I cannot recommend the crew at Fluid Ink and specifically Franz more highly! From start to finish - he was professional, courteous, and willing to put the work in to get exactly what I was looking for. Franz is one of the most talented and dedicated artists I've ever met and I would strongly encourage reaching out if you're considering getting your 1st or 20th tattoo!

I agreed with Mr. Jason Nunley for more than a month, he was recommended by the receptionist of this office and recommended by Mr. Ivan Lopez and I paid him 100 dollars to save me my share, the vual would be today July 2. Three days ago I spoke with Mr. Hason to confirm my visit for today Friday July 2 and he told me that if we would meet today to do the work. Last night around 9:00 pm he wrote me a message telling me that he canceled my appointment because someone gave him the full money. It seems to me a lack of respect, lack of professional ethics, lack of word and lack of responsibility. I cannot trust people who work like this, much less in the name of this company that supports all its tattoo artists. It is proof that my appointment was canceled because someone paid him in full. This proves the lack of respect, lack of professional ethics, lack of responsibility and the fact of producing mistrust or discrimination. He preferred to take someone who paid him in full, having paid my deposit of 100 dollars more than a month in advance and having confirmed three days ago that he would do the job for me. I lost a day of work and also remained completely confident.

Frank Ramirez massively fucked up the first session of my arm tattoo, didn't tell me he tried to fudge uneven lines together, charged me $800 for three hours of tattooing, then never responded to any of my messages nor took responsibility in any way. Edit: after this post went up, Frank refunded the total amount paid for the tattoo.

OMG, hands down on the best tattoo studio in the area. From the beginning consultation with Jen, who help me process my concerns and suggested the best artist for my ideas. We booked two appointments, one with Jason and in January will be doing a cover up with Antonio! Which I am super excited to work with. Went to the studio on Monday to see Jason, from beginning to finish he walked through the process of the best location for the tattoo. After, going back and fourth in conversation with him, he they suggested putting the tattoo stamp on both areas to see what I would like better. Which was so helpful, because of my indecisiveness. Jason, was patient and reassuring throughout! I love my tattoo and can't wait to go back!

Outstanding experience! It started with my consultation with Eddie -- who was welcoming, clear on process and cost, and connected me with an amazing artist. Eddie connects you with the perfect artist for the kind of design you envision. My artist, Lotoe, took my vision and created a custom design. He drew an original Phoenix on my arm, shoulder, and chest. I wanted to cover my chemo port and Lotoe was able to do so with beautiful artwork. I will be going back to finish the work in a couple of weeks but here is my work to date. Lotoe is amazing! Highly recommend Fluid Ink.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Fluid Ink this past weekend!!! I got my very first tattoo there and am so unbelievably satisfied. It started from my first consult, where I met with Eddie, who was really attentive to what I was looking for and took copious notes on what I had in mind. He suggested I work with Ivan because I had been looking for someone to do a watercolor-style tattoo. I am so grateful I got matched up with Ivan, who was so lovely to work with. He took my ideas from a Pinterest board ("I like these outlines" and "I like this illustration style" and "I want this shape") and managed to mesh them all into a really beautiful, cohesive design that is so unbelievably meaningful to me. He spent several hours painstakingly drawing up the draft until I was perfectly satisfied, and then he printed the stencil in several sizes so I could try it on in several different positions on my arm. I so appreciated Ivan's thoughtfulness, thoroughness, and attentiveness during this whole process, especially because it was my first tattoo and I had been pretty nervous. The shop was clean and super professional, and all the staff were so lovely to interact with and so supportive of one another's work. It really was a lovely place to spend five hours on a Saturday! Ivan and Eddie made sure to give me plenty of resources for pre- and post-care (such as Eddie recommending a few different types of lidocaine cream to apply before the tattoo and Ivan suggesting coconut oil and several different brands of moisturizer). I could not be more satisfied and am so incredibly impressed with Ivan's skill as an artist and his ability to bring my idea to life. Thank you all for such a special first tattoo!!!!!

