Its been awhile since I came back here, but a friend transfiguration made reservations here so we all went. The place is still as cozy as I remembered it to be. They do have some unique craft cocktails that I did enjoyed. I had the Found Artifact and Historical Revisionist. Both cocktails are whiskey based, but you really couldn't tell. I did enjoy them both, but if had to choose, I would go with the Found Artifact. It was full of flavor. The sesame oil washed Toki whiskey with the cold brew and soy vanilla foam went well together.

Such a cute spot! Our drinks were very delicious and the staff was very kind and helpful making decisions. It's definitely a dark atmosphere whether you were sitting or using the restroom. There is warm, dim lighting all around and the walls have fun wallpaper design well good tunes are in the background. The only thing I would know is that you do need to make a reservation and I believe there may be a few food options, but not anything you can order from downstairs. Super cute. Would love to go back and hang out in the space some more!

I'm giving this place a 3.5. I don't know why, but I was left wanting more. It's a small space, dimly lit with a nice wallpaper. One of the bartenders downstairs will let you upstairs once you ask. The service was great. The fries were good. My mocktails were quite spendy, at $15 each. And they were small. One of them, the glass wasn't fully filled even (as shown in the picture). They were okay. I recommend making reservations, but you do have to put down a card and will be charged if you cancel or adjust less than 24 hours in advance. You cannot order from downstairs at Loyal Legion which has a larger menu. They only have 5-6 things on their small bites menu and not everyone may be interested in them. Overall, I probably won't be back but I'm glad I experienced it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the place, I just wasn't wowed compared to the other two Loyal Legion speakeasies. Aurora is stunning and Voysey is eclectic. This one didn't really seem to have a distinct personality.

Nothing better to celebrate a birthday than a secret speakeasy bar with a beautiful setting! Booked reservations online (put credit card down for charging in case you don't show). Let the bartender at Loyal Legion know your name to check in and be let upstairs with a door code. The service was so friendly and made us feel like we were in a special club. The drinks were immaculate! So complex and variety to pick from. We got the charcuterie board as we still had dinner plans afterwards and it was the perfect amount and paired well with our drinks. The seasonal depression cocktail they fresh smoked a spring of rosemary to set on top still warm. These little touches made it fun! It has its own bathroom upstairs and you enter out back into the alley for a true speakeasy feel. Would definitely go back for a special occasion or date night!

I finally got to have the Flora experience! This is a speakeasy upstairs within the Loyal Legion. Make sure to get your reservations in early! Also you have 90 minutes to enjoy your time here with a reservation. You walk all the way to the back and someone will check your group in and check your ID. Then through the winding staircase you reach the top to this dim-lit intimate space with very limited seating. It was a girls night for me out for drinks but this is an amazing spot for date night! Service was fast and friendly and the drinks all looked very interesting and on par with cocktail prices everywhere. Their menu does change but I'm sure they have some staples. But wow how pretty are the drinks! The Staycation is on the mock tail menu but you can add alcohol to it (our waitress suggested rum) and I got the Opal which tasted like an upscale strawberry daiquiri to me and someone else ordered the Flora Fashioned. The exclusivity, the drinks, the vibes, the service, but most important the company you bring here made this a night to remember!

Don't remember, they have a rotating menu anyway... lol

This spot is so cute and cozy! I am in love with the wallpaper and ambiance! Their drinks are crafted well, though I will say if you don't like to taste your alcohol you may want to stay downstairs at that bar. I don't know that the drinks are strong, but they're not fruity or hiding the alcohol taste. It is dark inside, so if your coming with someone who is elderly or needs help reading menu's anyway you'll definitely need to help them here. They offer snack foods not meals, and you do need a reservation. I highly recommend the place, I've been three times now and they keep improving!

Love the vibes of this place. Pretty tiny and quaint but cute decor and dim, but adequate, lighting. A handful of drinks on the menu and you can choose nuts or pretzels for snacks with your cocktails. Service was not super attentive but not so much where it was a problem. The only drawback from our visit was the place had a lingering vomit smell. That definitely took away from our experience.

Grabbed a drink with a girlfriend and Flora offers such a cool factor with its secret speakeasy vibe. Reservations are required and I made them just 2 days before so it easy and convenient. Our wait staff was super knowledgeable went through each the drinks and answered all our questions. They offer small appetizers now like a charcuterie which is great considering the first time I came they didn't really serve food. The decor is moody, lights are low and bar is fully stocked. Seating is minimal. Definitely worth a visit!

Hidden chic speakeasy. Energetic vibes with delicious drinks check! I had the Martini di cafe and my goodness it was delicious! Definitely try this if you enjoy a good espresso martini or coffee based cocktails. Our server was also very friendly and helpful. Make reserves if you are thinking about coming here. They also have some small bites you can order.

