Hakim arrived on time with his son and they were super helpful and friendly, and answered every question I had. They pointed out the issues with the previous installation and fixed these hacks. You can tell that Hakim really knows what he's doing! The water heater replacement job was completed quickly and professionally, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. He gave me the link to register the water heater for the warranty. Everything was easy and looks great. Highly recommend!

Hakim and his son had to replace my water heater due to an internal leak. He went through and explained why it can't be fixed and what I can do in the future two best maintain the longevity of my water heater. He took the time to do a great job with the installation and working around some physical obstacles that made the replacement challenging. After the job is done, he even took the time to explain to me the details of my warranty, and ensure that while I registered my extended warranty, he stood by me, patiently, ensuring that it gets done so that there would not be any issues moving forward lastly, he went above and beyond, and showed me how much water pressure my house was getting, and where to locate my main water line from the city. All in all, I had a great experience and would definitely come back to them again as I did 10 years ago, they also have the best prices compared to three other local companies.

I called Water Heater Doctor based on a rec from a friend and I am so glad I did. It was easy to get an appointment that fit around my schedule, and the scheduler was so nice and understanding. Pete came by and knew exactly how to fix my water heater. It is clear Pete has A+ plumbing knowledge and I highly recommend anyone ask for him when they are in need of a repair. I also appreciated Pete was on time and gave me a call 10 minutes prior to arrival to let me know he was coming. Upon inspection of the issue, Pete provided me with a reasonable quote, along with a step-by-step explanation of what would happen next so that the repair could take place. You know I said YES to it all since I needed my hot water back. Pete was definitely the doctor my water heater needed.

There was a bit of uncertainty with our situation since the leaking from our water heater had started to cause the wood beneath it to deteriorate. It was probably hard for them to quote us for that part because I guess it's not a typical situation. The repair estimate for the wood repair was hard for us to swallow so they worked with us to bring it down if we supplied the materials. The plumber they sent out went above and beyond to address the wood situation on a budget. I got a ton of quotes and talked to a bunch of outfit, including the plumber I used for my last job. After everything, I'd say that for a straight up water heater repair, these guys are my top choice. Very happy with my experience.

Excellent work. We've had them in for three projects: a laundry box, water heater replacement, and…read morerepiping. The laundry box project convinced us that they did quality work. The water heater project was more expensive than we'd expected, but that was because they insisted on doing things to code; they said that if we didn't want to do things to code, we'd have to use someone else. We didn't bother to get alternate bids on the repiping because we knew their work is solid. Jason, the owner, prepared a very detailed bid. We had a number of questions, and he was very good about answering them. The repiping itself took about four days. The work was far less intrusive than we'd initially expected. They replaced our old steel piping, which was giving us a lot of problems, with copper. During the work we questioned why they were putting in single-handle shower valves when we'd had two-handled valves before, and they gave cogent reasons for doing so. Alligator said that their rates are about average, and we believe them. Perhaps we could have gotten the repiping done by another company at a lower cost. But we'd rather contract with people who have already done good work for us and whose work we trust. We've always believed that the most cost-effective option is to go for quality, and Alligator certainly delivered in that regard. Highly recommended!

Alex sent our technician, Rojo, who helped install a new 40-gallon gas water heater in our indoor utility closet, and he was incredibly diligent, professional, and efficient from start to finish. Installing a tank in an inside closet can be tricky, but Rojo handled the entire job seamlessly in just 2 hours. He replaced everything with high-quality components, including: * New hot and cold water flex lines * A brand new water shut-off valve * A new gas flex line and sediment trap * Fully reworked earthquake straps (to meet California safety codes) * Properly updated T&P line and venting He also took care of the removal and disposal of our heavy 18 yr old tank, leaving the utility closet completely clean. If you want fair pricing, expert specialized service, and a technician who respects your time and home, call Water Heater Masters and ask for Rojo. Highly recommended!

We were replacing a gas water heater with a hybrid electric heat pump water heater. Generally, this…read moretype of heater costs twice as much (price and installation) as a traditional electric water heater, but costs a lot less to run (and therefore you recoup the additional cost in a few years from lower operating costs). I had a very easy experience getting an on-site quote. I received 3 quotes for this job. 2 quotes, including this one, came in around $7100. I went with a third one at around $6700 (which included an additional mixing valve) and am very happy with my decision. Overall price was not a big part of my decision, but brand of water heater was. After doing some research online, the most recommended brands are AO Smith and Rheem (GE). Both higher quotes were for Navien, which has only been making heat pump water heaters for 1 year, but I was told that it is the most reliable brand. I did not understand how this claim could be made, given how short the duration of evaluation for this product. Even the worst appliances usually work for at least a year. So I requested a quote for AO Smith or Rheem, which I did not get. I'm not sure why my brand request was not honored, but it made me question whether I should go with a company that either has communication issues or maybe some type of deal with Navien that I was not informed about. Many water heater installers are preferred installers of certain brands, which means they can get better pricing, etc. I did not want to be a guinea pig for Navien.

It only occurred when the weather was hot. Basically, only summer afternoons. We had PG&E come out repeatedly and they could not find the source. We spoke with plumbers and other heater repair companies. All of them told us that it was not our heater; that we were wrong about the inconsistency of the smell. That gas leaks are only consistent and would not happen only when it was hot. We were told that we must be wrong. We felt like we were going crazy. Until we called Bay Area Water Heaters and Dave came out (with a whole crew). He took the time to inspect our heater and said yes, this slight gas smell on hot days is something he had heard of. It was likely due to an old valve within the control panel. He walked us through our options but ultimately suggested replacing the entire heater. His team was able to do the job right then and there and at a reasonable rate. It was completed within the hour. And sure enough, no more gas smell in our garage. Dave and his team were amazing and incredibly professional. We will be using this company again.

I had scheduled a service appointment and needed to cancel. I understand that cancellations impact a schedule, so I remained completely calm and polite throughout the conversation and paid their full cancellation fee immediately without hesitation or dispute. Despite complying with their policy right away, the owner became hostile. He lost his temper, raised his voice, and berated me for how much the cancellation hurt his business. A cancellation fee is meant to cover lost time--it is not a license to yell at and lecture paying customers who are speaking respectfully. Handling ordinary business interactions with this level of aggression and emotional volatility is completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise against dealing with an owner who treats customers this way.
