I was hesitant to go to Floor & Decor in Homewood after reading some of the reviews but figured I would look at the options and purchase elsewhere. My husband and I wondered around briefly then asked a question of one of the employees. He answered our question and came with us to another area to follow up and also called the person who worked in that section to verify (I didn't get his name). Andree was the person over in "Natural Stone" and he answered all of our questions then walked us over to the grout area to help us find the correct kind. Once in that section, we meet Desiree who walked all over the store making sure we had the correct options. We were uncertain about one of our selections so she went to the opposite end of the store (display tile area) to help guide us -she is very knowledgeable about grout, mastic and tile in general. Andree came along as well helping us. I guess this is how celebrities feel when they shop except we aren't! Ended up getting all our supplies that day. To everyone who had a bad customer service experience, go back in and find Andree and Desiree and you will be pleasantly surprised! read more

We redid our master bath and our contractor recommended coming here to pick the tile. Store is big with tons of options for tile, flooring, etc. I found it all to be very overwhelming. My husband and I tried to find someone to help us but everyone was busy with other customers. We wound up leaving and coming back another day and same situation. I spoke to the manager and frankly she was kind of rude. Told me we could wait for someone but it would probably be a long wait. Long story short, we left and bought our tile at Lowes. We did wind up buying marble here since we couldn't find it elsewhere but this will not be our first choice in the future. If you think you will need help, make an appointment. read more

If I could give this 0 stars. I would. It's the worst dealing I've ever had. But we have no choice in bham but to go to floor and decor. We went into floor and decor. Picked a tile for our business. On December 19. They had it in stock. Discussed how it would be delivered. On the note it states exactly that the delivery guys would need a fork lift and a pallet Jack. It was suppose to be delivered on January 06. January 06 comes around. The delivery guy shows up with 2 out of 7 of our pallets. They do not have the fork lift or pallet Jack. So they told us to call floor and decor. Floor and decor management angel said he'll have to call corporate. That because our case was special it'll be delivered on Saturday. Saturday rolled around. No phone calls. Nothing. We go to floor and decor. But managers were gone. And two people were assisting us. But because it was closing time they told us there's nothing they can do. And told us our shipment wasn't even at floor and decor in bham. When it clearly was. Sunday (mind you 2 days past my delivery) and I go back to floor and decor. No managers can help us. Angel who was there couldn't give us any answers. He simply gave us the other managers number (none who picked up their phones) and sent us on our way. The delivery guy who they hired told us they could deliver it. That floor and decor just had to put in the order in which they refused. Told me they had to get corporate approval. I spent over 11k including delivery fee for them to tell me lord. One after another. Especially where they couldn't help me. And that my shipment wasn't even in when it was. Now I am having to get on the phone with corporate myself trying to figure how to get this stuff delivered. With no one able to answers me. I am not understanding why there are so many incompetent people in this. I was told that if you're in need to order big bulks. Please do so in atl. They'll deliver in a day. And make it nearly impossible to deal with this situation. Update: being on the phone with corporate for an hour. And they told me it's up to the regional manager to get this situation solved. When the store manager told me it was corporate. So either way I continue to get the run around with no one competent enough to answer 1. Where my tiles are? And 2. service is horrible. Employees are horrible. Asked for a box blade to remove the straps from a pallet and the employee walked off. Pushed the cart loaded down with 24 boxes of LPV flooring to a register with a light on to have another cashier tell me that register was unavailable to go to another register. like pushing this overloaded cart was fun. the cash walked off when we walked up. read more

I've used floor & decor in the past for my tile needs and I'm very satisfied with the way it has held up. However, I didn't like the aesthetic I currently have so I decided to make some changes. While looking at the website, I realized they offered free design appointments, so I decided to take advantage of it. I met with one of the designers for an hour and was able to leave with a few samples to take home and view in my home. The designer was friendly and patient. She did not try to coerce me to look into any tiles I wasn't interested in. I will definitely be back for my next project. read more

This all started because I needed some hammers for a volunteer group renovation project. I went to the recently relocated Harbor Freight and saw Floor and Decor next door and decided to look around. Walking in tbe door the first time is almost overwhelming. On the right is evey type of ceramic, porcelain etc tile you cam imagine andon the left the same for hardwood, bamboo, laminate etc. Everything is well displayed and resonably priced and on top of that everone is so helpful! You can buy samples to take home and return as often as you need and I ended up taking three things home even though I had no plans to do any remodeling. Well one of the samoles looked terrific with their guidance I put in a living room and dining room floor that came out so well I did the kitchen too. That said, Gary and these guys are terrific! From selection to purchase with expert help. I ended up with a professional looking job for a fraction of the cost. Bedrooms next?? read more

