Cool job. Love the attention. People is really nice there and have a chill vibe. The service is great. Exceeded my expectations.

Mango tattoo

Jen R was incredibly kind and fair. My sister and I went to get tattoos in memory of our childhood dog, Mango. Jen was responsive, helpful and professional. Will definitely go back!

Frank Rodriguez' attempt at drawing straight lines

Frank Ramirez massively fucked up the first session of my arm tattoo, didn't tell me he tried to fudge uneven lines together, charged me $800 for three hours of tattooing, then never responded to any of my messages nor took responsibility in any way. Edit: after this post went up, Frank refunded the total amount paid for the tattoo.

Cody is an AMAZING artist! He brought my idea to life and helped me pay homage to a hard time in my life. My session with him was probably the best I have ever had. He is a great conversationalist, and steps you through his design process before the ink hits the skin.

The only thing honest. Refund of my deposit.

I agreed with Mr. Jason Nunley for more than a month, he was recommended by the receptionist of this office and recommended by Mr. Ivan Lopez and I paid him 100 dollars to save me my share, the vual would be today July 2. Three days ago I spoke with Mr. Hason to confirm my visit for today Friday July 2 and he told me that if we would meet today to do the work. Last night around 9:00 pm he wrote me a message telling me that he canceled my appointment because someone gave him the full money. It seems to me a lack of respect, lack of professional ethics, lack of word and lack of responsibility. I cannot trust people who work like this, much less in the name of this company that supports all its tattoo artists. It is proof that my appointment was canceled because someone paid him in full. This proves the lack of respect, lack of professional ethics, lack of responsibility and the fact of producing mistrust or discrimination. He preferred to take someone who paid him in full, having paid my deposit of 100 dollars more than a month in advance and having confirmed three days ago that he would do the job for me. I lost a day of work and also remained completely confident.

OMG, hands down on the best tattoo studio in the area. From the beginning consultation with Jen, who help me process my concerns and suggested the best artist for my ideas. We booked two appointments, one with Jason and in January will be doing a cover up with Antonio! Which I am super excited to work with. Went to the studio on Monday to see Jason, from beginning to finish he walked through the process of the best location for the tattoo. After, going back and fourth in conversation with him, he they suggested putting the tattoo stamp on both areas to see what I would like better. Which was so helpful, because of my indecisiveness. Jason, was patient and reassuring throughout! I love my tattoo and can't wait to go back!

Outstanding experience! It started with my consultation with Eddie -- who was welcoming, clear on process and cost, and connected me with an amazing artist. Eddie connects you with the perfect artist for the kind of design you envision. My artist, Lotoe, took my vision and created a custom design. He drew an original Phoenix on my arm, shoulder, and chest. I wanted to cover my chemo port and Lotoe was able to do so with beautiful artwork. I will be going back to finish the work in a couple of weeks but here is my work to date. Lotoe is amazing! Highly recommend Fluid Ink.

Harry Potter magical dog patronus tattoo in watercolor style, done by Ivan

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Fluid Ink this past weekend!!! I got my very first tattoo there and am so unbelievably satisfied. It started from my first consult, where I met with Eddie, who was really attentive to what I was looking for and took copious notes on what I had in mind. He suggested I work with Ivan because I had been looking for someone to do a watercolor-style tattoo. I am so grateful I got matched up with Ivan, who was so lovely to work with. He took my ideas from a Pinterest board ("I like these outlines" and "I like this illustration style" and "I want this shape") and managed to mesh them all into a really beautiful, cohesive design that is so unbelievably meaningful to me. He spent several hours painstakingly drawing up the draft until I was perfectly satisfied, and then he printed the stencil in several sizes so I could try it on in several different positions on my arm. I so appreciated Ivan's thoughtfulness, thoroughness, and attentiveness during this whole process, especially because it was my first tattoo and I had been pretty nervous. The shop was clean and super professional, and all the staff were so lovely to interact with and so supportive of one another's work. It really was a lovely place to spend five hours on a Saturday! Ivan and Eddie made sure to give me plenty of resources for pre- and post-care (such as Eddie recommending a few different types of lidocaine cream to apply before the tattoo and Ivan suggesting coconut oil and several different brands of moisturizer). I could not be more satisfied and am so incredibly impressed with Ivan's skill as an artist and his ability to bring my idea to life. Thank you all for such a special first tattoo!!!!!

