I came in to order two small table settings. The florist, Glenn was professional and asked me the right questions. At the end, I received two gorgeous table settings that the florist created himself. It was so beautiful and fresh! Flowers were amazing and the decorated pieces were stunning! And reasonably priced. I'm very happy and I highly recommend! read more

Extremely disappointing experience\. I went in simply wanting to understand what flowers would be used on my engagement cake and how they would be prepared and placed, since I'm not a florist and had never dealt with this before\. Instead of answering my questions, he became rude and aggressive, saying it was such a simple thing that even his child could do and that in 10 years he had never had a customer ask so many questions\. I never raised my voice or acted disrespectfully, yet he told me he felt uncomfortable and actually **kicked me out of the store**\. I was shocked and completely disrespected\. I was simply trying to understand what I was paying for, and I would absolutely not recommend this florist based on the way I was treated\. read more

I searched online for Staten Island florists for Funeral flowers. This was the only florist that had designs that stood out as creative, and used other types of flowers other than the typical carnations and red or white roses. The price was comparable to other funeral arrangements but because of the quality, I thought it was a better value. I called to ask if they could deliver them by a certain time the next morning. They were helpful, honest, and kind on the phone. They arrived on time and were the absolutely gorgeous. Wonderful experience. I highly recommend. I will be using them in the future for all floral arrangements. read more

I used Flowers By Bernard on Amboy Road for this years floral needs. They arrived fresh, early and looked excellent. The staff was very helpful, kind and helped me promptly. They are fragrant, colorful, and arrived like the floral arranger was in the truck pruning and placing the flowers right then and there. The price was excellent even though we all know how expensive stuff is nowadays. I highly recommend Bernard's at both locations. Now that I've used both I can say wonderful things about both. read more

We needed flowers as we were visiting someone in a rehab/nursing home. We called up this shop "Flowers By Bernard" on Hylan Blvd and we explained our situation and how we wanted to spend a certain amt of money and we'd be picking up the arrangement. Upon arrival at first glance of the flowers, We were so thrilled with the beautiful arrangement that was made for us for an elderly relative. The arrangement was colorful and just gorgeous and was wrapped up securely within a vase and a sturdy traveling box. Will definitely be back for further florist needs. We Highly recommend this florist for all your floral needs! read more

I love them. In the midst of what I'm sure was a hectic Valentines Day week, I walked in and asked for a $60 bouquet. I didn't have any preference, because I don't chat about flowers with my girlfriend, so I told the cashier I trusted their expertise. When I got the flowers I said, "Wow," out loud. They were absolutely beautiful. My girlfriend, and the people she shared photos of the the flowers with, loved them. I'll be back. read more

I went with Flowers By Bernard for my wedding on 9/23/23. We ordered flower arrangements for the aisle in the ceremony and also a flower arch, the boitennaries and bouquets. Also long stemmed roses to give to our mother in laws. The flowers for the bridal party were delivered to my house so we had them for pictures and the other flowers were brought directly to the venue and set up there I also had a flower arrangement for our sweetheart table. The flowers were beautiful and in perfect condition. The bouquets were beautifully wrapped. I will definitely use them again in the future. read more

Always a good experience ordering an arrangement from Flowers by Bernard. They are a great local option on Staten Island rather than using a big internet floral company. The arrangements I have ordered always look fresh and seem to be nicer than average for the cost. I would recommend them! read more

Elissa and Michelle welcomed us with a warm friendly greeting. They both were helpful as we decided to purchase 2 dozen red roses for delivery to funeral home for a deceased family member. Awful experience. Have been a customer of this small business for more than a decade, but no more. I ordered a bouquet for same-day delivery (as advertised), and what arrived not only looked nothing like the picture on their website, it was ugly as sin. When I calmly called to inquire, the florist screamed at me, spoke over me, and then hung up. Poor taste and even worse customer service, sadly, will have me buying flowers elsewhere. read more

Thank you to Elissa Carpenter and her Team at Flowers by Bernard on Hylan Blvd. The extraordinary flower arrangements you made for our wedding at Casa Belvedere, not only nailed the vision - they exceeded our expectations! Our tables had asymmetrical sprays of autumn bounty layered with bright and warm colors, textured greens and the off-beat addition of mixed fruits and kales to present a "Downton Abbey" meets "rustic harvest" presentation. The candelabras were rented from Flowers by Bernard, and we provided the gold compote bowls. The mix of different vessels (Elissa's suggestion) gave both height and depth to the space. Our guests marveled over the beauty of these special (and unique) arrangements all night. The rooms were simply "alive" with color, depth and texture. The arrangements were incredibly rich and regal, yet relaxed and natural - a delicate balancing act that you executed with PERFECTION. It's been a week, and our lucky friends and family who took home a piece claim they are still alive and enjoying them in their homes. We appreciate your service, professionalism, creative talent, attention to detail, quality of merchandise and genuine kindness as we co-created an unusual combination of elements that adorned our venue and paid the perfect homage to our personalities. You are true Artists and kindred spirits! read more

