The servers are attentive and friendly, and they make sure that your water glass is filled. The garlic butter chicken wings are simply spectacular! The chicken wings are ginormous, the batter is light and crispy and the garlic butter sauce pairs so well with chicken. The salt and pepper squid was piping hot and the batter was also light and airy, and the calamari was cooked perfectly. The beef was pricey but absolutely worth it! The waiter asked how we wanted the cook on the beef, and the beef was a perfect medium rare. The meat was so tender and flavorful with an excellent char and the sauce was so flavorful. I really appreciate the abundance of vegetables that come with each dish and the portion sizes are quite generous. My diagnosis: come here for perfectly executed Vietnamese staples!

The food can be a bit pricey ($35 for bo luc lac, for example) but flavors are great overall and the service is also really good! It's not super high end in terms of decor but certainly well above average and pretty nice compared to the standard Vietnamese restaurant. (For example, yes to white table cloths, but they are layers of plastic.) My quick rapid fire recommendations: 1. Chicken wings - they are absolutely ginormous, amazing flavor, and totally worth the price though they seem expensive on the surface. 2. Fried calamari salt and pepper - delicious! I can't quite describe it ... a hint of funnel cake batter flavor? There's something quite special about this one and it's quite tasty. 3. Shaking beef (bo luc lac) - amazing! Ask for the beef to be medium rare as opposed to medium. Dip those beef chunks into the lime dipping sauce and oh my... you're in heaven. The service is also top notch and not your standard Asian restaurant level. Located off West Little York, close to 290 - it's a hidden gem in Northwest Houston not too far from the city. The space is bigger than you would expect so it's also great for large parties if you can reserve the space. Enjoy!

I'm not a fan of kimchi and didn't like my first visit here because of the kimchi. This time we opted out to remove the kimchi and the food was amazing. Like it's been sitting there for a while and was refried when ordered. Fries were tasty but not crispy. Lastly, the protein serving is not enough for the amount of rice on the bowl, unless you take tiny bites. We had more than 1/2 of the containers filled with rice and no protein left.

Lots of stuff to choose from - and if you don't watch it, you'll stuff yourself. Orange chicken and sesame chicken were real good. Dumplings were excellent, as were the ribs. Be adventurous and try a few of this and a few of that and you'll go back for more and more and more . . . There is also sushi available, but I passed on that. Plenty of desserts to try when you're stuffed to the gills, too: ice cream, petit fours (little cakes), and fruit!