Pus mixed with the antibacterial ointment the doctor prescribed. This was after the first time I went to the ER. (Between changing bandages)

The artist I went to was sweating a whole lot during the session. He kept grabbing a paper towel and wiping his face with it and then would go straight back to tattooing without changing his gloves or ANYTHING. Long story short, my tattoo swelled up to twice the size of my arm within the first two hours of me leaving there. I have 20+ tattoos, so I know they swell slightly, but this blew up like a balloon. It eventually started peeling on its own because of the infection that formed. I had to go to the hospital two separate times because of it. While I was at the hospital I the doctor gave me two different pill antibiotics and an antibiotic ointment. That's three different antibiotics for this tattoo... they doctor even said this might be one of the worst tattoo infections he has ever seen. I called Fluid Ink and I told them what happened. They proceeded to tell me it was my own fault, that I didn't take care of it properly, or that I was, in their words, "allergic to coconut oil." I told them I use coconut oil on my face EVERYDAY and they STILL proceeded to tell me I was allergic to coconut oil. I have 20+ tattoos, NONE of them have EVER been infected because I take amazing care of my tattoos, as I tried doing with this one. I really do think it's because the artist kept wiping his sweaty face, not changing his gloves and proceeding to tattoo me. I didn't want to go back in for the touch up, because why would I? They just messed my arm up and I had to pay for ALL of my medical bills. I asked if I could have the $300 dollars back since I payed for the second touch up appointment ahead of time, and they refused to give me MY money back. I went to a different shop to get it fixed, and what do you know? I encountered ZERO problems with the healing, because I take care of my tattoos. The artist would change his gloves every time he touched something that wasn't my skin. I had a horrible experience with Fluid Ink, and I would never recommend any friend to go there. Anytime a friend of mine tells me they are getting a tattoo, I always tell them to avoid this place like the plague. Anytime I show a friend pictures of what happened to arm arm, each person says the same EXACT thing, "you should sue that place! Or at LEAST get them to pay for your medical bills!" Again, long story short, I take amazing care of my tattoos, the artist kept wiping his sweaty face and not changing his gloves and proceeded to tattoo me, my arm got infected and they blamed ME.

Ivan did such an excellent job on my first tattoo:) Got exactly what I wanted.. Got an Appointment fairly quick. He 's professional, friendly, and super fast! It took like less than 10 minutes to do the tattoo and the price was very reasonable. Ps: Parking is a little challenging, just give some extra time before your appointment ;) no Biggie

Soooo, I have had a yelp account for about 2years and this is the first time I am taking the time to write a review. I have 4 tattoos and I want 3 covered or enhanced. I decided to cover the tat on my back first. The consultation - Jenny is amazing and super sweet. I felt like she was my sista from another mista! I sent the picture I wanted on my back, we set a date, and I was good to go. The tattoo - An amazing experience. Antonio is super cool and I verified the needles were unopened and up-to-date prior to the session beginning. My tattoo session took approx 6 hours. Jenny and the staff made sure I (and my mom) were comfortable. I strongly recommend Fluid Ink to everyone reading this review! Thanks FLUID INK!!!

The most FANTASTIC shop/artist I have ever been too. Fernando knows EXACTLY what he is doing when…read moreit comes to professionalism, tattooing and quality. It obviously rubs off to his team as they are ALL amazing artists. Fernando did my full arm sleeve and the amount of people that stop me to talk about the work is astronomical. I've even got pierced here too. VERY SAFE and CLEAN environment. When you sit in the chair here whether it be a tattoo or piercing listen to when I say, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY about the quality of either as they surpass the expectations every time. 10/10 Recommended.

