I needed some pastries for a teacher appreciation thing at my kids school so we decided to go with her homemade pop tarts. Although I love everything I have ever tasted that she makes, her pop tarts are super unique. And they are DELICIOUS. I've now tried strawberry, blueberry, and chocolate and they are all phenomenal. We were able to schedule an order to pickup about a week later, and she is so nice about being willing to make an assortment of flavors, and even packaging her new "pecan pie" ones separately, just in case anyone has an allergy. Love it! Little things like that go a long way in my book as far as service goes. The shop is small, but very cute. I love how woodsy and earthy everything looks. Her cake stands are round slices of wood and she has cute earthy decor all around. She was super busy, preparing for the pecan festival the day we were in, so the cases were empty but she was happy to tell us all about the things she had available in the back still. I'll definitely be back to order more.

Most tables are for 2, with a couple bigger tables. I ordered shakshouka: the flavor was good, blend of veggies in a tomato base. I'm giving four because the business is still being run out of the owner's home. I hope she gets a store front soon! The products are also a bit pricey. They are absolutely worth it, but it has to be a special occasion for me to spend this much for treats. But, the cookies are truly works of art!

There aren't very many places that stick out in colonial heights Virginia but Milk and Honey…read morepictures of the food online caught my attention, when we arrived we were greeted and seated very nicely by the hostess/waitress, the place was clean the aesthetics were very nice, restroom clean. We ordered deviled eggs, calamari, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and a cup of gumbo, everything was brought out promptly and hot which is great my only critique is the drinks are small for the price and the fried deviled eggs are not well thought out. The albumin (egg whites) I assume I've boiled, possibly sitting then battered and deep fried cause the whites to become like plastic making them almost completely inedible, however the yolk filling was tasty. I noticed in the pictures the grits dish had sausages I didn't get any. Other than those few things I recommend and will return when I visit again.
