I've recently had the opportunity to try Fluffy McCloud's and it was delectable! My friends and I went at around 11 pm and there was a little wait (went by in about 10 minutes). We ordered the banana spilt that comes with 6 scoops of ice cream and (obviously) a delicious creme brulee banana. For the ice cream flavors, we got sage, chocolate, vanilla (2 scoops), mint chocolate chip, and coconut. Our favorites were the chocolate and mint chocolate chip. Both were so rich and deep in flavor. The inside of the place is pretty small, but it's pretty chic. I love the mirrored wall and the jukebox. The workers were also really friendly! In all, Fluffy McCloud is a solid spot for late night ice cream!
We recommended this place by lots of people as they know I love ice cream. I thought the inside was super cool and I love all the little trinkets and decor. Ice cream flavors were very interesting! Kinda crazy how they were able to make a burnt milk flavor?? I do like how their "one scoop" means two scoops haha so I was able to get a chocolate and strawberry swan combo. Basic but good! Place gets busy and sitting outside gets a little overstimulating. So beware if you're tryna go there for some quiet time lol. Kinda pricey but I mean it's LA lol they also have vegan options (but those were alright)
A whole dream. Craving a cool cold sweet treat late at night after dancing and sweating it out in Hollywood? This is your spot! The workers are chill, the jukebox and mirrors are a vibe and the ice cream is DELICIOUS!
Finally got to try this spot, came for the banana split! Parking around can be tough, we came around 11pm on a Friday evening. There's a few seats inside & maybe one table outside. The interior is so cool, lots of cool things to look at on the walls. The banana split was around $24 after tax and includes your choice of 1-6 flavors. There's probably 10+ flavors. We tried strawberry, pistachio, coffee, chocolate, burnt milk & mint chocolate chip. Can't complain, all the flavors we chose were excellent! Very cool spot to hang out and have an ice cream with friends.
Woowww I feel like I just stepped into Pop's from Riverdale! This place is such a cool retro throwback, its hard not to have nostalgia for an era that you never lived. Ordered: A 6 ice cream banana split sundae. 5/5 Now I'm not the first one to say that the star of the show is the banana and its a shame that this is my first sundae because I fear that no one else will be able to compete oops! The banana was caramelized to a creme brulee perfection that it literally almost reminded you of that. It was heavenly. The ice cream was all quite good and I liked the flavor options, and the scoop amount was generous. Ambiance: 5/5 As I said gotta give a shout out to the vibes. There's a juke box playing, there's bits and bobs, some booth seating and a very long counter to sit on and outdoor seating. Service here was great they were very sweet. Parking might be a little tough here but it'd depend on the time of day. This is a must late night run if you're in the area!
Top flavors here: - The brulee'd banana. I wish they could do six brulee'd bananas and two scoops of ice cream in their banana split. This place inspired me to air fry my bananas with sugar at home - In order of preference: Vanilla, matcha, earl grey, strawberry (don't recommend this for the split but it's tasty alone), pistachio, mint chocolate chip (super minty and also does not go with the banana split IMO), egg nog, rainwater sorbet (would not recommend to put in the split, clashing flavors) The inside is so sick and retro, love that they are open til midnight or 1 AM on weekends. The banana split is definitely a 3+ person experience in my opinion as the ice cream melts quickly. :'D They get quite busy in the late evenings but the workers were polite and the split was out within 5ish mins! The only wait I would anticipate is the line to order and looking for a seat after the order has been placed. Parking is metered/street parking in the neighborhood. Bathroom was clean at 10 PM on a Thursday night.
Found this place late on a Friday night. Place was packed! Once inside it looked like an old school ice cream parlor. That was several tables and booths. There was also a "soda bar" with seating. They are know for their banana splits. The unique thing about their banana split is they offer brulee'd bananas!!! A banana split comes with 6 scoops of ice cream of your choice!!! The ice cream is just basic ice cream, but thats to be expected at a ice cream parlor and in a banana split. But the addition of the brulee'd banana made this stop worth the wait!! Very tasty way to enjoy a banana split!! if you're looking for a sweet treat one evening, I recommend stopping by fluffy McLeod's and getting the Brulé banana split. The ice cream place itself is great, I love the seating area and the decor it gives super retro vibes. I can see this being more of a place to hang out than actual enjoying the ice cream. I bought a banana split thinking I could take it to go but the worker told me they do not offer for to go as they are a non waste business but I did see someone leave with a paper bag so I don't know. Main reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because I paid 25$ for a banana split, not including tip so total being 28$. I wished I looked at the prices more closely and I really don't mind paying more for something so simple as long as the taste lives up to the price but the cost for this banana split is absolutely ridiculous, the size was not any bigger than a standard banana split and it was really more for aesthetic than taste I guess. I got to choose a couple flavors but I'm not going to lie I picked 4 different flavors and none of them were good at least not for the price. I'm born and raise in Echo park and completely support small businesses but I don't know I guess I don't get it.
Actually the coolest spot on Sunset Blvd. You're totally transported to a different time!! It's the perfect mix of 50's diner vibes and the 70's with the retro jukebox, swivel chairs, mirrored walls and cow print seats. So creatively designed. The staff was super nice and easygoing too. We got the banana split and it was so delicious and beautifully crafted-- yes it was a bit pricey (like $18 bucks) but sooooo worth it!! I would say you could split it with 3 people and everyone would be satisfied. The Banana was caramelized, it had some organic Maraschino cherries, and you can choose up to 6 flavors! You def gotta try the pistachio. 10/10 lovely experience!
Loved it! It's located in the Hollywood section but, it has that tobacco, humble, goth and mysterious vibe about it. Iykyk! Visiting at night is my personal exercise. The worker held a great enlightening conversation and we felt comfortable and pleased to be there. The ice cream flavorful and very rich. For example, there Burnt Cream. If you need another recommendation, why ask?
I love Fluffy McCloud's and their banana split is such a special treat. You can get 1-6 flavors and the banana split is just perfection. Went the other night and introduced the place to friends and it was nice to share the banana split and sit inside and chat. The interior is so fun and there's so much to look at. However, parking can be difficult because of the area. Definitely worth it though!
Vegan cookies and crème: Ice cream is very light. Sweeter than mint chip. Cookies tasted like generic cookies not oreos because they make all their ingredients USDA organic. Mint chip: The ice cream is very light, it won't make you feel heavy like diary ice cream. Stronger mint flavor than the usual mint ice creams.
We also got the sundae, and it was pretty good overall. I definitely loved the pistachio, vanilla, and chocolate mint those three stood out the most. I can't really say much about the other flavors since they lean more toward personal preference kind of an acquired taste but those three were solid. The interior had more of a diner vibe, which I liked. I just wish there was more seating inside since the place is kind of small. They do have outdoor seating, but at night it can get pretty cold, so it's not always ideal. The workers were nice.
Great service and great options. My friends and I split the banana split that had 6 flavors to choose from. I loved the fact that it had real cherries as oppose to maraschino cherries. We were celebrating my nephew's 14th birthday and wanted to end the evening with ice cream, so we this spot through Yelp. Located on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, It's definitely one of those hidden gems that adds to the neighborhood's character. The menu isn't huge, but they do offer vegan ice cream options, which is a nice touch for those with dietary preferences. I ordered the Cookies & Cream in a waffle cone, and it was creamy, flavorful, and hit the spot after dinner. Seating is fairly limited, with just a small counter inside and a few tables outside, so it's more of a grab-your-cone-and-enjoy-it kind of place. Street parking can be a challenge, but there's a paid parking lot just around the block if you can't find a spot nearby. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the prices felt reasonable for a specialty ice cream shop in the area. read more

