Instead you told me yes yes you're good for ya whatever time and insurance was good. One of our family members has a disability and it's extremely difficult to bring him out. So they made me look stupid as hell. Also our 3rd member that did decide to get her teeth cleaned was done in 10 min. What kind of a joke of a wash. I brush my teeth longer than that. On top of that when I was waiting there for the teeth cleaning she was on the phone with someone pleasantly laughing away. Talk about insult to injury. What an overall nightmare. It seems like they're running the same scam on everyone -- reading these 1-star reviews felt like reliving my own experience. I went in for a routine dental cleaning, but they immediately diagnosed me with gum decay and inflamed gums. Just like others mentioned, the dental hygienist, Everlyn Chen, wasted an hour trying to convince me to get a laser treatment that isn't covered by insurance. They caused so much unnecessary stress, making my gums seem like they were in terrible shape, even though the X-ray didn't show anything serious -- they even claimed I had the gums of a 40-year-old when I'm only 24. When I asked if better flossing could help, she insisted the only solution was the expensive laser treatment, and she pushed $100 shots for each tooth "in case of inflammation." Afterward, Dr. Pinkus glanced at my X-ray, said nothing was wrong, and left without providing any real care or explanation. I later went to two other dental offices, and both dentists looked at the same X-ray and said the laser treatment was unnecessary and my gums were not in serious condition at all. Their approach was deeply disappointing and completely unethical. It's clear their priority is financial gain, not patient health. If you've had a similar experience, consider reporting this to the state Board of Dentistry.

This is also my very first cavity in all 24 years of my life and I trusted my dentist through the whole process. I had my one teeth filled and was experiencing pain and sensitivity but I waited about two weeks to see maybe if it's just my teeth trying to adjust. I made an appointment to go back and get it refilled and a second tooth next to the initial one had been drilled and filled without me knowing beforehand. I was never asked or told before the drilling that another teeth would have been touched in the process. I waited another two weeks after that, still pain and sensitivity. I cannot chew on anything on that side of my mouth. I cannot drink anything that is not room temperature without it triggering a sharp pain in my teeth. I went back again and a temporary filling was put it. Same ordeal, pain and sensitivity. Waited another two weeks and did a scan and was told I still had a bit of cavity that wasn't taken care of the very first time and was assured that this time for sure would be the last time I had to deal with this pain. So some more drilling was done and the temporary filling was put back in. AGAIN pain and sensitivity. I went back one last time and was told that maybe I was just allergic to the filling and a different filling was put in. Not only did it not help, I constantly feel like I have to grind my teeth now. This new filling also came with a lingering discomfort that has been causing me a headache. I will not be coming back here and I for sure do not recommend this place at all. Initially after the first filling was done, I had asked if I could please switch a dentist and I was denied that. This is obviously intentional negligence to not put into consideration what a patient is asking you. This experience is really traumatizing especially for what was told a small filling that took me 5 visits going back and forth. I had my first root canal/crown done by her. She helped me match the color well and I was pleased with the end result. She is also very meticulous. With one of the crown moldings, it came out too short so she redid it and made sure Id be happy with it (which of course I am). Also, all the secretary are friendly and welcoming! I will be coming here for all procedures now including cleanings, cavity fillings, etc.

The hygienist recommended a deep cleaning because I had tartar and plaque. The cleaning cost $795. Then the supposed budget coordinator arrived, and the treatment for my teeth would cost $12,185. At another place in the same area, the treatment would have cost me $5,533. Even so, I paid half the cleaning, $395, to start, and they only cleaned half of my mouth, on the right side, both upper and lower. During the week, I got two second opinions from other dentists and called dental insurance companies and plans. The result: I have no plaque, no tartar, and a cleaning wasn't necessary right now. I had a broken tooth, and these dishonest people at Gentle Dental wanted to put a crown on me for $3,050. The other two dentists recommended the following: you have 70% of your tooth still good; it's best to preserve it by getting a filling that, with care, will last and keep part of your natural tooth. Think a thousand times before going to Gentle Dental. I recommend Corbin Dental Bayside. Stephanie at the front desk was also very helpful, as were the two women who performed my X-rays and scheduled my follow-up appointment (I unfortunately didn't get their names!) I left with a great impression of the office. Even though surgery was ruled out for the time being, I'd feel fully comfortable and confident in moving forward with Dr. Dourmas and her excellent staff if that becomes necessary in the future.