The artist I went to was sweating a whole lot during the session. He kept grabbing a paper towel and wiping his face with it and then would go straight back to tattooing without changing his gloves or ANYTHING. Long story short, my tattoo swelled up to twice the size of my arm within the first two hours of me leaving there. I have 20+ tattoos, so I know they swell slightly, but this blew up like a balloon. It eventually started peeling on its own because of the infection that formed. I had to go to the hospital two separate times because of it. While I was at the hospital I the doctor gave me two different pill antibiotics and an antibiotic ointment. That's three different antibiotics for this tattoo... they doctor even said this might be one of the worst tattoo infections he has ever seen. I called Fluid Ink and I told them what happened. They proceeded to tell me it was my own fault, that I didn't take care of it properly, or that I was, in their words, "allergic to coconut oil." I told them I use coconut oil on my face EVERYDAY and they STILL proceeded to tell me I was allergic to coconut oil. I have 20+ tattoos, NONE of them have EVER been infected because I take amazing care of my tattoos, as I tried doing with this one. I really do think it's because the artist kept wiping his sweaty face, not changing his gloves and proceeding to tattoo me. I didn't want to go back in for the touch up, because why would I? They just messed my arm up and I had to pay for ALL of my medical bills. I asked if I could have the $300 dollars back since I payed for the second touch up appointment ahead of time, and they refused to give me MY money back. I went to a different shop to get it fixed, and what do you know? I encountered ZERO problems with the healing, because I take care of my tattoos. The artist would change his gloves every time he touched something that wasn't my skin. I had a horrible experience with Fluid Ink, and I would never recommend any friend to go there. Anytime a friend of mine tells me they are getting a tattoo, I always tell them to avoid this place like the plague. Anytime I show a friend pictures of what happened to arm arm, each person says the same EXACT thing, "you should sue that place! Or at LEAST get them to pay for your medical bills!" Again, long story short, I take amazing care of my tattoos, the artist kept wiping his sweaty face and not changing his gloves and proceeded to tattoo me, my arm got infected and they blamed ME.

Soooo, I have had a yelp account for about 2years and this is the first time I am taking the time to write a review. I have 4 tattoos and I want 3 covered or enhanced. I decided to cover the tat on my back first. The consultation - Jenny is amazing and super sweet. I felt like she was my sista from another mista! I sent the picture I wanted on my back, we set a date, and I was good to go. The tattoo - An amazing experience. Antonio is super cool and I verified the needles were unopened and up-to-date prior to the session beginning. My tattoo session took approx 6 hours. I came in to replace my septum ring because one of the balls on my horseshoe ring fell off. I was fortunate enough to have such an expert on piercings, Eddy. He was super attentive, helpful, and informative! If you find yourself going to Fluid Ink for a piercing I HIGHLY recommend Eddy!!

Came here today to get the tattoo from Ivan as per my communication from the owner Jennifer via yelp message as no one picks up the call at given number on yelp. It has been like 10 days since I have been communicating with the owner on the yelp message. She told me that I can come on August 11th at noon to be tattooed by Ivan as she suggested cause per reviews I requested Antonio but she said he is taking booking for March. Anyways I promptly arrived at the salon at noon. I saw Antonio was talking to other people on the counter and yes he was giving dates for next month no not for march, made me feel wow what kind of salon is that. Anyways Antonio told Ivan that your customer is here, he came out looks surprised or acting surprised I don't know but he said he doesn't have my name on the books. I asked for the owner Jennifer with whom I have been talking to. He said she is off and she never told him. Then I showed him my conversation and he went inside talked with Antonio and came out with Antonio. Then Antonio spoke up on his behave telling me that they have another artist Eric who is coming in shortly if I can get the tattoo from him. I said I waited many years to get this tattoo I was told by your owner about Ivan and now you're telling me to wait for third artist who's reviews nowhere to find on yelp. I switched my schedule around a lot to have this done and then Antonio replied " it's upto you" really??? Anyways I asked Ivan to show me Eric Work, he told me his Instagram page, tattoos were all big but looks nice. So I waited for Eric he came and then immediately showed the tattoos on paper that I wanted. I was so surprised that how come he knew about the tattoos obviously everyone in the store knew I was coming , all I understood from the whole ordeal that they might got the bigger job so they handed me over to the newer artist. This so unprofessional and I wasn't expecting this from such "five start" rated tattoo place. Anyways I got tattoos done from Eric, he was very sweet. So I had my first tattoo 11 years ago in Florida and I literally don't remember how I was asked to take care of my tattoo all I remembered I was given a small ointment tube. I asked Eric so how do I take care of my tattoo he just said oh wash it with antibacterial soap that's all. By the way when tattoo is new it looks vibrant and good so I was happy and left the store. After few days my wrist tattoo doesn't look good I searched online and came to know that I was not given any proper instructions from the tattoo artist. I contacted Eric on his cell phone, with pics for anymore care cause he is an expert.... no response two days past. I had two tattoos that day one is healing fine and other is not. The one that is not healing fine is the one with few colors than black and Offcourse being a physician myself I know that artist didn't use the correct technique. It's not my body response as my other tattoos never gave me any issues. I am not sure what is so hype about this place when this salon owner and artist are not honest and have inexperienced artists doing the just okay job!!! I will never come back to this place and will NOT recommend this place. I also emailed owner my displease when I was handed over to some other random tattoo artist she never bothered to apologize or respond!! read more

