Sal in the fishing department took great care of me during the purchase of a new fly rod. His recommendations were spot on, he was very friendly and professional, and he set it up perfectly! Great shop with a wide variety of goods tailored for the skater, surfer or fly fisherman. if you are just looking for a t-shirt to remember you trip they have a lot of cool designs and fun styles. By far the best board shop in the area. Great selection of skate and surf boards as well as a huge choice of beach clothing. The people are super friendly and knowledgable and there is zero pressure to purchase anything. They also put on different events such as skate events in the back parking lot and summer camps (surf, skim and skate). Although this shop is the only one of its kind in the area, it would still hold it's own in a much more competitive market. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

Easily the coolest store in town. They carry big brands like Hurley, billabong, etc. but even better they have local brands and a bunch of awesome accessories, longboards, yeti's (the list goes on) Not to mention friendly, land back staff. Check them out, the compound doesn't disappoint! read more

I'm a 57 year old beginner skater....these folks hooked me up SO GOOD!! Knowledgeable, friendly staff have me on the way with a longboard and a skateboard...REALLY happy with this amazing shop! When I bought my skateboard, the young man who helped me was totally hearing what I wanted out of it, and made the best suggestions for the deck, trucks, bearings, wheels, etc...and he put the dang thing together for me right then and there!! My boyfriend and I took a skimboarding lesson from Benny today and it was AWESOME! He had an excellent method of instruction and broke it down step by step. Super professional, patient, fun, and worth way more than what we paid. I highly recommend the experience. We are adults in our thirties and it went well so I can't imagine how smoothly it would go with kids. If only I was young enough to go to the camps they have! Seriously just an awesome time and we appreciated what a great instructor Benny was. Thanks again! read more

This place rocks!!! I'm from Boston and I go to Sarasota often too visit my kids. We stop in at least 2 or 3 times when I'm there and buy some new kicks and skate setups for my oldest. We let a staff member know and they told us the name of the person who owned the wolf (we assumed the animals were owned by Big Cat Habitat and not private individuals. Big Cat Rescue in Tampa is a legitimate rescue. Big Cat Habitat is more like a side circus where most animals are kept in enclosures which are too small. Please support legitimate rescues and not places where private individuals own and display their pets.

I recommend a tip for these guys as they are in the hot sun doing a great job. FYI for corporate. If possible, please remove the boats on the web site that you have decommissioned. If one is out for service, please post a notice on the reservation page indicating "out of service" and maybe an expected time back in service. Just leaving them blank so no one can book tells us nothing. It helps us club members when trying to book a date and time. Boats are always clean and ready to go. Keep up the good work guys.
