So we reached out to Luxury and asked if they would help us find new replacement renter or at least prorate their fee we paid, they said since we are not using them monthly that we will have to pay again to find a new renter! To me that is wrong. I called another prop manager to run this scenario and they said not a good practice. Wish we went with PMI instead because they said they would have made this right. I am presently contacting the state licensing board to investigate them for the many issues I and other residents have had. I have only listed some of the many issues below. 1. Owner Jean is abrasive, rude, and inconsistent in any and all policies. When he is caught in a lie, he simply stops responding and will ignore you. I requested a meeting in person to discuss something his daughter, an employee and who is an agent of the business, authorized that he later deemed could not be permitted. There were repeated requests which all went unanswered. He took it upon himself to actually destroy personal property. He does not care about adhering to the Americans with Disabilities act or the Fair Housing Act of 1968. In fact, it seems that he is grossly unfamiliar with both which is alarming. 2. The condo in the community managed by JMA was owned by my mother, and now me. The day after she passed, a nasty email was sent to her significant other's email regarding my dog (a registered support animal with a letter from an actual doctor), as I was at the condo handling her affairs. The callousness and downright cruelty displayed in that email was absolutely abhorrent and disgusting. For one, Jean had my email and phone number from our many (mostly unanswered) prior conversations but once again chose avoidance as he does whenever he is in the wrong. Secondly, if there was a question about the pet being there, especially given the circumstances, the first step is to just simply reach out in a nice and professional manner. Jean is incapable of conducting business in a professional manner under any circumstances. When I called him immediately upon receiving the email he talked in circles and kept trying to change the subject. I was embarrassed for him. He could not come up with a single legitimate or valid explanation for his behavior and kept trying to deflect. Shameful. 3. Jean was VERY quick to want to meet with me upon learning I would be inheriting the condo. Funny how I asked to meet several times and was ignored but when HE wanted to meet I received several emails. Why would he be so eager to meet me? He was feigning at the opportunity to let me know I couldn't move in. Unfortunately for him, I have no plans to and he didn't get the opportunity to throw that in my face as he had hoped. Of all the affairs to handle in the days after my mothers death, it was Jean who was the most insistent and impatient. What a callous and cruel individual. 4. There are many safety violations around the property (that I have taken pictures of) including significant electrical issues the could injure someone. Jean is more concerned about policing my 12 pound senior dog than addressing the safety and security of the residents in the complex. He doesn't care about the property or the residents, he cares about being a misogynist and a bully. Again, for everything I have mentioned I have email receipts and photos as proof. No exaggerations. No lies. All facts.
