I wanted to love this place. It wasn't too far away and they specialized in natural hair. Went once for my first wash n go and scheduled a silk press and facial for the following week. The person doing my hair was sick so they notified me via text. Asking if I wanted to reschedule. There was a lot of back and forth via text regarding the facial that was also scheduled for the same day. I wanted to cancel but their app won't let you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. I didn't get a response to the cancel request until the next day, which was by text. My frustration could have been prevented if only someone would have picked up the phone and made a quick call to let me know my appt was canceled and at the same time given me the opportunity to cancel the facial and reschedule both at a later date. One phone call is more efficient than multiple texts back and forth. read more

Let me start out by saying that I have had multiple people recommend Joy to me at separate times. One of these people was a woman I randomly met on a plane; we struck up a conversation about hair, and she highly recommended that I see Joy. I finally booked my first appointment with Joy last fall (let me just be corny for a second) it was really a joy!! She gave me a fabulous cut; that helped revitalize my curls and give body to my fine hair. I recently did a Platinum Treatment and sat under the steamer for 20 minutes, and my scalp and hair feel fantastic! I can't stress enough how much she cares about hair health. It is her top priority as it should be for any hair stylist. Also, she doesn't hold any of her styling and healthy hair secrets to herself; she educates you so that in between appointments you can manage your hair and maintain your hair health. And to put the icing on the cake, she can style her *** off! She may be more on the expensive side for some, but the quality of service and her level of professionalism are uncanny and well worth every penny she charges. She is punctual; she does not overbook clients, she is personable, and she knows what she's doing!
