I was strolling around the streets of Woodfield when I accidentally came across this place. I was so excited because it had been a while since I'd had Japanese soufflé pancakes. I ordered their signature soufflé pancakes, topped with homemade whipped cream and fresh fruit. I also paid a little extra for a scoop of ice cream, and I'm glad I did because it paired perfectly with the pancakes. The only downside is that the soufflé pancakes take a little while to prepare, but that's expected since they're made fresh. In my opinion, they're absolutely worth the wait. I'm also impressed by the variety on their menu. Besides their signature pancakes, they offer a great selection of breakfast dishes and sandwiches. I've only been to Fluffy Fluffy Cafe in person once, and it was just to pick up an online order to take to a party. Despite that, I have to give this cafe props for having a super clean restaurant, super friendly staff, and pretty great food too! When I arrived, I actually had to wait a good 10 minutes on my order since both of the employees on duty were in the back chatting and didn't realize I had come in. But once they realized I was there, they apologized and even offered me a free cheesecake *and* a free ice cream as a gift, which made up for the wait. I really appreciate this aspect of the cafe and its staff, it gives the place a more "human" touch. I ordered the soufflé pancakes, and they were delicious! Super light and fluffy and topped with fresh fruits and whipped cream. Overall, this is a very unique restaurant and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more

Our visit to Fluffy Fluffy was spontaneous since we originally came in for Kurimu next door. The vibes are bright and aesthetically pleasing. There were a lot of customers when we came in to eat which was not a surprise considering we went in on a Sunday so no big deal, we just came back when seats were more available. We took our order and sat on the only available seat which didn't have tissue dispenser which sucked. It seemed like not all tables had napkins dispensers. After we ordered, we sat and waited about 45 mins for our food. My party was not happy with the long wait but we gave them the benefit of the doubt since we did order a lot of food and it was a busy day. We had two different pancakes and an eggs Benedict with tater tots and a salad. The pancakes were cold and not as jiggly as I'm used to when it comes to a standard Japanese soufflé pancake. It tasted good but I wish they were fluffier! The eggs Benedict were delicious but the eggs were overcooked and we didn't get a runny egg. The fluffy pancakes were delicious! I agree with the other reviewers about the food taking a long time, but I will say it was worth it. There could be more seating as well, as it was packed when we came in and when we left. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. Came on a whim for dessert after dinner. There's quite a bit of seating, and it's quite clean--noticed the staff wiping tables after patrons left. The music is really loud and a bit of sensory overload for us. It was hard to have conversation and our kids kept shouting over the noise. There were some customers already seated when we arrived, but it looked like most had been served and were just chatting. We were the first round of new orders but the pancakes took forever...probably 30-40 minutes. I was not prepared to wait for that long. Husband wishes they would tell us upfront what the estimated wait time would have been because we probably wouldn't have ordered it then. What we got: Basque cheesecake slice - Actually wasn't a slice, and was a single little rounded serving. It looked whatever, but it tasted better than it looked. It had an almost creme brûlée flavor from the burnt top. Not bad. And for the price I think it's worth a try. This actually came out nearly right away. Glad we got this because if we waited for the pancake without anything else in the meantime our kids would have been antsier than they already were. Signature pancake - This was what took forever. For the price and the wait time I don't think it's worth it. This comes with whipped cream and fresh strawberries and blueberries. The pancake was eggy and light. Less whipped cream would make it better in my opinion--slightly too sweet with the generous scoop on too. If you have the time and you're willing to wait, it's worth a try. But if you have somewhere to be, I would say plan accordingly. Hopefully this is just growing pains of a new establishment? It's a fun idea in theory! Came here with my daughter at 4pm on a Wednesday for our weekly dinner date. We've been doing so since she was little so I always look forward to these. We both love Japanese fluffy pancakes so we were excited when we heard of this place opening. I ordered the Eggs Benedict fluffy pancakes and my daughter got the Nutella fluffy pancakes. Service was surprisingly slow, considering we were the only ones in the restaurant. Took about 35 min for the food to arrive. The food itself was great! The Eggs Benedict was delicious and the pancake was perfectly cooked. The bacon could be a bit more crispy, though, imo. The tater tots were awesome! Like seriously the best tater tots I've ever had. Nicely seasoned and crispy. My daughter also loved her Nutella pancake. However the service was a bit lacking. I also ordered a bottled water and a strawberry matcha latte, which never came until I asked the one person behind the counter for it (she didn't seem to be aware I even ordered it because she was about to charge me again for the matcha). When she finally brought it out, we were already done with our meal. No apology for not providing the matcha and water earlier. And while the food was great, the matcha was not. It was supposed to be a strawberry matcha but I barely tasted any strawberry in it. So it was very bitter. I'm willing to give it another shot and maybe the benefit of the doubt since it's newly opened. My hunt for finding the best ふわふわ Japanese style pancakes stateside (outside of Hawaii) might have found a winner at the Fluffy Fluffy Cake, recently opened in Schaumburg. My sister and I got the Nutella banana pancakes and they were delicious! The pancakes were very airy, and together with the chocolate, cream and banana made for a very satisfying bite every time. A single plate is a bit small for two people, but perhaps the perfect size if two people just wanted a little sweet treat. Otherwise, I would say a single plate is perfectly filling for one person. We spent a little over $100 for four people after seeing Fluffy Fluffy go viral on TikTok and deciding to give it a try. