3.5 Oldie but a…read moreGoodie. This Holiday Inn Express and Suites is located in the affluent Southpointe area near Canonsburg and close to shops, restaurants, gyms, condos, and schools. I chose this hotel strictly due to the price, as the other two hotels close by, the AC Hotel and the newly renovated Homewood Suites, were priced much higher at the time of my booking. I booked a massive one-bedroom king room at a very reasonable rate. This hotel is an older style of Holiday Inn and Suites and does not have the modern look of newer Holiday Inn and Suites. The decor and the furniture seem very 90's or early 2000s style; even the TVs in my room were more than 10 years old. However, the room was clean and very spacious. One odd item to note was that the room had a kitchenette, but all of the cupboards and drawers were empty. No plates, glasses, or cutlery were available. The bedroom had its own TV and heating/AC unit; the bathroom had a shower and toilet, with the sink outside the bathroom. The main living area had a desk, a table and chairs and a kitchen island with additional seating. The lobby is massive and opulent, with a very large area for dining and eating the complimentary breakfast. There is a business center and additional meeting rooms on the first floor. One highlight was the fitness room, which was in a very large room with an abundance of fitness equipment, which was perfect for a three-night stay and allowed me to change up my daily workouts. The hotel comes with a pool, but the pool area has no humidity control, or at least it wasn't on or working during my stay, which made staying in that area very uncomfortable, especially on a hot and muggy summer day. The guest laundry has two washers and two dryers, and you have to pay by credit card or use an app that allows you to pre-pay the fees and use the equipment through the app. The breakfast was good and abundant with multiple hot and cold choices, but on one of the days, with more than 30 minutes left in the breakfast service, most of the hot food was finished, and I was told they weren't going to replenish it. Aside from that, I had an overall pleasant stay. The hotel could use a modernization at some point, as the rooms have no USB or USB-C charging ports but many electrical outlets available for chargers. The channel selection is basic satellite with no streaming capability. Wifi is strong enough for general use and multiple devices. If you are looking for an affordable stay in the area, this hotel might work for you.

The sunken large dining area is nice with some windows and a separated kitchen and coffee station. They also have a coffee station at the check-in desk. The staff are all pleasant and responsive. Josh, the manager here is fabulous! He works a ton of hours but is always pleasant and accommodating. He let us use the boardroom when the power was out on the large island - I can't tell you how helpful that was and we were grateful. My room is spacious and clean. If I come back to the Pittsburgh area, I will definitely seek out this hotel. This is the nicest Holiday Inn Express I've been to, and I've been to many!

Good, Clean Hotel!!…read more I stayed in this Hampton for one night while in the Washington, PA Area. This Hotel is located right off the county highway. The location is great as it is very close to town, restaurants and shops. My room was a King room, and had everything I needed for a good visit. The room itself was clean; however, the Desk Chair had some stains and leftover food crumbs from a previous guest. The bathroom was immaculate. Wifi was easy to connect to. The downstairs lobby had a small guest lounge and dining area serving free breakfast with a variety of hot and cold choices. The gym was on the smaller side but had enough equipment for a workout, including a Peloton. I used my digital Key to check in and was able to head straight to my room upon arrival. My room was ready very early in the afternoon, which was very convenient for me after a long drive. Overall, good stay in a well-managed Hilton property.

Always a pleasant stay here and I never have any issues. It was quite embarrassing, but last year I managed to lock myself out of my room because I was messing around, unnecessarily, with that hook thing at the top of the door that lets the door stay cracked if there are two people in the room and one leaves. Anyway, there was only me and I locked myself out, and the Hampton Inn staff was really nice about letting me back in (with an unfolded hanger-type device one of their people had to carefully slip through the crack between the door and the wall, in order to un-flip the switch I'd flipped; god, this was so stupid, and I felt ridiculous the whole time this was being worked on). They were friendly about it and acted as though I wasn't a huge fool for locking myself out in such a weird manner. The breakfast buffet is pretty comprehensive for a relatively small hotel. They offer a solid selection of cold cereals, plus waffles, eggs, bagels, etc. There's also a pool and a fitness room. I never see these getting much use, so they're in great condition and there's a decent chance you'll have the rooms to yourself if you decide to use them. When I drive out to visit family in Ohio, there's never a question about where I'll stop half-way; Hampton Inn, Washington PA, is always the way to go.

This is an older property, but well-maintained and clean. You can find many amenities at this hotel, such as conference rooms, guest laundry, buffet-style breakfast, a pool and a fitness room. The rooms are large and clean; however, my room lacked modern tools to connect my devices, but it had several electrical outlets for plugging in chargers. The refrigerator worked very well, the wifi was easy to connect to and had a good signal. The bathroom was clean and had an actual fan for smells and steam. Overall, I had a good stay, and since it rained all day, I just walked across the parking lot to eat. The only issues I had were with the Peloton in the fitness room, which had somehow disconnected from the wifi, rendering the bike pretty much useless. The front desk staff member worked tirelessly calling, texting and WhatsApping every manager she could to find out how to reconnect the bike. It took some time, but they figured out how to reconnect the bike to Wi-Fi, and at the least, I was able to use it as a workout finisher. Overall, a good stay with no issues, in a large and clean room, with very helpful staff.

Wow, what a facility! Indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, indoor/outdoor pool, men's steam room, women's steam room, rain forest simulation chamber, kids play fountain/kinetic sculpture. The shallow end of the pool has a curtain of water that falls from the ceiling and various fountains/massage jets. For two guys on a multiweek construction project out of town, the aquatic center at Hampton Inn Wheeling was the best surprise either of us can remember lately. HIW had more to offer though. There was a shuttle service that took us to supper, brought us back when we called (and they showed up in about 7 minutes) later, we took the shuttle to the casino We both somehow beat the house for some decent loot. And we taken back to the hotel by the shuttle at two am Both drivers were exceptionally gracious and polite. This unassuming looking hotel hides spectacular accommodations and flawless hospitality. Apparently it actually is because there was a poster near the elevators that indicated that Hampton inn was voted the best in the world. It also won like a best hotel in West Virginia award also. Who knew? Right off the highway, restaurants literally basically just off the edge of the property including, and I would like to highlight, TACO BELL. Room was decently sized, about average. Beds were comfortable. TV was smaller than I have expected recently and I don't recall them having the option of connecting Netflix or any other streaming services which is nice, relying on what is on cable at that particular moment is a drag and I don't know how we did it for so long. Towels were plentiful. Shower was nice. Multiple mirrors arranged in just a way that your partner can watch you on the toilet from the bed if you leave the door open, as we discovered. I'll spare you the photos that were taken. Not a bad choice.
