Today, Wednesday 03/12/25 at approximately 06:30pm. I visit the Florida restaurant after the new remodel. The food was good, the only thing that I found is a hair on my appetizer mariquitas. I notified the waitress and showed her the hair, she didn't even say sorry. The food was ok, but at least it's not like the past before the remodel that the food arrived cold. The only thing they really have to work on is the customer service. They did not greet me at time of arrival, and kind of ignore me. Food was way too salty, sangria was too sweet and the fruit in it looked really old. We ordered kids nuggets and they placed it in front of a two year old scalding hot. Both plate and food were hot. They don't have high chairs. They have boosters but they recommended we put it in the booth. The booth dimensions are odd and uncomfortable, so we asked for a chair. We put the chair at the edge of the booth, but we had to keep moving it because of the odd set up of the tables. Hostess was blah, waitress wasn't all that better. Great service and the restaurant has a great Cuban ambiance with nice decorative touches both inside and out. They offer a really nice variety of food and includes daily specials which offer a good sized meal at a reasonable price. We started with the Florida sampler appetizers and enjoyed each one. We each ordered a different meal so we could try the beef, pork and chicken and all tasted delicious. I had high hopes for the reopening of this restaurant because they did a great job with the remodel but unfortunately the food was a huge disappointment. The bistec empanizado was a huge let down. The portion was great but the real issue was the breading. It peeled off the entire steak. It literally peeled off as I cut through the steak. This is just poor technique, and subpar ingredients. In addition, It lacked flavor, crispiness, and the beautiful golden brown color you would expect from this dish. I can recommend the empanadas de pollo, very tasty fricassee. So much beautiful work was put into the dining room but I'm afraid the same can't be said for the kitchen that can't execute a simple bistec empanizado. read more

The best Cuban food in all of Los Angeles. Like many people, I was incredibly sad when I initially saw this place go two years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see it come back! I was worried about the quality of service and food not being the same after some time, but I'm happy to report that the quality is still incredibly tasty and the new design gives a much more modern ambience than before. They say if you pay cash you get a 4 percent discount but when you pay your bill its different on the menu it states 17.95 for a bistec and when you pay theyre charging you 20.95 not the 17.95 with the added taxes. Aesthetics -4 stars -with every restaurant in these days they have outdoor dining which is really not the most ideal but that's expected with dinning during Covid Service-1star - this area is their weakness since there seems to have no sense of urgency. Our server never came by to ask if everything was okay he ignored us . Had to wave down another server to provide us with another drink . Which should not be the case. We also asked for a bread basket and they never brought it to us . Food-5 stars - this is what really matters and the most important part of dinning . We got Rabo encendido , vaca frita and ropa vieja . All three were full of flavor and just the way they'd Gould be you can taste the rich spices and tenderness of the meats in every bite. The Rabo is one of the best I've had . We waited for their reopening anxiously. And unfortunately, we will no longer be returning or recommending. The flavor in the plates lacked. I wondered if maybe the recipes were lost in the fire. Because the sazon is definitely gone. We had the arroz con pollo, the chuletas de puerco and the bistek de palomilla. So it's not like it was just one plate with the issue. They were all so bland. Even the starter bread they give. It was hard and the paste just tasted different, not the Cuban bread we are used to. Unfortunately, the service from the waitresses was the worst part. They were rude, rushed, and honestly made it seem chaotic. We had to ask several times for requests and I didn't appreciate that they made it seem a burden to seat a party in the disabled table when we had someone in our party with a wheelchair. I observed they took long seating other guests and even longer cleaning up the tables to get more guests in. It was just a bad experience overall. Either this staff is new to it or that just don't have the ability to serve well. It's unfortunate because I believe it's same owners as prior to the fire. And I don't think management realizes her staff both waitresses and cooks are harming her business. Also, the prices charged on the bill were slightly higher than what is on their menu. I compared the receipt to the menu pricing and it's almost about a dollar more. They should update their menu pricing to match what you are actually charged. read more