Flowers by Bernard did my son's wedding this April. People are still talking about how beautiful the flowers were. Also, he used tall vases so the people could see across the table without the flowers obstructing their view. They used cherry blossoms that were in season so the price was reasonable and they looked magnificent! Irv was a pleasure to work with. He went to the venue to see what it looked like and offered suggestions to us. When we wanted to add more flowers, he said it was unnecessary. There was no over sell. We were delighted and would use him again in a heartbeat. read more

Received some of the freshest healthiest flowers I've seen in a long time; considering we're on COVID-19 related lockdown I was extremely surprised and pleased about this. The location of this florist is so convenient, it's just a short walk from my home. It's has a cute homey atmosphere and it always smells lovely. All the flowers are displayed right in front of the store when you walk in. Ranging from all colors and assortments of flowers. They are able to customize what color you'd like, or flower and even price. There are also pre-made bouquets if you're in a rush. They wrap it up with very pretty decoration and you are able to write out a message on the little cards they have displayed near the register! The older woman and gentleman are the sweetest people and cater to what I'm looking for at all times. I come here for all my flowers and bouquets. I've recommended them to friends and all say the same. Great jobs guys! Thank you! read more

I went here for Valentine's Day, one day earlier as to avoid a rush. I told an employee what I needed and how much I'd like to spend, and she was very considerate and knowledgeable with the options available. I was able to pay in full the day before, went here this afternoon and picked up a great bouquet of roses. I don't know too much about flowers, but the arrangement was very fragrant and lively. All in all it was a very good experience and I would revisit in the future if I need flowers (hopefully I will). read more

The owner was so kind to me on a day I really needed it. Wonderful people and beautiful flowers.

Ordered flowers online and got a confirmation email. Flowers were never delivered. When I called the store the next day to inquire, was given another number to call. Was told they were closed that day but no mention of it when I placed an order. When flowers were finally delivered it looked nothing like an image on website. I understand that the flowers in any arrangement may get substituted based on what's available at the time but at least resemble what's ordered. Not the case here. In fact it didn't have a single pink flower in it as pictured on a website even though the arrangement was for a new baby girl. After contacting the store, nobody even got back to clarify. read more

My friend order the flowers from them for my brithday , the guy call me at my brithday around three o'clock pm and is my day off but I'm not home at that time so I told him to delivers to me later but he said he will do that the next day , I told him to make it early befor 9:39 cause I have to work and the guy came at 1025am plus he want me to go down stair with bad attitude and also the flowers were so dry terrible very upsad brithday ! read more

Ruined Mother's Day!! The delivery driver delivered flowers to my 60yr old mother and said "I hope you have a F'd up Mothers Day" while doing so. His reason: No one was home to receive the flowers and he made several attempts so he was frustrated. This is completely unacceptable. When I contacted this company, to speak with someone in charge, they hung up on me, refused to give me the name of the delivery driver, and refused to resolve the matter amicably. Im totally disgusted. Calling Better Business Bureau. These people shouldn't be in BUSINESS!! read more

Perfect !!! I recently hosted a bridal shower for my daughter and wanted something unique for centerpieces. Flowers by Bernard captured just that. The entire staff was wonderful to work with. They were patient with me as I explained the vision I had in mind and extremely helpful in bringing it to life. The "pull away" centerpiece , which then served as the favor for my guests, was a big hit !!! "Flowers by Bernard" found me a beautiful, vibrant in the color I wanted (orange) , low maintenance plant , the Kalanchoe. Wonderful choice. Best thing of all, the "Bride to be" loved it too!!" I ordered flowers for valentines day and they were a little more on the dead side when they were delivered. I called up and was told that due to the extremely cold weather this problem had occurred to some arrangements. I was then told they would be replaced as soon as possible for no extra charge. It was an extremely pleasant exchange. Fast forward one day and my girlfriend sent me a picture of the replacement flowers which were 10x nicer than what the original arrangement should have been. I will always go to Bernard now. read more

I love this place. I've been here multiple times since it's no more than a block away from my house. Every time I've been there I'm always greeted with a very nice person that is willing to assist me. I've gotten multiple bouquet's ranging from $15-$25 and asked them to just pick whatever you think looks best and I've never been let down once. The $15 bouquet looked like a $30 bouquet anywhere else, and the $25 bouquet looked like a $50 bouquet anywhere else. They're also extremely friendly and even threw in a couple of extra roses since it was for my mothers birthday. Even for prom my girlfriend and I went there together and showed the person a picture of what she wanted and they made it 10x more beautiful and it was very quick and easy process. I highly recommend this flower shop, I've had nothing but good experiences. read more
