Picked up take-out on a busy Friday. Excellent thin-crust pizza. Tried both real cheese and vegan cheese... both great!

People play Frisbee and cornhole, or just chill on the Adirondack chairs. On chillier days or if staying for the evening, bring a blanket, a poncho or a coat. There are multiple vendors that sell food (pizza, vegan ice cream and such), though they do not operate every week-day. There's a drinking room inside, which is also where people congregate in the winter. They've got a large variety of their ciders on tap accompanied by helpful descriptions. The bartenders are friendly and will steer you right if you need help making a selection. There's flights and glass pours. The flights are fun - I highly recommend doing it! My friends and I, we do a flight per two people, and then we each order a glass (or two) of our favorites. During cold winter, they also sell hot cider (not-alcoholic), which you can have spiked with apple spirit. On week-end nights, there's often live music playing in the early evening in the big tent / dining hall. It's open air, so bring a blanket or a coat

It is a stark contrast from the consumerist drudgery, hyper-stimulation, and quotidian violence of the modern U.S. market-scape which has metastasized like a bad rash over the land. An alternative way of relating to strangers and community members alike, around long wooden tables, listening to local folk performers stirs up a sense of communality from long-ago genetic and cultural memories. Eating good food, and drinking from a curated collection of ciders each infused and brewed slightly differently makes you feel "rich" in the true sense of humanity and wellbeing. I recommend this unusual vision of communal gathering -- where you can wander between wooden beam-constructed huts in which various food vendors are selling specialty items, then gather to sit down and eat in a large tent. Here you can also enjoy open farm vistas, and explore some planted rows. There is whimsical art festooned around the collection of low-slung huts. The ground is not paved so you can feel as if you are in touch with the earth. My food choice was a bahn mi sandwich which was excellently executed with toasted bread, both tasty and filling. It used a tempeh made with wheat grown in Chimacum itself. It had beautifully pickled daikon, carrots, and cilantro while the mayo was warming. Missing jalapenos were compensated for with chili sauces that you could custom add. I washed this down with a small six ounce glass of a mix of ciders because I couldn't decide my favorite flavors (strawberry infused cider was my jam that day). Be aware that food vendors will be different depending on the day of your visit. I feel that the care & finesse with which the bahn mi was executed is an indication of the high caliber of curated, prepared food available for purchase at this "farm" experience. Get back to the land and lower your blood pressure at Finn River Farm and Cidery!

(And they had a nice, covered outdoor patio seating area, where our dogs were welcome!) However, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! They do have beer and pizza -- but we opted for the salad (healthy) and the Pork Belly (perhaps not so much). Both were five-star delicious! And the view from the patio is also pretty darn nice. We'll be going back!

Man I love the vibes on Whidbey Island and spots like this are why. Such a gorgeous spot to stop…read moreand get a bite to eat or head upstairs to their cocktail lounge and just relax a day away. The vibes inside are immaculate as a kind of barnyard chic and the pizza topping combos are hyperlocal and fascinatingly unique you have to give them a try. Unfortunately my first time trying a pizza place must always be a simple cheese pizza so that's what I ended up with this time. The crust is cooked a little extra charred which can work well as long as the dough is moist enough, oiled well, and the pizza has enough flavor overall to balance it out. I wouldn't say that was the case here but I think there are many, particular NY/NJ/CT area folks who might prefer this style. Overall the pizza was just OK for me, a bit too dry from the extra cooktime/char and maybe dough hydration, the sauce not being as refreshing and bright as I like, the cheese as bursting with creamy milkiness as I want on these types of pies. But it still hits the spot and I'm happy I stopped here at such a cool little spot on such a great island. But for Whidbey Island pizza I'll probably stick with Village Pizzaria for now. Who knows, I didn't get to try the cocktails here so may need to come back for that. I did also get a smoked carrot dish that was a bit underwhelming for how cool it sounded, just a bit too much acid and fat without a lot of spice and flavor to balance everything out. Still may come back for the dinner-only pastas, I'm simply too intrigued by the chic menu recipes and chillaxing vibes here.

Price is also reasonable given the huge pie. I was able to get half margarita and half spicoli. The workers estimated a 25 min wait which was fine. It ended up being ~40 min wait but also okay. The pizza itself was super worth the wait. The crust is suuuuper thin, it's basically a cracker. Not my favorite personally, but the flavor of the whole slice is what matters. The margherita was light and garlicky and basily and oh so flavorful. I loved the balsamic glaze as well; added a deep sweet flavor which I enjoyed. The spicoli was craaaazy. The slices are massive and it's loaded with so much cheese and sausage that you can't even pick it up LOL. Flavor also 10/10. Would definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of super thin crusts! The flavors and topping selection is guaranteed yum.
