Quaint little pub situated on the second floor inside the Windsor Hotel. Food was good, drinks were great. My server and bartender was Sam. She was super pleasant, offered nice conversation and answered all of my questions. I didn't have a super long wait even though the restaurant was pretty full. My only complaint was that my burger was flipped upside down inside my container unfortunately so the presentation wasn't the best. The waffle fries it was served with seems like they could have been taken out a little sooner as they are kinda dark but it could have been that it was just time to change the oil. An absolute NO for me! Our service was good, but the kitchen was not. At least four orders were sent to the table prepared incorrectly. I asked for a med-well burger, nope! Undercooked and bloody. I used to have hope for this place, no longer. Go for drinks, not food. But you might not be waited on, it took bringing the server from the other restaurant at least 30 minutes. Sumter County needs to charge Floyd's Pub with vandalism the way they've defiled the beautiful Windsor Hotel. My girlfriend and I arrived at the Windsor at 8pm ready to hang out at the Windsor bar til 10pm or so, so were confused when we went upstairs and found "Floyds Pub" instead. "Who's Floyd?" was our first thought, and "Why is this pub so hideous" was our second. First, let's leave the "Pub" title at the door. Floyd's is as much a pub as a dalmatian is a pug. Pubs are cozy, dimly lit, venues where the focus is on drinking and conversation. Floyds, on the other hand, more embodies the 2003 sports bar aesthetic, where cheap furniture, LED lights, and apathetic staff reign supreme. This clashes horribly with the Windsor Hotel, whose award winning interior seems fitting for a President-- literally. Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter are semi-frequent residents here. Our Floyd's staff experience was also quite odd. The servers and bartenders lacked all semblance of professionalism or cool; qualities I don't expect from quick-service bar staff but do from those staffing the most famous bar in a city. Rather than pulling from the hip element down at Georgia Southwestern, the owner has opted to hire a middle aged team that bring to mind Sumter County's rich history of substance abuse. Floyd's has also replaced the beautiful rockers on the patio with sterile, cheap, tablesets from restaurant depot, thus robbing the outdoors of all personality. My girlfriend and I only got beers so can't comment on the food or cocktail quality (Hence the 3 stars instead of lower), but if you're looking to continue your Windsor Hotel experience do not go to Floyd's Pub. Go to one of the many nice, cozy restaurants down the road. read more

The service, ambience, and location were excellent. But the sandwiches we had were very sad. My ribeye sandwich came on a 6 inch hoagie roll. The ribeye was one thinly sliced 4 inch piece of meat topped with a single square of craft American cheese. Under it was two pieces of lettuce and one slice of tomato olive which have been warmed under a heat lamp for quite some time. there is no sauce, no juice, and no flavor to speak of. The bun was clearly oversized for the pitiful amount of filling that was put on it. My wife's French dip had sat under the heat lamps for so long that the beef had become crispy on the edges. It arrived without Au juis which did eventually show up and was desperately needed. Anyway, if you come, I would avoid the sad sandwiches and maybe just drink the alcohol. read more

For the love of God, don't sit inside at the pub unless you want to hear constant dishes being slammed and the bartenders hating each other. They merged the pub and the Rosemary restaurant during COVID so the only option is to sit in the pub if you want dine in. There's outdoor seating available too, but that was all taken. The food was all great. They have you sanitize your hands and check your temperature on your wrist prior to entering, which is nice. For the most part, the staff were all pretty good about wearing their masks properly. read more

Another sad experience at Floyd's. Two waitresses couldn't be bothered to seat me. I sat myself at the bar... and 5 minutes later, the bartender took a drink order, and made me a great Old Fashioned. Kudos on the cocktail. I won't detail the next 5 minutes of shenanigans in the bar area that would see several people fired. 15 minutes in... the bartender brings me a menu and asks if I'm interested. The lobby in The Windsor is stunning. Floyd's is on the second floor and you can take the elevator or stairs. They were busy inside and on the balcony. Service was prompt. Waitress was really nice and apologetic that the kitchen, that only has 1 fryer, wouldn't pan fry a couple of fried green tomatoes for a menu sandwich for someone with a severe food allergy. The main dining room, Rosemary and Thyme, was closed but they were serving some menu items at Floyd's Pub. The positives: safety precautions were in place (hand sanitizer, temperature checks, social distancing, etc. ), the spinach dip, the salad and the drinks were all delicious. The waitress, Britney, was very nice. The negatives: If they can open up the pub they should be able to open up the dining room. The pimento cheese balls were just ok. I don't like single use plastics. They did have real plates, napkins and utensils but they used multiple single use plastic cup for the beverages. Came here for Happy Hour - late in February but 85 degrees (wow!) - and had the pleasure of sitting out on the balcony area overlooking the main street of downtown Americus... (more wow!). What a lovely town. And what a great space for an after work bit of time for rejuvenation, and celebration of community. The HH specials are limited, but adequate, and well-priced. And I can say enough "yay" and good stuff about the pico de gallo and nachos - I don't know that I have ever had lighter and tastier chips that these. Not at all greasy or heavy. Almost airy. I could have eaten these all night. My hope is to visit Americus again,- and try additional items at this place. Highly recommend. read more

Try it! Since covid hit and they are doing outdoor dining, the food is phenomenal! They do a different type of food each month along with a combined Rosemary and thyme menu and floyds best sellers. We moved to Americus roughly 5 months ago. We thoroughly enjoy going to Floyd's for cocktails and food. The outside seating has rocking chairs....so you cant go wrong with that. We had our family in town and brought them to Floyd's. Our server, Scott was exceptional. He was attentive and accommodating. He knew exactly what drinks to offer us and was just pleasant all around. Wicker rocking chairs on a rooftop patio? Gorgeous location in a (recently restored) historic hotel built in 1892? $2.50 cocktails during happy hour? Only bar in town open past 9pm on a Saturday? Yes, please! For all of these reasons, Floyd's is a winner. Skip the $7 glasses of house wine and go straight for the cocktails, which have generous pours and rock bottom prices. They had plenty of servers at all hours, so you'll never wait for a drink, regardless of if you're sitting at the bar, a table, or one of the aforementioned wicker rockers. The people watching, particularly after 10pm, also merits mention, as it was fantastic, in the way that only small towns can offer. Overall, if your travels take you to Americus, Floyd's is definitely worth a stop. read more

Surprisingly Good We stayed at the wonderful Windsor Hotel for one night. We weren't quite in the mood for the hotel's more formal restaurant, so we went to their simpler Floyd's Pub. It is a typical bar & grill with a couple of TVs showing football. Service was quite amiable. We really enjoyed the Rylander Burger and the Fish Tacos, both accompanied by a chopped salad.
