Although the salon is unique with lovely staff I had a pretty unfortunate experience. I went for a blonde touch up that ended up not really lifting the color at all and if anything was very streaky. When Danni reached out to me after the appointment I expressed my dissatisfaction. She asked me for photos to confirm. I began going to fluff a few years ago, but after two sets of hair, my hair was shorter than when i started going there because Aaryn totally fried my hair. I went to Fluff for balayage highlights, expecting a natural, blended look, but the results were very disappointing. As you can see in the attached photo, the highlights are stark and uneven, with noticeable lines instead of the soft, gradual transition I asked for. It doesn't look like a balayage at all--more like poorly placed streaks that clash with my natural hair. When I brought up my concerns during the appointment, my stylist (won't name them but they have bright yellow/red hair for your reference) didn't seem interested in addressing them or offering solutions. I've now had to book an appointment elsewhere to fix the mistakes, which has been frustrating and costly. If you're looking for natural, well-blended balayage highlights, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

This is really disappointing that I have to write this review. I came in 5 weeks ago for a full head of hair extensions and color. The color was fine, but the extensions ruined my hair. Immediately when I left, you could see tapes sticking out of my head. My boyfriend even commented that they were really visible, but being a first time extension wearer I didn't know if that was standard. The extensions were not cut at all, and were left looking choppy and much longer than my natural hair. The stylist told me the "only way to cover up the length difference between my natural hair and extensions is to curl your hair". Why not just cut them? Huh. I went to have my extensions re taped at another salon because I was not happy with my services at fluff. To my surprise though, my hair was ruined. All of the tape was stuck to my hair, and my hair dresser spent 2 hours combing it and trying to get out the glue. It is still stuck on my head. My hairdresser now told me if I were to re tape the extensions I got from fluff, I would lose a significant amount of hair from damage. I now have to re order an all new set of extensions after paying nearly $1500 a month ago for new hair. This is so upsetting. My hairdresser told me I would for sure get a refund after what had happened to me. She took pictures to show the business, and had me take home my extensions to show as well. When I called to try and talk to an owner about my experience, I was given excuse after excuse as to why I could not speak with her. After my boyfriend had to grab the phone to start getting stern, she finally got on the phone with me after nearly 20 minutes of trying. I was told by both the owner and manager that I could not have any help with what had been done other than get a "stylist to look at my hair and re do it". No, I do not want fluff touching my hair again. The trauma of practically going bald from their poorly placed extensions was enough to scare me away. But the gaslighting and victim blaming from both the owner and manager was shocking and beyond me. They both asked why I didn't come back to them if I thought there was a problem. And then told me it was probably my new stylist that screwed up my hair. Seriously? When I had just about lost it, I told them I would take my concerns to yelp and google. The lady on the phone then told me I was bullying a small business. Really? Really? I have never been treated so poor from a business in my entire life. It was as if they were mad AT ME from the start for having a problem. There was sympathy whatsoever. Only victim blaming and telling me I'm a bully. It's so disappointing. I really hope the owner looks into their practices here. I get that stylists screw up sometimes, we're all human. I'm not necessarily upset at the salon itself, but once I spoke with them about what had happened it was THEN that I really realized it was the business that had serious issues. No concern what so ever about my balding head. Just telling me it was most likely my fault and that I signed a contract so their butt is off the hook. I guess I have to accept the mistreatment and move on from this. I don't think there is any way they'd like to make it right - other than "having another stylist re do my hair". That's not what I want. I don't think that's hard to understand. However, I hope people take my warnings to heart. I was flat out scammed and the contract is what they use to keep people like me, who get botched, from being able to do anything. This is malpractice at its finest. I am sad to write this review and did not want to do it if they made it right. But they didn't. Please think twice about going here. read more