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which is the main reason I'm giving it an extra star. The pancakes were very good and were definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was disappointing. The eggs didn't taste good at all. I ordered them scrambled, but they were very plain, unseasoned, and tasted more like premixed liquid eggs than fresh eggs. The bacon was also disappointing. It tasted stale and cardboard-like rather than fresh and flavorful. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype we saw online. They have both savory and sweet fluffy pancakes along with a limited offering of croissant sandwiches and salads. Wait time for food is long and I can't tell if they've received my self kiosk order. I went here on 2 occasions. Before grand opening and first day of grand opening. The picture of the drink and pancakes (???) was during soft opening. As someone who loves to take photogenic food pics.. I was extremely disappointed. Where's the pancakes?! Then I went on grand opening day and was 8th in line. The opening was like a zoo but I guess that's to be expected but the pancakes once again, not great, just pointing out presentation wise. It was super hot that weekend but the ac was definitely not cranked up enough to accommodate the amount of people and the heat. Workers were great to start but as it got busier and more disorganized, you could tell they were also falling apart and the customer service started going downhill and this was only an hour in. I was waiting for my drink when people in line after me got their drink and food. Multiple people including myself had to go up to the hand out area to inquire about our drinks and/our food. I hope once the opening dies down things will be better. I will try again another time. I hope they can also make the pancakes fluffier too. My husband and I tried to come here the day of Fluffy Fluffy's soft opening, but it was hot and the line was already 30 people deep and we didn't have it in us to wait in 90+ temps and humidity. Seeing the photos from the early reviews, I had hoped they would have figured some things out in the two weeks since. Sadly, that is not the case. The short review is: don't waste your money. Background: my husband and I have made soufflé pancakes at home and respect the time and effort involved. I had the distinct pleasure of seeking out jiggly pancakes in Tokyo last year, and I'm also a fan of the Japanese pancake place in the city, which is nearly - but not quite - as good as the pancakes in Tokyo. First impressions - the team is very friendly and the space is efficient. The next thing we noticed was our table and at least the one next to it had not been well cleaned at close last night (we were the first customers, so there is no good excuse). The lattes we ordered were really tasty. But the pancakes... they just aren't good. They lack structure, height and have no eggy flavor (or any flavor at all) as one would expect from soufflé pancakes. They were thoroughly cooked, so the reason they are not as tall as expected is the recipe or the whipping of the eggs whites, which explains why most of the photos from here look the same. I also should have asked for the whipped cream on the side, but I feel like it's really there to hide the half-effort underneath them anyway. Our experience was an expensive disappointment. We had the tiramisu pancakes and chicken & croffle....they were good! I had a matcha latte, no complaints. It is pricey, but so is everything else! I can see how people get frustrated with the wait, but you have to understand the process and be patient. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Should have 2 people working the front. Matcha flavor was very subtle. The pancake itself? I will go buy again and bring others with me. There were 4 of us. We split 2 plates orders because they are expensive with not much fruits to go with it. $16-$19 per order. They also have other menus that I saw people eating like croissan'wich. I asked for cup water and they actually give you a cup with bottled water in it. That's a plus. Visited on a Friday morning for a brunch date, it wasn't overly crowded. You have the option of ordering via the kiosk and there was also a person manning the register. Tip: if you go to the website, you can get a deal for any fluffy pancake & drink (latte, refresher, etc.) for $21. I couldn't get the deal to work for me, but I showed it to her and she very kindly gave me the discount. They do have signs that you need to wait 15-20 minutes if ordering the fluffy pancakes, which is actually pretty quick for Japanese fluffy pancakes. They brought ours out very quickly. I had the matcha pancakes, there are two on there and there is a nice light topping along with fresh strawberries. We also ordered the egg benedict that was on top of the fluffy pancakes, that came with basic tater tots and a Japanese salad. This place is a bit pricey, but with the coupon deal they have online it's actually pretty reasonable deal if you want something different for your brunch. The place was pretty clean when I went there, and the music was pretty quiet. I think if you go at the right time, have your coupon deal ready, go in knowing that you will have to wait for the fluffy pancakes - it's all good! read more

Stopped in around 11 am on a Sunday morning. It was very busy and loud but cute inside. We were in line waiting to order on the 1 kiosk at the counter. That meant standing in the aisle right next to seated people trying to eat. The soufle pancake was not very good. The fruit on top was very cold and the small cup of chocolate sauce was very cold. We have had amazing soufle pancakes at Hanabusa in Chicago and these were pretty poor in comparison. The strawberry refresher was excellent!
