which I do not do but they did have a cider on tap! They have a handful of beers on tap, cider and wine. Light fare to snack on. Full pours or flights. Once you have ordered step outside to the beautiful hill side for some outside seating or into their cozy Yurt to protect from the elements. My husband found a new stout, Cosmic Eclipse Cosmic Eclipse, it is a wonderfully smooth stout brewed with a heavy dose of locally produced dark wheat partnered with some of the finest European Malts available. We lightly hopped this stout to allow for the fermentation flavors of the Irish yeast strain to shine through as the star. We then layered in a healthy dose of peanut butter that shines through on the back end. **Produced with Peanuts for those with allergies** I got myself a sweatshirt. They have cans to go and growlers. The bonus of being there was food truck onsite, Iron clad had some amazing tacos to go with Fluvial's on tap selection. They had live music while there and we found trivia cards to play.

The Yurt!!!! - A circular yurt with a white roof and brown fabric sides is set on a gravel foundation, surrounded by greenery and trees.

Fun place with a beautiful view. Seating outside but it if is rainy totally go in the yurt. Mainly beer but they offer a cider and wine. They have some snacks and if you are lucky a food truck will be visiting. If you find yourself in Harrison it is worth the stop. My husband found his new favorite stout.

Wonderful craft beers, gorgeous location. Nothing like a Thirsty Thursday at a local brewery. We enjoyed our visit and appreciate our friends introducing us to this place. There are tables outside or if you want to sit indoors there is a yurt where you can relax. You can purchase basic snacks and swag inside at the bar. We had an enjoyable visit with an assistant brewer and his wife. Great day, lots of beer!

    Cool ceiling in the yurt!

Loved this little brewery! We drove out on a whim, looking for something different than the Portland scene. It was a beautiful drive out and we found it easily. Parking was limited near the main building but we found out after that there is a large parking lot out back. Signage would have helped with this. The Maine building is cute and provides some seating and some games as well as a bathroom. They had about 5 beers on tap. They offer pizza and other snacks but we just had a beer. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. Out back is the real gem - the view! There are many seating areas including picnic tables, seating around multiple fire pits, a covered table area and a heated yurt! So cool! They also had a ton of yard games and more board games in the yurt. I would not consider this place accessible if you have limited mobility because it's perched on the side of a rocky hill. The vibe was cool and relaxed though. We will definitely be back!

Excellent beers with a stunning view. The staff is friendly and the snacks are good. Live music on the Weekends adds to an already incredible experience.

Staff was safe, friendly and helpful though there could have been more of them on a busy Saturday with live music. Got popcorn (a few ounces of four different kinds) and pretzels (flaming hot!) Not much to really satiate you if you are there long. The beer I had (all IPA) was ok. I liked Valley Rise the most but I'm really a hops fan and none hot that mark for me. Tasters were small for $4. All non-alcoholic drinks except water were sugary. Sweet tea OR Snapple?! Lol High Roller Lobster was there. Photo of their menu included. I'd go back for the view and friends but not during music- we had to scream and with Covid, that meant wearing masks while at our table.

In Maine from out of state and heard word of this great little micro brewery in Harrison ME. So proud to have visited within the first few weeks of opening. The owners are fantastic and friendly and built the whole place by hand. Main bar area cozy and bright. There is a open field of rolling hills out back with Adirondack chairs and tables chilling and playing. Already a good following - good for them as it is well deserved with a current flight of 4 great brews. Roll Damn Rye was our fave - all were tasty. Snacks available including cheese and charcuterie. I know they are going succeed big-time. Can't wait to see what comes next!

    Sweetest little hometown bar!

Welcome to the sweetest little hometown bar, you guys. I'm so happy for the sweetest little family. The sweetest little brew house. Sweet sweet sweet. I love how simple and thoughtful this place is. Everything is beautiful. The landscape. The view. The building. It's wonderful. I love to support anything from Harrison and although I don't drink- I will take 3 quotes from 3 patrons at my next stop to Fluvial and post them, verbatim. I did overhear "I've been here everyday since they opened 2 weeks ago." And, "Wow, that's a good beer." Both from unsuspecting non-Yelpers. So, I'll take their word for it (literally, I took their words, they have no idea I've quoted them! HA!) EDIT: HOW COULD I FORGET TO MENTION-- THIS PLACE IS FAMILY FRIENDLY!!! Bring the babies, y'all!!

I was visiting the area and looking for breweries, and this was pretty far out of my way but looked really cool so i made my way out after a hike one day. I had such a good time that I ended up making the drive and coming here two nights in a row! The view is so cool. Just sitting outside looking at the mountains, especially near dusk is so relaxing. They have really good beer -- better than some of the others in the area. There are lots of IPAs of course, but some other styles too. I always love a flight! Only the Outdoor seating is open during the pandemic, but that's great. As it gets later they light up the fire pits and it's the best. They serve snackish food, nothing I would consider "real" food right now, although apparently they do have food trucks come sometimes according to the owner. I purchased a little trail mix style snack flight and it was fun, came in a flight like my beer. My one complaint was that the second night I came I was starving and so stopped to get a burger on the way to eat there with my beer, since they don't have anything like that. One of the owners, a woman (I believe it's a husband and wife team that owns the place, as I also talked to the male owner, who just seems like an awesome person) came over to tell me that outside food wasn't allowed because they served food, and they could get in trouble with a food inspector. I don't know regulations well enough and I don't mean to judge, and I'm not one to break rules for the heck of it. but that seems unlikely that they would be responsible for people bringing outside food in, especially considering the picnic style atmosphere and the fact that they sometimes have food trucks, and that every other bar in the nearby town encourages it even though they also serve bar snacks (the burger place i found was a recommendation from one of these bars). It felt more like they just didn't want outside food because they want the business, but I really couldn't just have bar snacks after a long day of hiking and it was the perfect atmosphere to have dinner in. What about parents who bring the kids snacks and food? It does seem like a shame because I could see people hanging here for hours and drinking lots of beer if there was real food available. Anyway, seemed strange and wasn't a great start having to scarf down my burger before buying my beer and some snacks (they were getting the business either way! I'm not a light drinker and I tip well ;) ) The second night they had live music- I think it was a friday- and that was awesome. Again: Mountain View, good beer, fire pit, live music. And I brought a book because I'm a compulsive multitasker. Perfect night. Other notes: Nice clean bathroom inside, parking in the front and back (I didn't realize there was more parking in the back the first time and parked very weirdly on the front lawn. Which was fine because it's very casual). Would definitely go back! #hiddengem

