Maya was amazing! I didn't feel rushed at all, she took time to chat to get a better understanding of what I was looking for. I don't get my lashes done often and she was able to answer my questions and make notes in my file for future reference. The room for the service was very comfortable and relaxing. My lashes came out great and have lasted great as well! It has been almost 3 weeks since I got them done and they are shedding evenly and still look great! TLDR - My lash extensions didn't last a week despite diligent precautions and maintenance. And no, my lashes didn't shed, the extensions fell off by themselves without my natural lash attached. The technician Ingrid and the setting were awesome the set one done looked amazing but for $150 to not even have my lash extensions last a week I can't rate them higher than 2 stars which is unfortunate. As mentioned I made sure not to wet them for over 24 hours. Bought a special sleeping mask to sleep with and avoided oils and touching them roughly. But in 6 days 90% of the extensions were gone. I really wish I could come back but for the price and the results I got I've gone to other techs instead. read more

Posting a review after 3 visits. I am basing my 2/5 stars on: -lack of professionalism -carelessness -lashes falling off within 2-2.5 weeks The first visit was fine. I saw Alexandra for lash extensions and asked for specific lash curl and length and she nailed it. My only complaint was that my lashes had fallen off pretty much completely by the end of 2 weeks even though I barely wear makeup and (I think) properly clean them. I'm used to having lashes last 3-4 weeks so was slightly bummed. I did notice that she did not clean/prime my lashes before application so I thought that could be the reason but what do I know. Second visit was rough: I saw Alexandra again- told her about my lashes falling off too quickly and she suggested to 1) reduce the curl so that there is more lash surface to glue 2) it is shedding season so don't worry. I asked her to keep the curl as is because I prefer it and was a little confused with #2 because I wasn't shedding- the lashes were popping off. Then I reminded her the lash curl type and length (in numbers) and got on the bed. When I saw the result in mirror I was shocked.. the lashes were much longer than I had requested and really different from what I wanted. She explained that she used generally 12's and some 13's (looked super long and round) when I had asked for 8 as shortest to 11 as longest (more of a short cat eye). I was very confused and told her that they are way too long for me. She first tried to convince me they look great... and then she told me that she doesn't really go by numbers (but she just quoted numbers herself and actually did fine following numbers my first visit. But also.. what kind of technician doesn't understand numbers?) In the end she removed most of the long ones and replaced with shorter lashes for no extra charge. This visit too, she did not clean or prime my lashes and I ended up being pretty bare after 2.5 weeks. Overall I thought it was just a miscommunication and I was happy with my first visit + she did attempt to fix this round so I decided to book her again. Third and last visit: Alex texted me a few days before my appointment to change my time to 12:15. I got a new confirmation for a 12:15 appointment too. I arrived at 12:13, noticed that her previous client was still on the bed so I decided to stand by her door until my appointment. (To clarify, flutter lash bar is a a rented room in a commercial court where the door separates the room and outdoors.) A few minutes later, I looked in again and it seemed like they were no where near done. I decided to wait until 12:25 (10 min over time is forgivable for such delicate work) but didn't look like she was finishing up just yet. I texted her but no response. Finally at 12:33, they finished and I was let in. I mentioned that my appointment was supposed to be from 12:15 and that I booked an hour but now I only have time for 45 min. Instead of an apology, she told me she thought my appointment was at 12:30 and that her previous client had lashes that required more time. (But she was the one who told me to come at 12:15... She texted me twice in fact confirming 12:15.) Then she said "you could have texted me," which I did. And then she said, "you know you could have waited in the waiting room." But that doesn't make sense either because the waiting room is not technically hers- it's a shared room that is completely separate from her unit, on the other end of the open court, and it's not like she goes to the waiting room to collect her clients. For both 2nd and 3rd visits, I was bothered by the excuses more than anything because she made it sound like I was doing something wrong. To be honest I would not have been compelled to write a review if I felt a sense of genuine apology from her end. In terms of application, she again did not clean or prime before application but did something after the lashes were done. I'm not sure if that works the same? She also poked me in the eyeball with tweezers during the final touches which I know it's hard to not but.. dude. A day after application: I was told by a friend (who was sitting across a table from me) that she can see the base of the extensions lifting off.. that's pretty bad considering it's only been a day!! read more

My appointments with her always start and end on time and I'm always surprised at the beauty and fullness she can coax out of my short stubby lashes. I've since moved out of Oakland and the few times I've tried another artist closer to home I've been disappointed. All lash artist are not created equal. He's cute, but ugh...puppies! Hana was understanding and allowed him on my lap during our appointment bc he's a puppy. And, wants to be with me. All. The. Time. Ugh. This place is great because Hana can do volume lashes! She's been doing volume for the past 5 or so years. I had lashes done from another provider and she was able to promptly refill my lashes. However, for more than 3 weeks I have been calling, texting and leaving voice-messages to reschedule my prepaid ($50 deposit) appointment and no answers backs to confirm or options. Pricey and not the results I had asked for. Eyelashes are long but barely noticeable. Definitely not what I was going for and dissatisfied. Update: I am not expecting a refund based on their policy, but wanted it to make it known that its a wednesday, I got my eyelashes done on Monday, have not worn makeup, oils, makeup remover, have used the wand and flowed instructions religiously, and most of my eyelashes are falling off. Its my sister's wedding this weekend. I got charged 245 dollars, which is insanely pricey and im with half of the eyelashes at this point, they werent full lashes either and Ill have to purchase or do more fillings that will cost me more money. I am extremely dissatisfied and dissapointed with the quality of the work and the price for it. I've had them done by a few other people as well, but none of them ever last as long as Julie's (by a margin of ~1.5wks). Julie has always been incredibly kind and professional. Hana was incredible! She is a total sweetheart and she did a fantastic job on my lashes! I just got back from burning man and the alkalinity of the dust really broke down the bond of the glue and I was left with some dried glue chunks that were getting itchy (you know when it's itchy it needs to come off) and she painlessly removed the chunks of glue, as well as some of the extensions from my previous fill that were attached to lashes that had really grown out. while i was really excited to try flutter lash because of its great reviews, i was sadly left disappointed. pros: - booking - communication/appointment reminders - Thanh was very friendly + professional and did an extra cleaning of my lashes since i had residual makeup/strip lash glue - clean studio cons: - i left, after having spent $300, with lashes that i do not like. i got the "hybrid set" - the middle ground between the "classic" and "volume" sets - for $245. upon arrival, Thanh asked me what i would like my lashes to look like. i emphasized to her that i would like curl and length, and didn't need much volume. she told me it would be hard to get length, since my lashes are naturally short (i think calling them short is a bit of a stretch to begin with, but i said okay.) this confused me because i've had lash extensions multiple times in the past, and they have always come out long and beautiful. i still emphasized that i wanted as much length as i could get. maybe its my fault for not bringing a reference photo, or maybe i wasn't clear enough that i wanted length, but i'm incredibly disappointed with my lashes. i got these because i'm going on vacation and didn't want to fuss with mascara/strip lashes, but now it looks like i will have to anyways, and i wasted $300. maybe most of their customers want to spend $300 just to look like they are wearing mascara, but that was definitely not my goal, and i'm not sure why i've paid comparable prices in the past and walked out with beautiful lashes, done just how i wanted them, but sadly this was not my experience here. read more