My whole service was botched. I left the salon looking like a caveman and paid over $200 to get a blow out that looked like I just rolled out of bed. My hair was so full of tangles. I came back to have the stylist look at the mess and was refused the option to see a manager or speak to anyone else. The salon is very pretty though it was a little messy when we got there but apparently they had a very busy Saturday. The girls were all very sweet and friendly and the champagne for my bridal party was a nice little touch too. As for the actual blowouts that we received they were okay but not exactly what we had asked for. Again the girls were great and maybe we had too high of expectations. We all had pictures of styles that we wanted for our night out in downtown Denver but none of the 4 in our party were 100% satisfied with our hair post blowout. My hair was overly fluffy and stiff while flat up top. My friends hair didn't have enough product and fell flat an hour later. Another friend had asked for just volume and very loose waves but got tight waves and no volume. And my other friend walked away with hair that smelled burnt, we think the stylist left the curler in for too long on some of her strands. Honestly downtown Denver doesn't have a lot of blowout options. I think it's only this place and one other in the downtown vicinity. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. I am not usually the one to write bad reviews, much less reviews at all. But my experience with this place was so poor I have to get this out into the world so that maybe what happened to me doesn't happen to you (or your mom-ON YOUR WEDDING DAY). I scheduled my mom an appointment on my wedding day to get her makeup and hair done at Fluff bar. She was so excited going into the experience because she has never had her makeup done before. Long story short the makeup was AWFUL. Her foundation was not blended and her lashes looked atrocious. My mom is pretty shy so when the artist got done she asked if they could make adjustments but when they did it only got worse. When she went to pay she was at the point of tears... I know this because both my grandma and stepmom were also there getting their makeup and hair done. She was embarrassed to tell the girl to re-do her makeup. I think we can all agree that having your makeup done by a stranger can be nervewracking, so when it looks bad it can be awkward to ask for the artist to change it. When my mom got back to our suite where I was getting ready she was so upset. She was trying to hold back her tears because she didn't want me to get upset but I was so sad for her. There is nothing worse than not liking the way your makeup looks. I called the Fluff bar back to ask them for a refund and they told me they do not issue refunds. They said because my mom left the salon that there is nothing they could do. At this point, we were meant to start our photos in 1 hour so there was no time for my mom to drive back and have her makeup redone. When I explained this to the woman at the front desk she said there was nothing they could do and was in fact extremely rude about it and actually hung up on me, they would not answer the call when I tried to call back on my phone. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the way this was handled. I am also in a service-based industry and it is standard to issue a refund if your customer is not satisfied with the work you have done. I have had to request a dispute from my bank to get the refund. All in all, I would think twice before you get anything done here. read more

100% recommend Emmy from Fluff Bar (and Fluff Bar in general) for cuts and colors. I grew up with a hairstylist as a step mom so as you can imagine, I'm extremely particular about who touches my hair. I've only let 3 people cut/color my hair my entire life- and Emmy's one of them. Everything about my visit was absolutely amazing. Not only is Emmy genuinely so fun to sit and talk to throughout the service but she also did an incredible job on my hair. I came in for a (sort of) reverse balayage- I wanted my roots to be black and to subtly fade into my natural hair color. The end result was beautiful & exactly what I pictured in my head. Update: This company was not happy with the review I had left below, so they went out of their way to create an entire website in my name to defame my character. They have done this to others as well. I would definitely steer clear from using any services here or they may attack you as well if you are an unsatisfied customer. So sad that a business can do this, on the other hand I am flattered that they have so much time to spend on me to create such websites and such. Was nothing I expected. My hair and makeup was okay but far from ideal. Great in pictures, but caked on super thick and not natural as requested. Would not return. Disappointed that I wasn't taken care of more politely in regards to a confusing Groupon request. Even though Fluff itself does not take Groupon, some of their staff does, and the same address is attached to the Groupon. But apparently, you have to request a Groupon affiliated staff member or you are out of luck. This confusion left me with a Groupon that I paid for and couldn't even use because there was not a staff member available at the time I needed. You would have thought that Fluff would be more understanding, but instead the girl at the front just kept telling me its too bad if I don't have a confirmation, there is nothing they will do for me. Wow! Fluff should advise their staff members that use Groupon to be clear about this on the platform. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I went to Fluff Color Makeup Blow-dry Bar on June 18th with Paige for a Partial Balayage. After the service and blow-dry the cost came to $199. Paige was extremely sweet and nice to talk to but when it came to my "partial balayage" I received the exact opposite. First of all, I sat in the salon chair from 2:00PM-6:00PM. While blow drying my hair Paige notices my hair lifted extremely orange, after toning it. She had dried half of my head at this point and took a squirt bottle to the top of my head to re-tone specific pieces up top. After repeating this process THREE times and washing and blow drying my hair over and over again while maintaining the same orange color, she continued to finish drying my hair and curling it because she had another client sitting next to us that was being started late since Paige was behind from dealing with my hair. I offered to come back the next day because I wasn't in a hurry and it's not a cheap service so I would much rather come back and have it done correctly and not rushed but Paige insisted she didn't need another day to finish it. When we finished it was very apparent I was not happy with the results but thanked her anyway knowing very well I'd be calling to schedule a correction the second I got in the car. When I called to let them know I was unhappy and was not satisfied with my service and would like someone other than Paige to preform my correction the front desk girl proceeded to tell me that if I had someone else do it I would have to pay full price. I thought that was a bit absurd because I've had corrections done in the past by someone other the person who messed it up to begin with. Makes sense right? Regardless I gave Paige the benefit of the doubt only to be extremely disappointed, again. When I sat down in the salon chair Paige expresses to me, "Oh my gosh I'm so glad you came back in because honestly I was not happy at all with the color you left with and I don't know what got into me yesterday I was just not in the zone but we will totally fix it today, it'll be an easy fix!" So... Okay no big deal, people mess up and I understand there's a lot of room for error when it comes to coloring hair but the fact that I had to reach out to the salon to make a correction appointment when my hairdresser admitted and knew VERY well that what I walked out with was unacceptable is BEYOND me. She should have been honest and told me to come back the next day and I would have appreciated that so much more than her crossing her fingers that maybe I'd accept it and wouldn't come back to get it fixed. As she starts my hair she tells me she didn't use a high enough developer and that's why my hair didn't lift the other day. So she used a higher volume and left me to process for over an hour. As a result of that, the front ends of my hair FRIED off. I left the salon with bangs that I didn't ask for. Again the color was horrid and when she wanted to curl my hair I said don't even bother and left that place immediately. I sent photos to the owner Brittany and told her everything that had happened. She phoned me a few days after emailing and offering me a gift card and told me the same thing over the phone. I told her that I don't live in Colorado anymore and I was back in Arizona so a gift certificate would be of no use to me. She refused to give me a refund even though she agreed my hair was not up to their standards and was unacceptable. The most ridiculous part was that she offered to refund me my gratuity for her own employee over the service that was botched. I told her I would take the gift certificate and I would be writing an honest review and she proceeded to tell me she would only give me the gift certificate if I made sure not to write a review. I told her hell no I will absolutely be writing an honest review and I hope everyone sees it. When I got back to Arizona I had another hairstylist correct if for now the THIRD time and she worked her magic in 1/3 the amount of time for half the cost AND nailed it on her first try!! I thought they did a great job on the balayage, the studio was super cute, staff is super nice, and they offer you champagne. All great qualities. However, I probably won't come back because it was a little pricey for what you got. 1) $139 for partial balayage 2) $30 for toner (which is generally included in my balayage treatments) and 3) it's an extra $30 for them to blow dry and do light curls at the end. $200 isn't that crazy especially if I was still in LA but I have another studio where I can get all of that done for a little over a hundred. Definitely not disappointed in the quality just think they should be a little more clear about the costs of the add ons. read more

My sister got married last weekend, and before the wedding photos, the bridal party all came here for fluffing. I enjoyed the decor, and it was fun to watch Legally Blonde. However, the best part was the stylists. I had only a vague idea of what I wanted (an up-do that was classic enough to not make me cringe in fifty years when I look at photos), but the stylists managed to give me exactly what I wanted, even without me really knowing. I made a last-minute decision to get my makeup done as well. Again, I had no real idea of what I wanted, so I showed the lovely makeup artist what I was wearing and she gave me a great look. Fluff Bar is also solely responsible for my new desire to learn how to apply false eyelashes. I got some put on, and I'm a believer!