This place is amazing !! The staff is all very welcoming and friendly ! My last tattoo outline cover up was done by Antonio which was 4 years ago when he was at the other location. He has been very patient with me! So I tried booking with Antonio to have the color done since it's been forever ! But he was booking for July at this point ! So instead of me going somewhere else I asked him if there was anyone else he would recommend & he recommended Ivan ! Ivan was phenomenal! He was so patient with me ! And he is very detailed oriented ! He takes his time and does not rush the artwork ! Can't thank him enough ! Can't wait for my next piece !! So I'm not one to give reviews. But this was a really good experience so I had to. This was my first tattoo. It was a 2 hour session for 3 pieces. My initial consultation was with Jenny. Very cool people she is. Ivan was the artist that I worked with, cool people also. Helped me figure out exactly what size I was looking for. Made sure I was cool with the sketch before getting started. I got an old scar covered and he incorporated it into the art. I gotta say, it looks crazy cool. Would've never thought of it. All in all, definitely recommend Fluid Ink and Ivan. If you're looking for a place to go, stop looking and just go here. read more

Eddie is the best. Decided to get a couple of piercings done and he was able to get me in pretty quick. As soon as I walked in he greeted me and made me feel welcomed. He was very thorough with explaining the post piercing does and donts. He takes his time to make sure he is piercing the correct spot. The shop is very clean. I have never had a piercer or tattoo artist make me inspect the needle and tools before hand to ensure that everything is new and sterile. That created a huge level of trust! Eddie did a fantastic job with walking me through the three piercings I got making sure that I was handling the pain well. He does this breathing technique with you to help the process feel less anxious. All around I am very satisfied with the level of care I received today. Got my first tattoo here, something small but really meaningful to me. Consultation was outstanding considering I asked a lot of questions and they were knowledgeable about everything I asked. Ryan was my artist and he did a good job, kept me calm, and had a gentle hand from what I could tell. He was really reassuring since this was my first tattoo. Everything was sanitized, fresh paper laid down on the chair, needle came out of a new package, and masks were worn the whole 45 minutes. Four stars only because the lettering isn't identical to the stencil on the "courage" facing me and the "A" and "G" will eventually blur too much and close. read more

YES! IM A RETURNING CUSTOMER FOR THE 3RD TIME!! About a year ago I got my first tattoo of the customized Korean flag by Ivan. I can't stop receiving compliments on this piece. 9 months ago I got my second tattoo of a detailed tiger from Antonio. This piece is the biggest one I have and can't get enough compliments. Couple days ago I got my newest tattoo of a kid who represents me holding a soccer ball looking up to one of the greatest cities who made me the person I am today. Seoul, South Korea is where I call home. When I was younger we lived in the Haebangchon area, which is located in the Yongsan district. My father was in the service so we lived in close proximity to the Yongsan Army base. We then moved to Itaewon area before departing for Northern VA. This tattoo is very special to me. I can't thank Antonio, Jenny, and Ivan enough for being AWESOME! They truly have the best customer service. They make you feel like family. Originally Antonio was all booked up but Jenny put me on the waiting list. She placed a star by my name and jokingly said that her stars meant more to Antonio. I guess she was right because couple weeks later I got the call from Antonio to knock out my piece. Antonio took the time to sketch exactly what I wanted and found the best placement for my tattoo. He also asked Jenny (his wife) how she felt about the placement and she had similar input. I originally wanted the tattoo on the inside of my arm but they insisted on my bicep for better visibility. After seeing the final product I couldn't agree more with the both of them. Once again big thanks to fluid ink and I will definitely see y'all soon! read more

My wife and I recently went to Fluid Ink Tattoo for both of our first tattoos and we could not have made a better choice. Antonio, Jenny and Ivan are really amazing people. We did an initial consult with Jenny and presented our ideas and a few design samples and Antonio and Jenny offered suggestions on design and placement and we booked a date to come back. When we returned, the artwork was ready and incredible. The venue is a cool place, it's kind of like what you would expect and want in a tattoo shop. My tattoo took about 5 hours and then I stayed around for my wife to finish up so I was there for the whole day, about 8 hours and never once did I feel uncomfortable. To be honest, it was like hanging out with friends the whole day. Jenny is super sweet and Antonio is an absolute professional. He works quickly and his tattoos are clean. He really created artwork that embodies exactly what my wife and I were looking for. I also felt the price was more than fair for the level of quality that you receive here. If you're looking for a tattoo in the DC Area, I would recommend Fluid Ink wholeheartedly, you will not be disappointed. read more

LOVE this place. Can't say enough good things. Jenny is wonderful and helpful, and all the artists are so friendly and talented! Ivan in particular has done two of my pieces. One on my shoulder at the tattoo expo and one on my ribs at the shop. His shading work and lines are so beautiful and precise. He is very knowledgeable about does amazing work! He talks you through everything and is always willing to give his artistic opinion and thoughts on placement. He won't start your tattoo until you're happy with his work and the stencil placement. My experience with Fluid Ink was phenomenal. A friend of mine located this shop from Yelp reviews and they do live up to their 5 star rating. We were greeted by Jennifer at the front desk and she was awesome. Jennifer was very helpful and gave my friend and I great input for our tattoos. We then met Ivan and Antonio who were also very friendly with great vibes. Jennifer referred me to Ivan and sure enough he was great. He gave me different options to position the piece leaving it open for me to decide. My overall experience was a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend Fluid Ink to others. read more