Diner vibes with delicious ice cream, jukebox, and mellow lighting! I happen to be in the area after dinner and was craving a sweet treat. I stumbled upon this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try! We came around 12 pm and it was still pretty busy. There's a parking lot located near the ice cream parlor that didn't charge for parking after 9pm. The ice cream parlor had a nice diner vibe to it as soon as you walk in. There's a jukebox, booth seats, bar stools that overlook the street outside, and counter seats. I thought that this would be a nice place to bring a date since the portions are definitely shareable. They had about 10 flavors to pick from and you can ask for samples of it to see how it fits your tastebuds! I shared with 2 other people and opted for the banana split! Food: Banana Split (8/10): They brûléed the banana and It was kind of a game changer! It adds a nice crunch to the banana but it wasn't torched to the point where the sugar hurt the roof of your mouth. The banana split comes with 6 different flavors. There's no rule where you have to get all different flavors! Between the six scoops, we got 2 coffee, 2 cookies n cream, 1 thelma vanilla, and 1 banana bread. My ranking for all the flavors, banana bread, coffee, cookies n cream, vanilla. The banana bread was so prominent in flavor! The brown sugar shined through together with the banana flavor. The banana didn't have any artificial tasting flavor which is my favorite because a lot of other places use syrups but beware this one does contain nuts. The coffee flavor was there but not so strong to where you have to worry about not falling asleep after eating it. The cookies n cream wasn't an Oreo flavored ice cream but it tasted like they used a butter cookie base instead. The thelma vanilla was good but there wasn't anything that stood out to me. They also added sprinkles, coconut flakes, cherries, and piles of whipped cream! read more

i loved the atmosphere of the space, it's super aesthetic! there were so many cool things to look at while waiting! i love that this place is also open super late, which we don't really see much of anymore. sad that there isn't a lot of seating though and kinda crowded :/ i also love the fact that they use dish ware to reduce waste!! the service was super quick even with a long line of people! you can tell the ice cream tastes fresh, organic, and not artificial! would definitely come here again and again :) read more
I'd been wanting to try Fluffy McCloud's forever and my girlfriend and I ended up stopping in to try a couple scoops on a hot day. The earl grey and banana bread flavors were so fresh and delicious. And I loved the old school soda fountain vibes. Definitely wanna go back and try the banana split someday! read more

