Reminder to my future self, I do not like the Matcha Blueberry and I like the Matcha Rose Latte instead. The Matcha Blueberry does not taste good. It tastes like blueberry but not too sweet (natural sweetness only). The Matcha Rose Latte was floral and cream. Recommend to not get the rose petal since they get soggy and get in the way.

It costed around $8 for a 24oz matcha latte, which I should have listened to to my instinct and ordered a 16oz so I didn't have to throw away. Their matcha quality wasn't great and the drink was sweetened with syrups or somethings that wasn't natural, which gave me a bad feeling in the throat whenever I took a sip. I passed by them multiple times and saw a line but on a weekday morning, it was empty. Kind of confused on why a matcha place in Little Tokyo could be this disappointing. The bathroom wasn't for public use as well. The staff was nice showing me where to go though it was far so I didn't go.

Loved visiting Midori Matcha Cafe! This place is a must for any matcha appreciator. The matcha was rich and strong, seems to be pretty authentic/traditional in my opinion! Service was super helpful and kind, the barista even told us to let them know for any modifications if we weren't happy when handing us our beverages. I have to shoutout that I'm extremely pleased with no upcharging for non dairy milks and that there is not just one, but two vegan pastry options! I also believe the pricing is very reasonable for what you're getting, especially in LA. I would love to come back here, I'd like to try something like the rose or lavender matcha next time since the strawberry matcha was a bit too "strawberry-ish" for my taste. I also tried the matcha hot chocolate, which I liked, but don't have much expectation of a hot chocolate type of flavor, it's definitely a drink for a matcha lover. One thing to note, be warned that there is no bathroom! Plenty of indoor and a bit of outdoor seating (shaded), it's a super nice and chill spot to people watch, chit chat, or read a book.

Food: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 7/10 my friend got a Matcha swirl ice cream and I got a Matcha Blondie personally the Matcha Blondie wasn't that good but the Matcha swirl was amazing because the flavor of the Matcha is so deep that that you know you're having a genuine Matcha experience. Please note that the parking because it's LA is very difficult, but if you're really craving good Matcha, I really recommend this place because even though I didn't get the Matcha latte I can tell that their Matcha latte or just their Matcha in general is phenomenal.

Stumbled upon Midori Matcha Cafe during a day outing in Little Tokyo. There was another similar matcha cafe nearby that seemed more popular but I picked Midori because they had my favorite, hojicha soft serve. I imagine this place gets busy sometimes but we thankfully strolled in and were able to order immediately. Staff were kind and welcoming and we got our ice cream quickly. Rich hojicha flavor in the ice cream, and I love that they dust hojicha powder on the top to finish. Very solid spot, I'd come in agan to try the drinks if I lived nearby!

I've came here before in the past. Their lattes and matcha powder have been decently good. However this time, I tried the float and it was a latte with oat milk and vanilla ice cream. As you can see in the photo, the drink was barely filled. It seemed like a lot of ice was put into the drink. So all this for $8? Personally, the service was good but I would expect the drink to be filled with the actual drink and not majority of it being ice.

This matcha place was amazing. I've actually never been to a real matcha spot before, so this was new territory for me. Yes, you can get matcha at a coffee shop, but it just hits different when you go somewhere that actually specializes in matcha. I went in planning to get a drink and somehow walked out with the dual soft serve cup instead. Zero regrets. It tasted super earthy, like real matcha, not overly sweet or fake. Service was quick, everyone was really nice, and while it's a bit on the pricey side... I mean, it's matcha. That's the tax. I genuinely loved it and will 100% be back for more.

Strawberry Matcha Latte and matcha blondie :3

I had a craving for matcha with my date and we decided to stop by Little Tokyo and try this place out. It was at 5pm so the cafe was very quiet. Music was peaceful and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even brought our drinks to us since it was so slow. They offered to make any adjustments to the drink after they brought it to us. The strawberry matchas were amazing. We wanted to try the blueberry but they were unfortunately out of it. The Matcha blondie was delicious and paired perfectly with our drinks. We will be coming back to try the other types of matcha they have.

Pricier and icier than Tea Master but the hours are much better. There's a lot of soft serve competition in this area and probably wouldn't be my first choice but I'd be fine to visit as well.

    Hojicha Latte (Iced)
    Nichole C.

My family and I were walking around Little Tokyo looking for ice cream when this spot popped up on Google Maps. We initially came in just for the soft serve and were pleasantly surprised by how rich both the matcha and hojicha flavors were! Since we knew we'd be sitting in LA traffic on the way home, we decided to grab a few lattes to go as well. I got the hojicha latte with oat milk, and it had a great roasty/chocolatey taste to it which is exactly what I look for in a good hojicha. This place is more of grab and go type spot when it's busy, but there is some bar seating and a table or two if you're lucky enough to get one.

This place is located at the Weller Court. I parked at the Japanese Village Plaza Parking Garage ($4 every 15 minutes) and walked to this place after I finished checking out the other stores in that area. This store was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon. The line wasn't too bad, and I was able to get a seat and table to wait for our order. When the order was ready, the lady came out with the drinks and brought us our drinks. We got the Matcha Latte (Iced), Matchacano, and Matcha/Hojicha Soft Serve. The Matchacano was not sweet at all, and the Matcha Latte tasted more like milk. I liked the soft serve since it was much sweeter and flavorful.

Matcha and hojicha swirl tastes good. So does the Rose and Lavender Matcha lattes. A must try for matcha lovers.

Honey Affogato: 4/5 I usually go for items with caffeine and I wanted to like it more than I actually did. It was cold and refreshing at first but the coffee tasted a little too bitter towards the bottom of the cup. Dear Chocolate: 5/5 No notes other than, it was perfection. My friend mixed the chocolate well with the soft serve, and she liked the consistency and texture. It wasn't too sweet for her either. She also did not add the sea salt Sweetie: 5/5 The honeycomb "chunk" is chewy and had a more natural taste to it, if that is what you're into! Combined with the lightness of the soft serve, the Sweetie is a solid choice for the people who are looking for sweets that are not too sweet. Overall, this is a great spot for a sweet treat. The area did get a slight upgrade from what I heard - they have a photo booth and the walls look like they've been painted over for a more vibrant yellow. The cone had a Rice Krispie-like fruity pebbles edge and it was perfection with the ice cream flavors we picked. The service was quick and their little outdoor seating area is nice! Perfect place for a sweet treat. I'd get the croffle with ice cream next time!

First, they swapped out one of their best topping options -- the simple, crunchy cornflakes -- for a rainbow fruity‑pebbles-style topping. For a place that advertises organic ice‑cream, this choice feels completely off‑brand. Those colorful flakes are almost guaranteed to contain artificial dyes and flavorings, which contradicts the whole "organic" concept. On top of that, the topping is overly sweet and has such a strong flavor that it overpowers the ice‑cream unless you're eating a very neutral flavor like vanilla. It's just not a good match. And now, the biggest disappointment: they removed their best flavor, Taro, and replaced it with mango. Taro was unique, subtle, and one of the main reasons this shop stood out from the crowd. Mango is fine -- it's sweet and enjoyable -- but it doesn't compare as a replacement. Taro had a gentle sweetness that was satisfying without being overwhelming. Losing it takes away a lot of what made this place special. Please bring Taro back.