This place, and this man's artist Antonio, are 'legit.' Alright, don't let the ruby red studs in his canines and that bomb ass haircut he has distract you. Also don't ask too many questions about the venue and if you had a chain on your wallet it's one of the few times I wouldn't make fun of you. But this review isn't really about the atmosphere, although they did put on Metallica when they asked what bands I liked and the unrequested prompt is some of the most subtle and fantastic customer service imaginable. First time I reached out to the man, response in an 'hour.' My first tattoo ever, I'm like geeking (baby geek, not full blown geeking, I'm not an 11 year Katy Perry fan for Christ's sake) about the process, and the form he gave me to sign looked like he took a colorless 8 sentence template in word and went 'like, it's done, man.' Didn't help the anxiety. But he, HE did. A consummate professional. He answered every question I had, and I asked more than were on those SATs you cheated on. He guided a prodigy of his through he techniques, explaining them to as he went on, as well. Had a last minute color change, and he's all 'no worries, man!' Was reasonably priced, done in a timely fashion, gave great follow-up advice, and offered a touch up if it faded at all over the next few weeks; I'm actually going in for that touch up now. His portfolio is a beautiful masterpiece of artwork. My tattoo was simple, but I look forward to using more of his talent and colorful skill on future pieces. First tattoo, last tattoo: I trust in Antonio. read more

It's been over twenty plus years since I have had a tattoo and I finally got the bug for more ink. As you get older you get wiser (maybe) and I look for artists that I can connect with and trust. If you're looking to get a tattoo get it done at Fluid Ink. Jennifer was amazing during my consultation, she was patient and took notes of all the details I wanted in my tattoo and was able to pass on everything to Ivan. Ivan took his time and you can tell he really cares about what the client wants. My tattoo came out better than I had imagined and I couldn't be happier. I have 96 hours of work on my body, so it's fair to say I have an idea of how good tattoo shops are run. First and foremost, Antonio is a world-class artist; he is the personification of professionalism. It was clear from the get go that his goal is to create a memorable, pleasurable experience for all of his clients. Second time I went to this place and both times I love the tattoo that I got. The staff were chill and friendly, you could tell that they all got along well and with their customers as well. The guy that did my both of my tats was Ivan. He took his time and put a lot into my latest tattoo. I told him a general idea of what I wanted and the end result being way better than what I had in mind. I wanted a simple compass half sleeve and Ivan gave me an art work that i still can't believe how much I love it. He even ended up putting in more into that representatives even more about who I am. I met Antonio two tattoo studios ago (3 years ago) when he did an anchor on my leg. Since then he has completed a 3/4 sleeve on my left arm and a big cover up on my back, and I couldn't be happier!! Not only is he a PHENOMENAL artist he's a person who I like to do business with because he and his business partner Jenny genually care about the work that has his name on it. I have referred several people to him that have left just as happy as I have! With tattoos becoming more popular every year it's hard yet imperative to find a talented artist who takes pride in their work without letting ego get in the way of quality artistry. I consider myself very fortunate to have met him when I did. The only reason I'm giving fluid ink 5 stars is because I can't give them 10 stars. My mom and I got a signature tattoo for dedicate to my late dad. We loved our tattoo but I'm a little mad they didn't give us an aftercare. The tattoo artist and front desk guy just bid us farewell after we paid and tipped. If my mom went alone and she didn't know how to take care of the tattoo, she could have gotten an infection. My mom is in her 60's, its not like she would have googled the aftercare. We didn't even know how long we were supposed to keep the seal on. So just make sure to get the aftercare before you leave to avoid an infection. I'm giving it a 3 star because it irritates me how they quickly bid us farewell without any instructions on after care. read more

I called asking if they accepted walk-ins and 2 hours later I was laying on Ivan's recliner getting my tattoo! The gal at the front desk was extremely professional and asked for specifics regarding my tattoo before I came in so they could be as prepared as possible. When I arrived Ivan was just finishing up another appointment but as soon as he was finished he was extremely attentive and made a stencil of exactly what I wanted. (To be fair, all I wanted was a very small, very short French idiom so it wasn't particularly difficult, but still he took as much time as I wanted!) The tattoo took no more than 10 minutes, the whole time he was very nice and calm. I would recommend this place to anyone and plan on going back myself for another tattoo in the future! read more

