Last night may have been the last time I go here. It was a Saturday evening and there was only one other customer. We've been to this restaurant several times over the past 10-15 years and its recently gotten worse in service, condition, and attitude. Now the booth seats are torn on the bottoms and the owner has just taped them up, one of the seats actually has a chunk out of it. The front door never closes on its own. Window blinds used to be torn and dirty but now it looks like they just removed them, LOL. The food presentation has steadily become worse, now its just thrown onto the plate. Whoever the main lady is up front at the counter, she never smiles, barely acknowledges the customer. There were 4 kids in there last night as the wait staff and no one was in there but us and one other customer. A guy in the back office turned on some Mexican music so loud that it was annoying. He eventually turned it down, then back up, then back down. Not sure if he was being annoying or just dumb. They need to drastically change their ways or close the doors. read more

Enchiladas and fajitas are great. Sauce is good. Prices are superb. Service was excellent.

This whole in the wall Mexican restaurant has some great food. Don't be scared away by the outside or the inside. The water tasted a bit different, recommend lemon in it. Best Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas ever!!! We moved from Dallas and were pretty sad that we couldn't find a decent Mexican food restaurant....until we CAME HERE....YUMMO! I got a to go order for me and my daughter as I passed through town. After eating a small portion I found a piece of metal in my daughter's food. After calling them to report it the women on the phone asked what I wanted her to do? I asked for a refund and she hung up on me. I called back multiple times and she would answer but refused to speak and would just leave the phone line open. 24 hours later my daughter and I are very ill with symptoms of food poisoning. Do not eat here, it's not safe and there was no accountability or attempt to correct the problem. read more

Hokey Mole! This place rocks! Outstanding Tex-Mex food prepared with very fresh ingredients. Starting with the salsa and chips the food hits your taste buds just right. As other reviewers have stated the brisket tacos were first rate. Get them with the corn tortillas ... very good. Cheese enchilada and crispy beef taco were delicious too. And get the charro beans instead of refried for another taste treat. Not that there is anything wrong with the refried we just wanted to try the charro beans. Refried beans were very good too. If the green sauce doesn't come with your dinner, I'd suggest trying some on the side if you like green sauce as much as I do. All in all this was an ideal meal at the ideal Tex-Mex restaurant. 3 minutes ago Have a video as well. They are the only restaurant close with something different. They mess up A LOT. I can get past that, they always fix it. However, I called to make an order. The OWNER took that order. FLORENTINA. I made an order of street tacos. Simple. No cilantro, onions. Then two more street tacos, everything. On the first, she said cilantro, no onion. I corrected her, no biggie. Then asked her to repeat the order. She said she was too busy to do that. I said are you serious? Yup. Too busy. I was pissed. Drove up there. Have the video of the douche guy. Please let this 3 minute video load. Her apologizing. They were not even close to busy. Just lazy and unprofessional. read more

I wouldn't even be giving a one star review but it didn't give me the option for no stars! Very disgusted!!! There was a roach cooked into my daughters hamburger and if she hadn't took the bun off to put ketchup on it she wouldn't have even seen it!!! Took the plate and showed the manager and all I was offered was an apology! We didn't even eat anything and they still charged us for our food!! They act like it wasn't a big deal. It's been a long time since we've been to Florentina's. The last time we'd been was a bad experience and we decided not to go back. We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped in for lunch today. While there are area's for improvement like attentiveness of the waitstaff and the kitchen is a bit slow, the food was tasty. We will be back to give them another try and I was thrilled when Florintina made a point today to tell us if there is ever a time that they didn't meet our expectations to let us know. read more

Ate here for the first time this evening , my husband had the brisket nachos and I had the brisket tacos. The brisket tacos were the best I think I've ever had. Guacamole tasted great, good chips and salsa, and good service. I can't say much on any of the other items, but get the brisket tacos and you won't be disappointed. read more

It was my 3rd time eating here today and I got the same thing I always get. Delicious each time and the dining experience was made even better with our super friendly and personable waitress Gina whom I got to meet the last time I was in. However, the overall experience was ruined when we were walking out and Florentina (the owner) sent her waitress out to accuse the woman that I was eating lunch with of stealing a praline cookie from the counter. When I went to the bathroom my friend was standing at the counter with had a small to-go container of table sauce in her hand that Florentina must have mistaken for a cookie. It's funny to me that Florentina didn't have the time to acknowledge us when we came in and my friend tried speaking to her but she did have the time to watch her on camera and send her waitress out to accuse her of taking a cookie without paying. The food is good and it used to be reasonably priced for a town with a population of about 2,000. However, they became very expensive once they became popular. My family has chosen not to eat there anymore and we told Florentina It's too expensive for our family when we made that decision . In my opinion, we can drive to Greenville and Sherman and get better food that is cheaper. I had a friend come and visit from Colorado yesterday. He wanted to eat there even though I warned him about the price. He said, he was buying. It was lunchtime and I was hoping the prices would be better priced. They were not. My friend got a coke and I ordered a water. We both ordered the two beef enchiladas with chile con carne sauce and it came with rice and beans. It cost over $25 and my friend left a tip that made it an even $30! I was asked again why my family of five has not been eating there anymore. Again, I told her that we cannot afford it. My main problem is with the price of the food and not the quality of the food or the people who work there . If you don't care about the price, you will have a good meal. read more

Considering the complete lack of decent tex-mex in Greenville, TX, finding this gem (along with Luna Azul) in near by Leonard was a complete shock. We stopped in on a whim. This is another small family owned business who does it right. Be sure to check out the board with the chef's specials. There's usually something really awesome up there. Otherwise, anything on the menu is good. It's all made fresh and it may take a minute for them to make it, but the food is more than worth the weight. We have eaten at Florentina's for years, and have always enjoyed their food. Their chicken enchiladas are one of our favorites, and their homemade salsa is very good, but can sometimes be on the spicy side. Great small town Mexican cuisine at Florentina's Tex Mex! Typical Mexican dishes done right with healthy portions and beats the 30 plus mile drive to larger cities when in a rush or not in the mood for long waits. Food is consistently good but a bit pricy for some items, mostly ribeye fajitas which one would expect to be higher. Most combination dishes are inexpensive and very filling and quite good. Ask for their molcajete salsa if looking for a spicier alternative. All in all really good Mexican food at reasonable prices with friendly small town service! read more

I love this place. Great food and reasonably priced. Nice restaurant to have in this little town. The older waitress is always great and has amazing customer service. The younger waitstaff is a bit more shy. The taco salad is great and looks just like what you get at Mi Cocina, but priced much better! We don't really get deserts here, but I have gotten then flan and it's pretty decent. We go here at least once a week and anytime we have company over we take them here for lunch or dinner. Everyone enjoys their meal and one of our friends particularly like the mocajete sauce (pardon the spelling). They have something for everyone here. They have fried catfish and other comfort food dishes as well as the Tex Mex offerings. The margaritas are good too! read more

Excellent chips and queso! Love the tamales and very nice waitstaff. So glad to have them so close to us ;-)

After being seated it took over 15 minutes just to get water, then another 10 before the server took our order. We then waited an addition 30 minutes to be served. The food was average at best and I won't be returning. read more
