I had torn them up in a few places, but overall, they showed 30yrs of wear and tear. I had thoughts of doing this work myself as well, but my wife reminded me that summer was coming, and I needed to be done with the project. It would probably an understatement if I said that I am picky, which is why I like to do my own remodeling and wanted to refinish the floors myself. So, we contracted with Doug and All About Hardwood. To be honest, I was a little nervous... but also willing to let a little bit go so I could be done. The short story... the job is done, and we could not be more pleased. They began by replacing oak boards where necessary and laced the new ones in in such a way that the repair is completely undetectable. Then they removed all shoe trim, sanded the entire oak floor, applied the stain that we requested and finished with a couple of coats of sealant or what I would call clear coats. The refinishing crew as led by Sam. The crew was very easy to talk to, answered all questions, arrived on time and did an all-around awesome job. The final task by All about Hardwood was to add new shoe molding. Honestly, this made me the most nervous as a crappy job here would make the whole kitchen look bad. I resigned myself to hoping that the job would be "good enough", and that I would putty where I had to and/or replace pieces if they were "that bad". The trim guy, Mike (I think was his name) was awesome. His trim work was awesome (sorry, I know I have repeated that word a few times in this review). I have done trim work part-time for over thirty years, and I am a very tough judge when it comes to fit, miters, etc. To be honest, red flags went up when Mike told me that he never "copes" his miter cuts. This scared me. But the finished miters speak for themselves... no gaps!! I asked Mike how he got them so tight, and he commented that he just adds or subtracts and degree or two when he has to. Color me impressed!! The only downside to the whole job, is that Mike did not have putty with him that matches the shoe molding. He offered to come back, but I told him I would finish it myself. I bring this up only because his trim job was so good, i.e. the miters in the corners are so tight, that no putty is necessary. All that is left for me to do is putty his nail holes (whole job will take less than 15 minutes). As an aside.... I have read several negative reviews on here that do not appear to reflect the same company that I worked with on this project. Hmmm...??? Obviously, I cannot speak for anyone else or cannot speak about anyone else's project other than my own. I can only say that I am completely happy with the results at our house and would highly recommend this crew and company to anybody that will listen to me.

Doug the owner is a nice guy. I had him do my previous home and things went well so I asked him…read moreback to do a new home we purchased. Unfortunately things didn't go nearly as well. We had existing wood floors but we wanted hardwood added to our dining room, hallway from garage, and a half bath. since we were adding these in we had the entire floor resurfaced and stained. Two big issues and neither addressed once they were done. I called Doug, emailed he and his office. sent images of the two issues. I even text him but I couldn't get them back out here. First issue was in the dining room where the hand sanding near the wall and the rest of the floor were not matched so when they stained it, I have about 12" out from the wall all the way down that doesn't match. I know this requires resending everything to do over again but they need to stick to their quality of work and the last message I got was there's no easy fix, what do I want to do about it? I stated I want it fixed and never got a response. The second issue is boards buckling in my living room. This was existing hardwood when the home was built. I took pictures and sent them to Doug amd all he said is that's from water damage. I cut holes in my ceiling below and there was no water. I had a plumber out do a scan and there's no water leaking. I had an HVAC person out to look for condensation and nothing found. I cut holes walls to look for water and none found. I had contractors out and the consensus is the time the exposed the hardwood sanding it down absorbed moisture and the stain on top trapped it in. Have still never heard from Doug. Spent nearly $20,000 with him and the guy got his cash and was done. If all goes well, the team was pretty good. but if it doesn't, plan to live with the result or pay someone else to fix it later.

All started with a small handyman job installing an HDTV antenna and rotor, progressed into quoting at least 10 jobs. Pricing was excellent and transparent; work was promptly completed with high-quality workmanship and material, i.e. used structural screws instead of nails. Also found that our carpet covered steps had unfinished oak treads - sanded, stained and re-trimmed with matching handrail work - nice! We now have a new very nice brick and stone paved patio, a stand-alone pavilion, re-designed all-season room, new LVP flooring in lower level of house, new ramp for our large shed (which needed work to correct issues from previous contractor) new/repaired steel front stair railings, plumbing work, etcetera. I do not write negative comments often, but this was required…read more We had three tasks done for us by Premiere. We had carpet installed in our bedrooms. We had a fake wood floor installed in our living room and hallways. We also had vinyl floor tiles installed which required grout. The carpet was high quality and there was a great deal of options. It was installed without problem. For the vinyl flooring the product was also great. However, there were problems with the install. Initially, upon letting Premiere know the problems, they were able to get the crew back to finish and fix the job. On their second trip they did install a different piece of molding that did not match the rest of the molding. At this point I was really tired of dealing with the company and voicing my complaints. So I let it go. Then, several months later, there were growing, noticeable gaps Between the boards that made up the flooring. Some were large enough to allow me to place a coin in the gap. On three occasions I went to Premiere to voice concern and twice sent pictures of the gaps with coins inserted. No action occurred. Concerning the tile that was placed in the bathroom, laundry room, dining room and kitchen, once again--great product, great sales staff, price and selection. But bad install and after sales service. My wife had told me on two occasions that it looked like the grout was coming loose. I disagreed. Then several months later there were some noticeable gaps where grout had come out. The floors were never professionally cleaned or had any harsh chemicals applied. The floor was cleaned mostly with either Swiffer wet wipes or mopped with warm water that had a capful of Clorox in it. We hired Stanley Steamer to clean the tiles. When they arrived, they refused to do the job citing their worry about financial liability. They claimed that the grout did look weak, like it was not installed correctly, that the gaps were noticeable and that they felt their process would cause more of the grout to come up. They advised us to get the grout looked at and redone if needed. They felt it should not look like it did after 5 months following install. I sent pictures and text to premiere explaining this problem but did not get a reply. The bottom line is that Premiere has a wide selection of great products, competitively priced, with a pleasant sales staff. But that does not matter if the great product may or may not be installed well and there's problems with getting problems fixed afterwards.