I'm disappointed to have to update my review but my recent experience make it necessary. I went…read moreback to Embassy Tattoo for another piercing (a conch) and had no issues. I asked a question about my original cartilage piercing and I was told that the piercer used a barbell that was too short and there was no way for the piercing to swell and heal properly. My earring was changed but I was charged for a new earring, even though they used the wrong one in the first place. A few weeks later I was cleaning the conch piercing and the earring fell out, and because it was a small earring that screwed into the back, it was not easy to put back in myself or with my husband's help. I called Embassy Tattoo to ask if they could put my earring back in for me, and they said they weren't taking jewelry changes that day because they were running a special for only new piercings. When I said it wasn't a new piercing, it was a 3 week old piercing that fell out, they told me it didn't matter and to stop by the next day. I definitely wasn't waiting a day to put a new piercing back into my ear when it was throbbing, swelling, and would definitely close by then. I went to another tattoo shop nearby who, after saying a new piercing should not have been a screw-in earring, changed the earring for one that snapped in. They also took a look at the new piercing and the original cartilage I got at Embassy Tattoo and said both were pierced on an angle which makes it harder to heal (as I've been experiencing over these last few months). While the staff at Embassy Tattoo are great, I don't see myself going back to after this.

Wasteland tattoos is fantastic! Highly professional, fair prices, clean, efficient, and precise! I…read morehighly would recommend to all of my friends. The tattoo that I requested was very simple and small, and they could not have executed this more perfectly. Furthermore, this was my first tattoo, and they put my newbie nerves at ease immediately. Pros: Price: The tattoo that I received cost $160 (pre tip). They ask for a deposit of 50% in advance, and then have you pay the rest onsite. I believe that $160 is the minimum price for any tattoo here. Tripp provided me with a quote in advance, per my request, and was very prompt and direct about the pricing as soon as I provided him with an example of what I wanted, which I really appreciated. I initially felt like this price was a bit high, however I called several highly rated tattoo parlors in the area, and this was the lowest price for my simple tattoo. So comparatively, this place checks out, price-wise! I am glad I paid to have it done at Wasteland, as the experience was incredible. Accuracy: The tattoo was executed exactly as I requested-- I couldn't have asked for it to be any more accurate, honestly. It was simple, but I think with simple designs, any flaws are even more visible, in a way? So I was very pleased with how it came out. Friendliness: I had a very pleasant experience here. Banter throughout the tattooing process, I felt like my artist and I were just friends hanging out. There were upbeat R&B oldies playing, which put me right at ease. Pain: Truly painless, to be honest. I was shocked by how little pain I experienced. Honestly, it was reminiscent of a small scratch. Also super quickly completed. Simplicity of booking: Booking this appointment was so easy. I figure that this is partly due to the simplicity of my design, however I was still surprised how quickly they got me in. I was able to secure an appointment within a week of reaching out. When I showed up, they were ready for me, and the entire experience felt very streamlined and efficient. Clean studio: The studio was clean, modern, spacey, and private. The bright colors and upbeat music put me at ease immediately. Masks were worn throughout the process. Instructions on treatment/self care of tattoo: My artist provided me with detailed instructions as to how to care for my tattoo. I asked a lot of beginner, kinda silly questions, but never felt belittled, and felt like I was being taken seriously and really cared for just in the way that my questions were addressed. The care process was honestly very easy, and within a couple of days, I felt that it was pretty much healed up! A super easy and fun process :) Cons: Truly ZERO from me! I am so pleased with my tattoo and impressed with the overall experience offered at Wasteland tattoos. I am recommending to all of my friends in the DC area! Go here! You will not be disappointed, and your expectations will surely be exceeded, as mine were.