Brought my cousin, who is visiting to California to Fluid Ink as a walk-in. As soon as we went in, we were greeted by who I believe was the shop manager?! She was very nice and managed to squeeze her in between clients. Antonio ended up doing my cousin's tattoo, and was very professional. He took his time and did not rush through it. They allowed me to sit next to my cousin while she got her tattoo, which I appreciated :) even though I didn't get a tattoo, I left the shop very satisfied with the service provided. Very clean shop too! I definitely recommend this tattoo shop for anyone looking to get a tattoo!! read more

For back story, my mother has been asking me to sneak her out of the house in order to get her a tattoo for about 5 or 7 years. She has to live with my grandparents as she is Epileptic and has so many seizures per day (easily 20+) that she is unable to live on her own. Due to her condition, she is almost entirely wheel chair bound, though she can walk a short distance and she wears a helmet to protect her head when she has an episode. My grandparents are very anti tattoo so when I got my own when I was 19 , my mom was super jealous and was begging me each time I'd visit from college to sneak her out of the house and get her one. There were two issues with this. One is that I was still technically living in the house and would have to get an ear full on the topic every time my grandparents saw it (I know what you're thinking, and yes I got an ear full-o-plenty about my own tattoo), and the other is that she could not make up her mind on what she wanted partly due to her brain damage as she is a little slower to respond for decision making and partly because this is a permanent decision so I understood why she couldn't decide. I would have probably gotten her one sooner if she didn't have a different idea each time the subject came up! I am now living on my own in Texas and seeing as I visit once a year, I really wanted to get her something special as I do honestly fear I won't have her too much longer and wanted to have a fun mother-daughter bonding memory with her before the unfortunate time comes. For the month of December I had been contacting tattoo shops in the Alexandria area explaining my mom's condition in detail and providing them with the idea that she wanted as she finally came up with an idea she liked which I as well as my grandmother (which is a miracle) approved of. Many places I contacted were extremely disrespectful saying things like "Oh the lights will make her have a seizure" or "Is she going to wet herself?" as well as "Getting a tattoo causes trauma to the skin which could set off a seizure. With her body being in the shape it is in I don't believe a tattoo is a good idea at all." That last one was probably the more professional "no" I got out of any of the places in the area. She does not have photosensitive epilepsy and it was explained, she had a tattoo already and took it like a champ, and she's dealt with so many injuries that she has a super high pain tolerance. I knew for a fact she would be not be phased by the ordeal. Fluid Ink was the only place that got back to me with a ton of respect and were the most accommodating for her needs. When I first contacted them via email, I was in touch with Jenny who went so far as to count the steps to the place. 15 just for the record! I knew when Jenny went out of her way to count the stairs that this was the right place to take my mom for her tattoo. Jenny recommended Antonio as he has the most experience and then we came up with the appointment date. We had the last appointment of the day to accommodate the chair as well as me and my sister who came just to help out if something were to happen, and to help tackle those scary stairs! We got to the area a little early so we had to wait in the car, but once the last group of people had left, we started our journey up the stairs. If I remember correctly, Antonio carried her wheel chair up the stairs to help us out! The environment inside the shop is very pleasant and extremely clean. It almost has a homey feel which I very much approve of and I'm sure it helps calm some nerves for those getting tattoos for the first time. They set us up with an area near the entrance of the shop as that had the most space so she could be tattooed while sitting in her wheel chair. The idea for the tattoo itself was to have a chrysanthemum (my birth flower) with my name and birthday next to it so she can look at it and remember me when I'm not home which brought tears to my eyes when I heard her say this. They had a design ready which was super pretty and detailed with my name and birthday along the stem and one of the leaves of the flower. During the tattoo itself, my mom had absolutely no reaction as I had expected and guess what, no seizures! I would highly recommend Fluid Ink to anyone especially to those with special needs like my mom. This is the most accommodating shop with the kindest owner around and I would for sure recommend Antonio to anyone who wants to have a beautiful, high quality tattoo. I may even get myself one from him next time I'm in the area! Thank you so much Jenny and Antonio and everyone else at Fluid Ink for helping me create this wonderful memory for me and my mom. This is something that my mom and I will cherish forever! read more

