The smell of hamburgers on the grill immediately got my attention. I knew I had to check out what they had going on! I was told I should order the Spicy Island burger. Christine told me she wouldn't put too many jalapeños on it since I don't like it too spicy. When the burger arrived I began to devour it! This burger was to die for! A mixture of sweet from the pineapple and teriyaki and the spice from the jalapeños and onion. It was the perfect combination on the juiciest burger I think I've had! The only suggestion I have is get a fryer so you can have sweet potato fries. Hint, hint! I will be back!

I've been hard on equipment and seen stuff fail and break, but I don't ever worry about my oars. When I started my own river business, having to decide which oars to purchase did not even cross my mind. And now that we entrust and employ other guides to utilize the equipment we purchase, the return on investment is an actual thing that matters. After over 20 years of running rivers, I continue to look forward to rowing Sawyer oars down my most favorite rivers.

Andy was an amazing trip leader, and the rest of the guides (Jay, Katie, and Zeke) were fantastic. They were all super knowledgeable, genuinely nice, and really great guides for four days on the Rogue. The Rogue itself is beautiful and the rapids were fun in the paddle boat or kayaks. We got heavily rained on the last day so I'd book earlier in the summer and bring better rain gear next time, but the guides were great even through the rain, setting up shelter and getting us warm food. The food situation was also great. There was so much good food at every single meal, way beyond what I expected on a river trip. I would definitely book with OARS again for any future trips.

I had a bunch of questions as it was going to be our first time. I had a few back and forth phone calls with Dan who was incredibly helpful with all my questions and helped us set up a day on the river. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and guides who could not have been nicer. They explained everything to us and helped us be fitted for our vests and helmets. When we got to the river they gave us through safety instructions for the river and made us feel we were in good hands. Alex was our guide and he was terrific! Not only did he do a great job guiding us down the river but was a wealth of information about the local birds and wildlife. It was also wonderful learning about Costa Rica- his home and a place we have always wanted to visit. Our lunch along the river was delicious and we enjoyed talking with our fellow rafters and the guides. When it was over we could have driven right back and started all over again! The company is exceptional and we enjoyed every moment!