Placed many orders online and in person, only 1 of 5 replied saying it was ready for pickup so don't count on it. Once you call and get some type of confirmation, you may wait as long as an hour to pick up. Online orders you don't get a receipt, also only partial pickups are not noted on the receipt. Today I drove 2 hours one way to return leftover tile and the system is 'down' for another 2 hours. The associate mandates folks to be here in person when the system is online. I'm contemplating returning in the weekend when it's busier. I love taking a day off work for this. The store should be closed since no orders can be placed. read more

I did not have a good experience there. There were 7 people standing around register socializing the entire 30 minute visit and not one person offered me any assistance. Their shopping carts are total crap. I changed carts 3 times and the wheels wouldn't turn properly on any of them. Other than a poor customer experience, they do have a good tile selection. read more

We had been looking at back splashes at Lowe's and Home Depot and thought we had found the best deals but we couldn't figure out how to match our granite. After 10 different back splash comparisons we had no clue. Eventually my mother in law recommended Floor and Decor. I have to admit I was skeptical but we went anyways. This was absolutely the best experience we have had buying things for our new house. Watson was our designer and he was awesome. When you come here ask for Watson and he will not guide you wrong. The best customer service we have had in a long time. Watson is awesome and deserves a raise and he truly loves his job. Watson and floors and decor saved us over $600 from buying from the big box stores You have a customer for life now. read more

Went into the store tonight to by wall stone Customer Service is a issue for this store. FINALLY found someone to answer questions and then he just walked off from us to help someone else WTH????? About 10 mins latte another employee shows up to tell us someone else was coming to help. This employee FINALLY showed up after being called on the radio 2X and even then was trying to sneak off. I was in the store on Sunday. The employee named Thomas did an excellent job. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. THOMAS needs a raise. Everyone else in the store acted like they could not be bothered to help customers. I went here a few days ago to match some tile because I am redoing the walk in shower in our home. The store did not have what we were looking for on display so we asked an employee for help. He walked us right back to the display insinuating that was the only tile in the store. Okay, we found a color that matched and asked for it in 12x12.. he insisted that all the tile in that selection was 12x12. Now, it's on us for taking his word and not checking more closely, but when we got home, we realized that we had gotten the wrong size! I have to say, I was not impressed with this store's selection of tile or the customer service. I felt like this employee was watching us like we were gonna steal something... and rushing us out. Guess that is what I get for wearing older clothes to work in... HINT: Learning customer service and not judging people will help your career. This is a tile store done right! You come in, choose from tiles that are displayed on a big stands with matching grout, buy samples (as much as you need), check them at home, then come back and get the whole batch of tiles right in the store! No 3 months waitings, no wild guessing based on a 24 square inch sample, no so-called designers that give you suggestions without visiting your place! Great, great store! read more

It was quite busy but found an associate who was texting on their phone and asked if they could help me, was told to "hold on" while he finished his text. He finally brought me another associate that ended up actually helping me but there was no one available to help load the truck so I had to load heavy tiles by myself. This would be a much lower score, but thanks to great customer service help by Tykeria Nolan from the Homewood 186 store, I was able to get some discontinued tile re-shipped in time to keep my project on time and completed the way I wanted it done. Another store sent my shipment with no packing, so all the tiles were damaged. The F&D corporate support line was not helpful, but Tykeria was able to find the tile and get it shipped overnight to the Homewood store and I finally got what I ordered. read more

Went back to the store this morning to purchase backsplash tile and accessories, after they didn't have the tile I wanted in stock on Sunday. Spent 45 minutes getting my tile this morning , picking out grout getting accessories and was assisted by young lady named Allie. She was very helpful. Went to check out and wanted to use Apple Pay, "oh sorry I don't think it works" said Armando. Not having my Apple card in the mail yet, I asked if he could manually put in my card number and information. After waiting 20 to 25 minutes for manager approval, the manager radio back and said "no we couldn't do it." I Left the buggy at the register. Will probably Not go back, even though I loved the tile that I had picked out. Shame on you floors and Decour for having such poor customer service. read more

