I searched online for Staten Island florists for Funeral flowers. This was the only florist that had designs that stood out as creative, and used other types of flowers other than the typical carnations and red or white roses. The price was comparable to other funeral arrangements but because of the quality, I thought it was a better value. I called to ask if they could deliver them by a certain time the next morning. They were helpful, honest, and kind on the phone. They arrived on time and were the absolutely gorgeous. Wonderful experience. I highly recommend. We needed flowers as we were visiting someone in a rehab/nursing home. We called up this shop "Flowers By Bernard" on Hylan Blvd and we explained our situation and how we wanted to spend a certain amt of money and we'd be picking up the arrangement. Upon arrival at first glance of the flowers, We were so thrilled with the beautiful arrangement that was made for us for an elderly relative. I went with Flowers By Bernard for my wedding on 9/23/23. We ordered flower arrangements for the aisle in the ceremony and also a flower arch, the boitennaries and bouquets. Also long stemmed roses to give to our mother in laws. The flowers for the bridal party were delivered to my house so we had them for pictures and the other flowers were brought directly to the venue and set up there I also had a flower arrangement for our sweetheart table. Awful experience. Have been a customer of this small business for more than a decade, but no more. I ordered a bouquet for same-day delivery (as advertised), and what arrived not only looked nothing like the picture on their website, it was ugly as sin. Flowers by Bernard did my son's wedding this April. People are still talking about how beautiful the flowers were. Also, he used tall vases so the people could see across the table without the flowers obstructing their view. They used cherry blossoms that were in season so the price was reasonable and they looked magnificent! Irv was a pleasure to work with. He went to the venue to see what it looked like and offered suggestions to us. When we wanted to add more flowers, he said it was unnecessary. There was no over sell. The location of this florist is so convenient, it's just a short walk from my home. It's has a cute homey atmosphere and it always smells lovely. All the flowers are displayed right in front of the store when you walk in. Ranging from all colors and assortments of flowers. They are able to customize what color you'd like, or flower and even price. There are also pre-made bouquets if you're in a rush. They wrap it up with very pretty decoration and you are able to write out a message on the little cards they have displayed near the register! The owner was so kind to me on a day I really needed it. Wonderful people and beautiful flowers.

I went here for Valentine's Day, one day earlier as to avoid a rush. I told an employee what I needed and how much I'd like to spend, and she was very considerate and knowledgeable with the options available. I was able to pay in full the day before, went here this afternoon and picked up a great bouquet of roses. I don't know too much about flowers, but the arrangement was very fragrant and lively. All in all it was a very good experience and I would revisit in the future if I need flowers (hopefully I will). read more

Ordered flowers online and got a confirmation email. Flowers were never delivered. When I called the store the next day to inquire, was given another number to call. Was told they were closed that day but no mention of it when I placed an order. When flowers were finally delivered it looked nothing like an image on website. I understand that the flowers in any arrangement may get substituted based on what's available at the time but at least resemble what's ordered. Not the case here. Ruined Mother's Day!! The delivery driver delivered flowers to my 60yr old mother and said "I hope you have a F'd up Mothers Day" while doing so. His reason: No one was home to receive the flowers and he made several attempts so he was frustrated. This is completely unacceptable. When I contacted this company, to speak with someone in charge, they hung up on me, refused to give me the name of the delivery driver, and refused to resolve the matter amicably. I called up and was told that due to the extremely cold weather this problem had occurred to some arrangements. I was then told they would be replaced as soon as possible for no extra charge. I love this place. I've been here multiple times since it's no more than a block away from my house. Every time I've been there I'm always greeted with a very nice person that is willing to assist me. I've gotten multiple bouquet's ranging from $15-$25 and asked them to just pick whatever you think looks best and I've never been let down once. The $15 bouquet looked like a $30 bouquet anywhere else, and the $25 bouquet looked like a $50 bouquet anywhere else. They're also extremely friendly and even threw in a couple of extra roses since it was for my mothers birthday. Even for prom my girlfriend and I went there together and showed the person a picture of what she wanted and they made it 10x more beautiful and it was very quick and easy process. I highly recommend this flower shop, I've had nothing but good experiences. read more