THANK YOU ERICK!! I'm obsessed with my new / cover-up tattoo! My tattoo experience here was absolutely ideal. The studio is very clean and reasonable priced. Erick even showed me the unopened new needles before he began. His cleanliness is above an beyond. I came in on Wednesday night with an old tattoo that I hated, and asked him to take it from there. I honestly had no idea what I wanted. I had a few ideas, but no real concept. I sent him a few pictures and let him work it out from there. However, with the little he had to work from, he executed my vision beyond my expectations! I love it! I made a minor deposit, and came back in the next day. He had a few designs drawn up for me, but I knew I wanted this as soon as I saw it. I really appreciate that Erick is diligent and took his time. He was in no rush. He even laid the outline, saw something he didn't quite like, and completely wiped it off and started over. For something that is going to be permanent, a tattoo artist who cares as much as you do is CRUCIAL. I highly recommend going to see Erick. From start to finish, this only took about 1.5 hours. Well this is my second visit to see Antonio. However, this time I brought my daughter to get a tat. I told Antonio when she turned 18 I was bringing her to him to get he tat done. She wanted to do a remembrance tattoo for her great grandma that passed away 2 years ago. It was her birthday and we had an appointment but traffic was awful we were late. Antonio had appointments and so did the artist I missed my appointment with because Antonio was booked. He told me he would stay late after he's done that night and he would do her tat. This guy is just a good guy! He saves me so I'm the best Dad ever, he does the tat as fate would have it, which I wanted him to do from jump. Antonio is my life saver! I was a victim of bad tattooing and honestly thought laser removal was my only option. Antonio took the garbage and made it shine. Limited to working with what he had, he was able to make it look like it's original design. Antonio also spruced up an ageing tat with a beautiful flower piece that I'm in love with. I went to Fluid Ink 4 a re-tattoo of my eyebrows. This total experience has been less than professional experience then I really would ever want to deal with. From the staff not answering the phone's but when I drive to the location two are sitting in the office saying that "they were unaware that the Uncle had the Office phone with him and it was 12PM. Then when they call MoE who was the Tattoo artist that re-tatted my eyebrows the conversation started off totally Fake by voice say "Hey Moe how's the vacation going? Oh, we have one of your customers here...you'll call her? Well that call never came. And they won't answer my calls either. Please...make sure what type of ink companies are using oil based will last longer but water based will fade quickly it's cheap that's why they will purchase it but it won't last. read more

Some pieces were $300-$370 each, which I understand because it's solid gold, but the way we were treated when we didn't want to spend that much made us feel judged and uncomfortable. The actual piercing process was also not great. The piercer smelled strongly like cigarettes while working on my ear (not exactly comforting), and he was really rough with my friend's piercing and kept bumping into her other piercings during the process. Overall the welcoming vibe disappeared FAST and the whole experience felt awkward and judgmental. Save yourself the weird energy and just drive the extra 12 minutes to Mister Finister's Tattoo & Piercing for a much better experience.

I initially came here to get my ears repierced after they closed up during my postpartum period. I…read moreswallowed the high price tag expecting premium service, but their customer service is completely rigid and lacking any basic empathy. Be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars once you factor in the premium jewelry they require you to purchase. Their piercing appointments are scheduled for an hour, yet the actual piercing only takes about 5-10 minutes. A significant portion of the appointment is spent discussing and selling jewelry. The real problem came with the follow-up downsizing appointment. After they emailed me to schedule it, the earliest availability was about a month out. As a new mom coordinating childcare for a baby and making a 40-minute drive through NoVA traffic is not easy. The downsizing appointment itself is only scheduled for 20 minutes, which made what happened next even more frustrating. Unfortunately, there was a lot of traffic on a Saturday and I arrived 12 minutes late. When I got there, a front desk lady met me at the door and refused to let me in. My appointment was canceled on the spot because I hadn't called or texted to say I was running late. I was driving and not checking my phone, which apparently didn't matter. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no sympathy whatsoever for any circumstances. I was told another client was waiting in their car. So after waiting a month for an appointment, arranging my schedule around a baby, and driving 40 minutes, I left without receiving any service at all. Their policies may be their policies, but customer service matters too. The experience felt cold, inflexible, and completely dismissive. Given how much time is built into their appointments and how heavily they emphasize jewelry sales, I was surprised there was absolutely no flexibility for a customer who was a little late due to traffic. There are plenty of piercing studios out there, and after this experience, I would absolutely not waste time here. The prices are already high, and the lack of consideration for customers and new moms made me feel like a lesser person.

So I had to let them heal before I could get it done right. I had mostly had Jen do the piercings and the downsizing when it came time. She always gave feedback and was very patient with my questions as well. Tobias was the last person I saw for what was supposed to be a last downsize before I'm set until they heal, but they recommended I stick with the current post. So I actually didn't have to have anything else done. Now, I'm just waiting for my helixes to heal! Here are some more information that may help you determine if Brilliance Piercing is the studio for your piercing needs: they require appointments for any type of service (no drop-ins/walk-ins); they only work with jewelry they have for sale (I believe this is to ensure that the quality of the jewelry is top-notch and they know exactly the metal content - optimal healing conditions); when you have an appointment, you can't bring anyone with you; their jewelry are quite pricey, but not much more than other studios around. Their team is always upbeat, friendly, patient and knowledgeable: they will answer any question you may have and also always ensure you are aware of anything important regarding your piercing after care, etc. They have a wide selection of jewelry appropriate for whatever piercing you're getting! I'm happy with my experience and will come back for more piercings when I'm ready! I trust their professional opinions and also feel comfortable with the quality of their services. Definitely recommend.