So glad to finally have a floor & decor in the area. Had purchased wood from them back in 2016 but had in freight delivered. I was astonished when I found out they would be opening one 2017 in Birmingham, AL. March 2018 I decided to go in store and purchase wood for my remaining bedrooms. I placed the order for store pick-up. A month had went by and I had not received an notification for the wood. Low and behold the wood had been discontinue. I reached out to the local store as well as other stores in other states. James (the warehouse manager) took it upon his self to go far and beyond to locate the wood and found it and another state. He had it delivered to his local store where I was able to pickup. I will highly recommend floor and decor as well as the the lifescapes flooring. As I'm currently renovating my home and already about 90% done with my flooring I was not able to take fully enjoy all Floor & Decor has to offer. Their flooring is absolutely amazing! High quality tile, laminate, and hardwood floors. Being in and out of every Home Depot and Lowe's in the 25 mile radius, I was blown away by the quality of their products. I was not expecting such high end products in this former Kmart location. Their prices were fairly reasonable with good deals here and there. As a prewarning to anyone needing carpet or carpet installation materials. They actually have none. They do however have a jaw dropping amount of backsplash tiles for both the kitchen and bath so I will definitely return one day to check that out more. The only item I was looking for, metal transition strips for stairs were not present so I unfortunately did not find anything for me during this visit. read more

Ordered tile for a master bath remodel. Floor and decor called said everything was ready. Picked it up, contractor started tiling the shower, realized floor and decor had sent 4 different dye lots for the tile. Called Corporate, their answer was that no one usually cared. Spent 4 hours in the store or on the phone waiting to find the lot number at another store. Found it in Kennesaw but since they are doing inventory, they can't ship. I would never recommend this warehouse again. read more

Amazing experience at this store buying tile, grout, and mortar for an upcoming bathroom renovation. Jerrod the operations manager could not have been more helpful. He answered our (many) questions and made awesome suggestions that helped our project! I will definitely shop here again for future projects, and I will recommend this store to family and friends. They have a wide selection, but many items are not marked, half the items have the detail signs missing so you have no information, their prices are no better than elsewhere, and the employees have no respect for your time. I received no help the ~45 minutes I was in the store, despite actively trying to find the invisible employees on two occasions in the tile area. Near the end of my visit to the store, I was looking at flooring and was asked to leave an aisle that I was 2/3 of the way down so they could bring a pallet down. When I asked if I could please finish looking, that I just needed a minute tops (there was only one item I was wanting to see and I was just going to snap a pic so I could get out of their way), I was told "we'll be done in a little while" as they immediately started closing the gates. I got a nasty smirk from one of them as I left the aisle, which makes absolutely no sense to me. I guess he felt good about himself for not letting me "get my way" and spend 30 seconds to see the items I was looking to purchase? I paid for the samples I'd picked up and left without looking at anything else. At least I can use the samples for ideas when I'm shopping for tiles and flooring elsewhere. I will say the lady at the checkout was very kind. Maybe my treatment was due to my looking young, which has happened before. Fortunately, that trait allows me to learn which companies are not worth my time very quickly, and Floor & Decor is definitely not worth my time or business. I am doing a full-gut remodel of an entire floor of my home, including my kitchen. If I am spending thousands of dollars with a company, I prefer to buy from someone who has some regard for me as a customer. I don't need anyone to kiss my a**, but I prefer not being treated like an annoyance, and actually receiving help when I need it. I definitely will not be returning to Floor & Decor. read more

I was so impressed with his expertise and the time we spent with us. In this day and time it is hard to find this kind of service. Kudos to this store for hiring this kind of knowledgeable employees. Not sure where to begin... When I walked into the store the first couple of times just to look and price flooring and wall tile, it was refreshing to have a sales associate help me. Today I came in to actually purchase the flooring and tile for my bathroom remodel, and the sales associate not only walked me around and explained everything to me, she made the transaction quick and easy. I was very excited to hear Floor & Decor was opening in Bham. I postponed my home renovations until I could purchase my supplies and materials from there. Living in Atlanta for almost 15 years, I was familiar with the store so I knew the prices and selections were going to be GREAT and I was not disappointed! The associates are so helpful! I am a bit indecisive but I told them what I had in mind and they stayed with me every step of the way in picking out materials down to the design. If you visit the store be sure to ask for Vaughn. His customer service was EXCELLENT! As I said, I am a bit indecisive but he never appeared to be annoyed. I went back three days in a row and stayed in the store for hours each time. Kudos to the other associates for their teamwork as they all lended a helping hand if another associate needed help. Let's not forget about management. EXCELLENT as well. They were very present in the store and were lending a helping hand to the associates. Rose runs the cashier area like a well oiled machine. I'm looking forward to my next project so I can go back. I'm kind of addicted now. Even opened a store card :-) I know this store will do well. read more