Ok I don't usually do reviews while I am at a place. I usually do them after I have been away for a while to reflect a bit on my experience. Hands down just an F'n cool place in Beaverton!!! Yes I said Beaverton!!! The side city to Portland that has been blah for years has recently exploded with great restaurants and bars and helped us Westside folks enjoy the local life of good places to go without crossing one of many bridges to the Eastside. The place is upstairs in the Loyal Legion behind an unmarked and locked door, kind of a mystery to speak. Fun and exciting to say the least. Reservation Only, you cannot just walk right in. You need to go to their website and reserve your spot. Inside it is dark and quiet and lots of room to hang with others making it a very intimate place. The drink menu is fantastic, with so many cool creative drinks to choose from, some with a twist of the original. Employees are super friendly and because of the small space, they attend to you but are not harassed. Bottom line: bring your significant other and have a nice time drinking some cool drinks. Cheers!

Great cocktail assortment & service. Our waitress was attentive and super friendly. Favorites were the Martini Di Cafe & the Jade Garden. We had a group of 6 and arrived on time to our reservation. Need to make a reservation beforehand. The speakeasy bar is upstairs and you need to be escorted up to get in. We checked in with the bartenders downstairs and unfortunately had to wait for it felt like a while. We truly felt we were in the way waiting since the restaurant/bar was a little busy. We were huddled together in the corner of the bar. Modern, unique atmosphere. We were intrigued by the wallpaper. Very dim, intimate space providing a cool vibe. Loved how the drinks were presented. Would recommend visiting!

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!

Y'all can come in and check it out but it does how fresh watermelon in it cannot beat that on a hot summer day. I've been waiting for an establishment like this to show up on the west side for over 20 years. So happy I found Wax social.

If you only hit one craft cocktail bar on your visit to Portland, make it this one…read more Wax Social is a speakeasy and vinyl listening lounge tucked inside a Best Western in the West Hills.. and I mean that in the best way possible. Super moody lighting, hundreds of framed musician photos covering every wall, warm comfortable seating, and a custom hi-fi sound system that will rearrange your expectations for what a speakeasy bar and listening lounge can be. It's a hidden gem in the most literal sense: no signage on the outside and nothing to tip you off as you enter the building. To find Wax Social you walk through the hotel lobby at 9900 SW Canyon Rd, up a staircase left of the registration desk, and look around until you find a frosted glass door marked "Listening Lounge." Open it. You'll be glad you did. Start with the cocktails. The menu is split between elevated timeless classics and original house creations, and both sections of this cocktail menu can bang. The King of Pain is rum-forward and finished with an orange coconut foam that looks as good as it tastes. The Watermelon Man showcases Japanese gin and elderflower in a refreshing and complex profile that's hard not to love. The Sweetest Taboo is a mezcal drink built around blue maize, red bell pepper, pineapple, and lime that hits that rare combination of bold and perfectly balanced. Light My Fire brings blanco tequila and Ancho Reyes together with habanero bitters for real depth. If you want to wander off-menu, they can handle that flawlessly too. Over several visits I've enjoyed a Paper Plane, Tommy's Margarita, Gimlet, Last Word, Too Soon, and others, all executed perfectly. On one visit, the guy next to me at the bar was visiting Portland from Sweden and ordered a Flip. I've been to a lot of craft cocktail bars and never heard someone order one. Clayton, one of the bartenders, didn't blink. Went right to work making a luxurious Flip from memory that the customer couldn't stop raving about. I was impressed. Clayton is also working on several rum-forward cocktails coming to the menu later this summer - I love rum drinks enough to say that sitting at the bar talking shop and the concepts he's tinkering with is worth a visit on its own. Full mocktail lineup, plus wine, bubbles, and craft beers. Now about the sound system. DJs spin all-vinyl sets of funk, soul, R&B, and deep cuts across decades on a custom hi-fi setup that sounds absolutely incredible. Even when the DJ is in full flow and the music is turned up, you can still hold an easy conversation with a group of six or eight people. I've been there with a large group in the back corner on couches and comfortable chairs and everyone kept commenting on it. The music is present and powerful and somehow never swallows the laughter and conversation happening around you. They clearly built this bar around the music. The food is a genuine surprise for a craft cocktail lounge. Think small plates/tapas in terms of dining style: you come for the drinks and next thing you know you've ordered half the menu, made a dinner of it, and somehow backed into a beautiful evening of food, drink, and music. Must-orders: ahi poke nachos, deviled eggs, braised pork gnocchi. Don't overlook the shaved asparagus and white bean salad with sherry vinaigrette, Manchego, and crispy shallots. Simple and elegant and every bit as good as the more indulgent plates. Steak bites and shrimp are worth ordering too. Bring friends so you can order more and share. Owners Sean and Travis are present most nights, greeting you at the door and checking in at your table. That care shows in everything here, including a staff that knows how to read the room. A few things worth knowing: parking is easy, the location is simple to reach from Portland or Beaverton, and the bathrooms are spotless. Open late on weekends. Whether you're planning a romantic date night in Portland, a special occasion, a group night out, or just a solo evening at the bar with someone who really knows cocktails, this is your spot. Among the best craft cocktail and listening lounge experiences in the greater Portland metro area. You've gotta check it out.

The service was nice and they made sure to check on us very frequently and answered any questions we had about the food. I feel like the portioning could've been a bit more given the price point of things and with that, I left feeling hungry.