I finally decided to schedule a consultation, and the process was very easy. The receptionist took my insurance information over the phone and scheduled me for the next available appointment. On the day of my visit, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. They took a panoramic X-ray and thoroughly explained the implant procedure, what to expect during surgery, the healing process, and the long-term benefits of replacing the missing tooth. Since I already know that missing a tooth can cause surrounding teeth to shift, I appreciated how informative they were about preventing future dental issues. I was also very upfront about being nervous. I've had root canals, wisdom teeth extractions, fillings, and other dental procedures over the years, and dental work has always made me anxious. The staff was kind, patient, and reassuring, even though this visit was only a consultation. They explained that local anesthesia would be included with the procedure, while IV sedation would be an additional out-of-pocket expense since insurance doesn't cover it. Before I left, the secretary came over to my chair to discuss my insurance benefits. She explained that my primary insurance would cover 50% and my secondary insurance would cover the remaining 50%, which led me to believe the procedure would essentially be covered in full, aside from any non-covered expenses like sedation. Because of that, I felt comfortable waiting for the prior authorizations before making my final decision. A short time later, I received an email from my primary insurance showing what they approved, and it listed that I would still be responsible for $1,117.50. I wasn't overly concerned at first because I assumed my secondary insurance authorization was still being processed and would cover the remaining balance, just as I had been told during my consultation. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of what happened afterward. When I called the office to ask about the secondary insurance authorization, I was surprised to learn it had never been submitted. Instead of acknowledging the oversight or apologizing for the delay, I was simply told they would process it and that it would take about two more weeks. That was disappointing because I had specifically explained that I wasn't comfortable scheduling surgery until I knew exactly what my financial responsibility would be. I don't think patients should have to call back to make sure paperwork that was promised is actually being completed. At this point, I still won't schedule the implant until I know exactly what my out-of-pocket costs will be. Overall, my consultation experience was excellent. The oral surgeon and staff I interacted with during my visit were professional, informative, compassionate, and made me feel at ease. My only complaint is the lack of follow-through with my insurance paperwork, which unfortunately delayed my treatment. I hope this was simply an isolated oversight because my experience in the office itself was otherwise very positive.

I just came here yesterday to get a full teeth cleaning and the service was pretty great. Wait time…read morewas minimal. Paperwork was 6 pages long and the questions were easy for me to go through them. I did not need to pay copay too. The receptionist finished setting me up really fast without any issues. The x ray was alright. I did not like the posture I was in as the x ray exam was going on. I had to lean backwards and thankfully there were bars to hold on to or else I would have fell. Afterwards they had to do more dental x rays on my teeth when I went to another room and they covered up the equipment as much as plastic cover as possible. I wish they had more plastic cover on the equipment that I was biting into. I saw that the utensils were bagged up before they used on me so that was good. Dental cleaning with the hygienist was pretty fast. It did hurt a bit and I was pretty scared the dental cleaning would cause gaps in my teeth but luckily it didn't really do much and the hygienist did a good job. My teeth feel weird now like they are popping out as my tongue runs through them but thankfully the hygienist got the junk out of my teeth! The office is very plain and white once you're inside. There rows of black chairs for people to sit. Plenty of chairs. Many small plants along the windowsill. There is a $50 no show fee on the wall. Bathrooms are inside the office when you go in.

I can't speak to their work, but the bedside manner and lack of empathy and ethical care that was involved was below my level of expectation and standard.