First time at Fluffy McCloud's and thought it was an interesting concept of a retro soda fountain / ice cream parlor. Ambiance was dark and moody but still playful and young. Service was friendly as I got to sample different flavors until I found something I liked. I got a single split scoop of strawberry and honey chamomile. Both flavors were rich, creamy, and sweet. I liked the honey chamomile because it's a unique flavor and it tasted exactly as it's named. Overall, I enjoyed the experience but the high fat and sugar content of organic ice cream did feel "heavy" after a while. My friend and I did not finish our ice creams. read more

I came here for the banana split and it did not disappoint! The banana was caramelized and had an exterior crisp. It comes with six scoops so if you're indecisive about flavors this is perfect for you. I had the vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream flavors. It's for sure something that you should share because it's a generous portion of sugar. The interior is a bit warm so if it's a cold day you'll definitely warm up inside. read more

I really enjoyed the whimsical ambience. Lots of fun stuff to look at while we enjoyed our cones at the counter. The employee behind the counter was helpful, made us laugh, and even told us we can play music on the jukebox. I got a scoop of the pistachioyoyoyo and it was delicious! 4++ Cozy ice cream parlor in Echo Park that serves organic ice cream. Despite the quirky decor, the menu feels like it was imported from traditional, nostalgia inducing ice cream shop. The folks taking your order and serving the ice cream were very friendly and helpful. They have traditional flavors here, but also some fun creations. I got the pistachio and dulce de leche (made with goat milk). I thought that was a great combo. Parking could get tricky since it is located in the busy area of Echo Park, but once you find parking, there are a lot of other places in the area where you could grab a bite come here for dessert. And if you have a sweet tooth or a hankering for ice cream, then definitely come here. read more
Went here the other night after dinner as people were in the mood for ice cream and wanted to try something we had not tried before. Fluffys came up so there we went. If you can find street parking in this area of Echo Park, that's perfect. If not, there's a parking lot around the corner you can park in for a charge. Walked in to Fluffys and the line was decent, but it moved quick enough. The ambiance is retro with a hipster vibe. We each tried something different from the burnt milk to the mint and chip. Definitely some interesting flavors, and everything is made organically and in house (I believe). And while the flavors are unique (burnt milk tastes like it was literally burnt, so respect on bringing the name to life), the ice cream itself didn't taste like it justified the price. Not sure what my expectations were but it didn't quite hit them. The others in my group felt the same way. McCloud's is our new favorite ice cream shop!!They offer a plethora of services, with delicious ice cream and a side of self-improvement. The lady working there was as sweet as the shop itself. This place is truly amazing, with a jukebox and cold water, making it a cool place to hang out . You really shouldn't miss out on this place! Some of the best ice cream I've had in LA - so creamy and rich in real flavor, you can tell it's from the actual ingredients and not artificial. I sampled the strawberry, pistachio, chocolate, and mint chip. I ultimately went with the pistachio and chocolate but the strawberry was hard to pass up! The mint chip is real mint flavor if you like that (it's weirdly not my thing). The staff was so nice and they give lots of samples (as mentioned). We discovered that they even have a lacta pill dispenser for those who can't do dairy. Can't recommend enough! My only confusion was that you can't see the name of the store from outside it so if you're looking for it- it's the store with Organic Ice Creams on the window. read more
Fluffy McCloud's is a vibe and the best ice cream I've had in a while. A weird, eccentric, eclectic spot, it feels like a welcome blast from the past. Colorful with a Saturn instillation, a lactaid gum-ball machine, wall kinetics, and a jukebox, I couldn't help but be charmed by the space. Though it was packed on a Friday night, and a wee bit claustrophobic, the line moved quickly and service was phenomenal. So warm, so friendly, so humorous. I went for a cone with rose saffron, banana bread, and strawberry ice cream, and all three were winners. I'm usually someone who sticks to pretty plain ice cream flavors, so I was surprised at how much I loved them. Rose saffron, in particular, surprised me because I typically feel that florals in food taste like soap. Glad Fluffy McCloud's could prove me wrong. The waffle cone was also a great, crispy texture with the perfect amount of sweetness. I see why this place is so popular; it's truly a gem in Echo Park. read more

If you're walking on the sidewalk in Echo Park, and see a Hopscotch court on the ground, you might have stumbled upon one of the best ice cream shops in the area. That's exactly what happened to a couple of friends and I as we were venturing out into the wilderness on a Saturday evening. Fluffy McCloud not only has atmosphere and pizzazz, but they also pride themselves in using only whole, organic ingredients. Inside this fine establishment, you'll find a working jukebox, a coin-operated gumball machine filled with Lactaid pills (yes, they thought of EVERYTHING), a perpetual motion machine (like a Space Rail), and awesome and friendly staff that dispatch everyone quickly, yet in a professional and friendly manner. My favorite flavor was Thelma Vanilla (yes, I'm very basiq, I know lol), and I had it in a sugar wafer ice cream cone (highly recommend it over having it in a cup). Definitely a 10/10 ice cream shop in one of the most fun and interesting neighborhoods of Los Angeles. read more
This is a cooky place full of character! It's in a particularly cool part of town, over in Echo Park. I thoroughly enjoy the vibe. The ice cream flavors are interesting and they have vegan options! Just be warned - Salt & Straw is the more affordable option. But this place is more memorable and has seating, so you get what you pay for. read more