Fantastic and creative brews (and "guest stars" like a Absalom cider), a very relaxing and chill vibe, a nice open space inside, and incredible seating options outside, even in the winter. Lots of outdoor activities, including x-country skiing free of charge, and plenty of parking. Not having been here before, my friend and I appreciated the clear signage of where to go for food vs. gear. We were fortunate to get to the barn before all the morning skiers arrived for lunch and were able to order and seat ourselves pretty quickly upstairs. We looked at the menu and went back downstairs to order food and drinks. The drinks we carried upstairs, but the pizza we ordered was brought to us. To pay and to order more drinks, downstairs you go. And with the free x-country ski trails, on a nice day, this place jams up pretty fast. Soon tables are packed, there are lines to get food and drinks, and to use the 3 individual non-gender restrooms. Just a few things I found a bit odd or inconvenient - 1) They have a wonderful beer selection, but don't do flights :( 2) The hybrid service model is a bit confusing and certainly inconvenient. Technology could certainly help smooth this out. 3) To pay, you either have to pay in full (and tip) when you order, or have to wait in line at the same line where people are ordering in order to pay, 4) 3 single bathrooms are not enough for the peak capacity Aside from the wonderful beer selection, the highlights were free x-country skiing with a warming hut, plenty of parking and friendly staff. This is my new go-to winter refuge :)

I had a Rueben panini with kettle chips, which was satisfying. I was honestly shocked to see a real veggie option on the menu that wasn't a veggie burger (although they have that too), so I had to try the chimichurri tofu. It was cooked well - 4 slices cut thin enough to give it a good crispy exterior. The chimichurri sauce was tasty. However, it feels like whoever created this dish has never cooked with tofu before or at least not very much. My suggestion would be marinating the tofu before cooking. The chimichurri made it somewhat enjoyable (I did finish it all!) but the flavor dissolves quickly as you chew through the tofu. I think marinating it will really seal the deal on that dish. Otherwise, the service was great, very friendly and very prompt. The building is quaint and bigger than it looks from the outside. I think my entree was a little overpriced for what I got at $23, but I digress. I see the vision and wish them success.

But it wasn't all bad--I'll start with the positives! The staff were great--super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I also enjoyed the fries, which were plentiful, and the pomegranate blonde ale, which was very refreshing. Although we didn't play, I was happy to see a stack of games on the bar. We were seated upstairs at the recommendation of the hostess. The decor was a little dated but it gave me a cozy and nostalgic feel. Now to the not-so-positives. I ordered the caprese sandwich and in the first bite, I was alarmed to feel something hard, sharp, and un-chewable. Confused, I had to fish whatever it was out of my mouth and found a small piece of what felt like some kind of wood. I realized after a couple minutes that it was the same color and texture as the toothpicks that held the sandwich together. I'm not sure how it got in my mouth--maybe a piece broke off in the kitchen and got stuck in or on the sandwich--but it was the first bite and I wasn't anywhere near where the toothpicks stabbed the sandwiches. Luckily that was the only splintered piece I found in my food, but I was very cautious for the rest of the meal. Honestly, if not for this, this probably would have been a 4-star review, but it put me a little on edge for the rest of the experience. The sandwich itself was decent--the bread was a little charred, but I actually kind of prefer that myself. Caprese sandwiches are always simple and good, as long as the ingredients are decent. The worst part for me was the price. I'm happy to pay a little extra for a great meal, but $18 for a caprese sandwich feels steep. I'm not from around here, so maybe this is normal in these parts where there are limited dinner options. My wife's tofu dinner was $23 for a small portion--back home we could get twice as much tofu for half the price. I always thought city life was more expensive, but I've learned my lesson here!

I always order my wings as chicken, flavored sawdust. I've had salmonella more than once from chicken wings, but I love them too much to stop eating them. These were cooked perfectly! The burger on special was a two patty smash burger with grilled pineapple pickle onions, and a sweet Thai chili aïoli. I added fresh jalapeño and got the aïoli on the side because I wanted to see what it was like. I was really happy. I got it on the side because there was flavorless. It was basically mayonnaise that they mixed sweet Thai sauce with and called aïoli. Also, if it's a sauce that I don't know, I don't trust it, I don't want it on anything before I try it. I think that should be like rule of thumb. But the burger was awesome, I got it with dirty sweet potato fries. Which means I put some Cajun seasoning on it so it had that sweet, salty, spicy element that I love so much. They also have this delicious French pear martini on the specials menu. It was fantastic, it was fresh, bright, not overbearing. I hope that stays on the menu for a minute because it was LOVELY.