Vanessa said, "what did I expect for $22?" I said I expected what the advertisement said, "a regular pedicure." She's a scam artist.

We look through a number of different reviews and studied the artwork that many of the Tattoo Artist in the area provided and we found that Fluid Ink stood out as the best in attention to detail and line work so we visited the location and found them to be very customer service oriented and extremely professional in all areas. They listened to our ideas for both of our tattoos and took what we envisioned and customized them to well beyond our expectations. Their design/artwork not only represented what we wanted, it exceeded our imagination. We then became very excited in the hope that this artwork could look this good Tattooed. After our consultation (where both Ian and Antonio were very open to any adjustments we wanted) we began our Tattoo sessions. Not only did both Tattoos turn out to look as good as the artwork in the consultation but they both far exceeded them. The attention to detail that both Antonio and Ian showed in these Tattoos were amazing! This is my second time coming to Ivan at Fluid Ink. Both times my experience at this shop has been exceptional! When you first walk in Jenny is really friendly and makes you feel welcome there. She takes the time to help you get ready if you need it and checks on you to make sure you're ok throughout your session. It's nice to have somebody care as much as her! The shop is very clean and professional and the vibe is nice. All of the other artists are really cool peoples and all of them are skilled and genuinely care about their work. This is the second tat Ivan's done for me. He's really friendly and makes you feel comfortable. It was about a 10 hour session in total but he made it seem like nothing. Ivan did a great job I love how it turned out. It hasn't even been a week yet and it's almost healed already. Ivan's really good at detailed work. My tattoo experience with Fluid Ink was AMAZING! Jenny was extremely helpful with bringing my entire tattoo and concept together. She helped me choose colors, design, and size. She was super professional and informative. Ivan was my tattoo artist. He did a FANTASTIC job! He explained everything he was going to do every single step of the way. He is quite knowledgeable regarding the tattoo process. He definitely set my expectations ahead of time. He was patient, he was easy-going, and he was a perfectionist. It is very clear that he has a passion for his art. I had a 7 hour session, so had several friends drop in and check on me while I was there. They were all so impressed by this studio and by this artist that they ALL plan to go back to Fluid Ink for their future tattoo needs. I had the pleasure of meeting Antonio and his wife at a tattoo convention in DC this past year. I was very interested in Antonio style of tattooing so I made an appointment and I must say I'm very satisfied. His wife and Antonio are very professional people and make you feel like you known them for years. Antonio tattoo a beautiful piece on my leg which he actually had to cover up a flaw from another tattoo artist. I was so pleased I went to get another tattoo from him. The piece is absolutely beautiful. Antonio really knows how to bring your ideas to life and I'm glad I went back to him. The best tattoo artist i've ever come across. I've had about four artists work on my tats because i moved around a lot, and Antonio is still the best that i've worked with. From the time that he plans a date and discusses what you want, to the time he puts the finishing touches on his work. Very professional and courteous guy, if you have a problem with scheduling he'll work with you, if you're not sure exactly what you want but you have a topic or an idea, he'll help you figure out what to put he's really good at free styling. He runs a clean shop that he makes comfortable for you, I respect a tattoo artist that's willing to make minor adjustments just for you to be comfortable. The detail in his work is really good, he doesn't leave until the shading and line work is perfect and you're happy with it as well. I found Fluid Ink via yelp and I browsed their portfolios before deciding to email them with a few questions and reference material. Jennifer got back to me during business hours and set up a consult with Ivan that worked with my schedule. Ivan is a doll, super chill, professional and wasn't afraid of the drawing I brought in. It was line work and tiny text, but he reassured me that it would work and where I wanted it placed. I didn't have to compromise. Although I would have, because he is the professional and if he'd have made a suggestion, I'd have gone with it for the best work. I wasn't scheduled to get the tattoo, but Ivan had the time and I was very comfortable. He even encouraged me to check his work when he was finished. First time tattoo-ee and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I emailed them a picture of my idea, I scheduled a consultation that week, booked the appointment for two weeks later, and in a little over an hour my appointment was complete (for reference, a 4-inch b/w chest tattoo)! I worked with Ivan and his skillset was exactly what I needed for my idea - the line work was great which I was particularly nervous about because the design was very symmetrical with lots of circles and straight lines, so too much variation on any part could have made it lopsided, but it came out perfect! It was really my kind of professional experience, very laid back and no pressure from anyone, but at the same time very explanatory about the process as it's going on and then a good discussion on aftercare. This studio was recommended to me and I will be recommending them to others. And oh yeah, they were 1/2 the price and a 1/4 of the time that other places had quoted me on. read more

