What an amazing experience! I have never ridden a moped before. I was a bit nervous but Jeff gave me a 5 minute run through of the vehicle and let me take it for a practice spin. He then told us to go a street over where there weren't many cars - this way I can practice. Little did I know Jeff would be pulling up and snapped this adorable picture of my husband and I. I felt safe and comfortable riding the moped. After talking to Jeff some more I learned that he is local, supports little league, and gives back to the community. I LOVE THAT!!! If I could leave no stars I would, this place doesn't even deserve a 1 star. Talk about no costumer service, I highly do NOT recommend this place. Trust me save yourself some hardship and go rent out somewhere else. My experience here was horrible and hella annoying. First off I came to Sarasota, FL for a day and as time was the essence I wanted to get a moped quickly and go cruise around and when I got to Florida Fun Rides the owner (Jeff) literally took like 2 hours until I finally got my scooter like it was ridiculous. Also as I was riding the scooter I needed a quick fill up and you have to use the key and unlock the gas cap to be able to fill it up, and literally no joke when I twisted it to unlock it literally just fell apart. Not even exaggerating it just broke into pieces and I simply just unlocked the gas cap lol. When I brought the scooter back I explained this to the owner (Jeff) and he right away didn't even wanna listen to me or hear me out he was just telling me how I'll have to pay for it and he did eventually charge me too. But it's like why do I have to deal with the consequences when I'm given a scooter that doesn't function at 100%. This was the most HORRIBLE rental experience I've ever had and highly do NOT recommend this place, this place has the worst costumer service and worst owner ever. Do not mess up your experience by coming to this place, there are plenty of better moped rental places that I'm sure are wayyyyyyy better than this place. We rented moped scooters , brand new , safe but sporty . The owners patience to detail to exemplify a sense of safety with fun was impeccable. We rented 5 of these electric scooters with our family this week and had the most amazing time! The renting process was quick and easy and the owner of florida fun rides was quick to respond to all of my questions! Also their pricing is hard to beat! It was only $50 for 4 hours. We spent the 4 hours driving around from beach to beach and restaurant to restaurant. These scooters are safe and fun and easy to use. We loved that they also had speakers that you could connect to Bluetooth. A really nice touch. We will be vacationing here for another 3 weeks and plan on using them again. If you only read one review on this page, I promise this one is worth it. My experience was so bad that at the time I was too busy to write a review but I promised my self that when I had the time, I will sit down and write every detail to what happened with Jeff and his business. So here I am a few months later. It was my second time in Sarasota and the first time I went to Robin Hood rentals instead which treated me really well and the only reason I chose Florida fun rides is because Robin hood closed early for the day. Anyways, let me tell you what happened... So me and my friends rented mopeds; some rented from Jeff and the others rented from Robin Hood the next day. We went riding and one of my friends crashed really bad, broke his arm, wrecked the moped really bad, and returned it the next day to Robin Hood and did not have to pay a single penny since insurance covers there mopeds. This was a huge relief for him since he already had to pay a huge hospital bill for his arm. Then there's me; I rented from Jeff and also crashed, but not nearly as bad. I was taking a turn and there was a puddle on the turn that caused me to slip out and go under the scooter. I wrecked my self more than the scooter but Jeff could care less once I came to return it, he went straight to his scooter and said he will let me know how much it will cost me. I was obviously frustrated and told him insurance should cover it but supposedly Jeff does not insure his scooters and did not tell us this beforehand but again I don't blame him since I should have asked and read the contract more thoroughly. Anyways I said that's fine, I will pay for the damage since these scooters only cost $1500 and I could only imagine that the damage attached below would not cost so much. WRONG, he charged me almost $1000 for damage, plus $250 for rental, and I might be wrong on this since it was a few months ago but he also charged a deposit in the beginning in which was never refunded either. So I basically bought him a brand new scooter for a few damaged plastics. All this being said, I demanded I get some evidence that this money he charged me was truly to pay for the parts and service, he said he will but never sent it to me. So I will let you decide on whether Jeff is an honest businessman and whether you want to support someone like this. I have also attached all the photos that back up the story I am telling you, including my conversation between him in which he states if I try to dispute this, he will take me to court. P.S. This is my second time posting this review since the first time I posted it he threatened to sue me for posting an "unwarranted and not accurate review" so I deleted it in the meantime because I needed to confirm I have every right to state my experience. Because what good are Yelp reviews if we are not allowed to express how a business treated us without having to worry about someone suing us; good thing we have Consumer Review Fairness Act that was signed into law in 2016 that protects us. Anyways I got consultations from a few different attorneys who were in fact encouraging me to repost it. Everything I stated was to the best of my knowledge, please use your discretion and use the photos below for your reference. What an outstanding experience! The bikes were comfortable, smooth, riding, brand, new, well-maintained. The helmets were included. The helmets had the flashing lights on the back. We didn't have a car and thought that we would bike around, on the first day we were wrong and happened to see Florida Fun Rides. Jeff the owner is a really great guy. Rented the E bikes and rode from Palmer Ranch to Venice. Saw a lot of wildlife turtles & birds fortunately no snakes. . Jeffrey The owner was great to work with. Very knowledgeable and gave some great advice on how to enjoy our ride. For those who aren't able to bike The full 12 miles riding the E bikes makes it easy to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I definitely recommend putting this adventure on your bucket list. Florida fun rides is a great company! Pack a lunch and you can enjoy it at one of the many picnic tables along the trail. Jeff was great to work with and I would 100% recommend Florida Fun Rides to rent bikes while at siesta key. My girlfriend and I rented from Jeff, and he was always only a phone call away. He had bikes available when we stopped by, and they weren't cheap pieces of junk. Lightweight aluminum bikes that were super easy to get around on, not to mention durable. My seat came unhinged the second day we were renting, and I was unable to fix the bike myself. I was able to stop by and swap bikes with a simple phone call. The owner personally helped us out and even came to pick up our moped the next morning since we were staying a little further away. Moped was beautiful and ran great.