I've gone to Fluid Ink for all of my tattoos thus far. Antonio and Ivan are some of the nicest and creative dudes I've met around here. Even if you're getting a tattoo for the very first time, they are inviting, open-minded, and helpful. Ivan has given me all of my tattoos. I always come to him with cool ideas and he turns it into something greater than I could have even imagined. When we first came to the east coast (born and raised in Arizona), all I looked for was a place to get my nose re-pierced. I came across fluid ink in my search, and saw it was decently close. So I started looking through the portfolio of Antonio and really liked them. Saw his specialty was in cover ups. I have quite a bit of shitty garage tattoos I wanted covered up. So I went in for a consultation. Jenny was/is super on point in getting back to you in a quick manner. Super professional and precise in making sure they get the full detailing of what you want. I've had two cover ups so far, and have my third and fourth big cover ups planned for next month. Antonio is beyond amazing. Artistic and creative. Bottom line up front....awesome place, awesome staff. I recently had some clean up/cover up work done by the owner Antonio. This is the second time working with him and just like the first he is a true professional. He doesn't disappoint. He took my tattoo that I had done 18 years ago and brought it back to life. As you can imagine dealing with an old tattoo for a cover-up or touch up is a challenge but Antonio makes it look easy. He brought ideas to the table that I never thought of and truly made my tattoo beyond amazing. I am more than pleased with the outcome. If you are looking for a tattoo artist in the DMV you have to consider Antonio or his other artist at Fluid Ink. They are all great artist and offer GREAT pricing. Loved my experience at Fluid Ink. It was so easy to get an appointment, and due to the nature of my tattoo, I was able to get my tattoo the same day as my consultation. Jasmine was so nice and reassuring, as this was my first tattoo experience, and I was a bit nervous. She took the image that I wanted and drew a beautiful version that I love! Everything was very clean and sanitary. She changed gloves whenever she needed to touch something else or grab something. As someone terrified of needles, my artist reassured me throughout the whole process and kept asking if I was okay. Jasmine had a light hand, and I felt no pain at all (but I also got it in an area known not to be super painful). I would HIGHLY recommend this studio. I didn't really have a clear picture of how I wanted my tattoo to look like and Ivan did a great job working with me on how it looked, the placement, and size. He communicated his ideas and rationale extremely well - and was very patient given I asked him to do several stencils on my arm to see how the feather would look. I appreciated that very much! My experience here was amazing! I have six tattoos already and wanted a coverup for one I had outgrown on the back of my neck. I had a consultation about a week and a half before getting the tattoo. At the time of the consultation, I only wanted to improve the one I already had but days before my appt, I thought of a man image of a woman I wanted to use to cover up the tattoo instead. Antonio, the artist, was very accommodating and My coverup came out great! Antonio was very professional and knowledgeable about the before and after processes of tattooing. Antonio has now done 2 of the many cover ups I need. It is so nice to know that there are artists out there that not only take what ideas I have in my head and make it a beautiful piece of body art but maintain 100% professionalism from beginning to end. The tattoo industry sadly has such a horrible reputation for many reasons from ppl tracing lines calling themselves artists to rude ppl that shun you if your not getting a sleeve or more done so finding Fluid Ink is like a breathe of fresh air! I have 3 tattoos and I have had them all done at Fluid Ink by Ivan. I first came to Fluid Ink, and to Ivan specifically, because of recommendations by friends and what I read online. I had very clear ideas about what I wanted for each of my tattoos and I provided Ivan with my ideas. He took those ideas and made them into beautiful body art beyond my expectations. In some cases he suggested changes that I never would have thought of, but these changes ended up being major improvements on my original designs. I recently moved here from FL and I've been on the lookout for a new artist, I think I've found one.. at least one of the best in the area so far. He recently completed a sternum piece for me that I can't wait to show off at the beach! The process was painful, but worth it. I can't wait to have him do some other pieces for me in the future. I have been to 4 different tattoo parlors over the years and Fluid Ink is by far my favorite. Jennifer is great at the front desk assisting with consults, appointments and simply consoling me during the tattoo (big baby here). Ivan was my artist for a very personal tattoo, Scorpion with a Rose, and it seemed as if he just draws from memory. Extremely talented. The tattoo healed well and I decided to return for Ivan to touch up an old Queen's Crown I had gotten years ago. The vision he had couldn't be put onto paper and I trusted him. I've known Ivan since we were about 10 years old and honestly my guy has only gotten better over time. In high school this man would tattoo himself for practice and if that I don't dedication I don't know what is. But Fluid ink is a very clean and professional tattoo parlor. Got a follow from Antonio the owner of fluid ink on instagram randomly, and instantly fell in love with his work. I had a quarter sleeve with waves sun rays and birds before I went. I asked for Armour to border my quarter sleeve because it needed more detail and wanted a really vintage looking art like medieval times Armour. He drew up my pictures I had for him and incorporated all of them in his drawing.
