I frequented floods quite often during my tenure at esu (97-01) and I still have a hard time finding better wings anywhere. They cook them perfectly and their sauces have the perfect blend of flavor and heat. My friends and I would literally show up in cleats directly after lacrosse practice so as not to miss the Tuesday wing specials! Service and ambience are what you would expect at a small-town Irish pub. Non-smoking laws should make for a more enjoyable experience now as well. read more

This is my favorite bar in the "Burg". The food is delicious (burger and wings specifically). Their drinks are low priced and they give you a decent amount of alcohol in them. The shots they serve are bigger than any of the other bars on Main St. My friends and I literally leave whatever other bar we're out and go to Floods if we want to take shots. Actually, to be honest, we make it a point to go there each time just for one shot because we love Floods so much. I can count the times I've been on Main St. and not gone in.. I love floods, as both a bar and a restaurant. The food is good and reasonably priced and they serve late, until 1 even if people are ordering. They have great live music, the service is great, and the drink selection is huge. When compared to the other "bars" in stroudsburg, I'd say it's the only real one.. the others are nightclub knockoffs. The wing and drink specials always bring in a good crowd, and for good reason. This is my new go to bar when I stay in the Poconos! Friendly people, chill crowd and great prices! The selection of beer on tap and in bottles is awesome and the prices are so low and reasonable! We were there on a weekend but they have specials for every weekday! Didn't get a chance to try any of the food yet but definitely will on our next trip here! Oh and the bay breezes are amazing here! First time to the Poconos area in quite some time and found this place on Yelp. Was really crowded due to the St. Patricks Day parade outside, but the employees were really hustling and handled the crowd well. Drinks were not expensive and the burger might have been one of the best ones I have had in a long time. Looking forward to a repeat visit in the near future. read more

Awful is an understatement! Waited 38 minutes for a side house salad and cold turkey wrap. When food arrived, my side salad was wilted lettuce with one mushroom all shriveled up and large thick slices of carrot impossible to cut. My turkey wrap was smothered in ranch and cheddar cheese. I ordered it to be onion and honey mustard only. The wrap itself was sundried tomato and hard as rock on the edges. There were 2 slices of old smelly turkey meet with the slime that occurs when lunch meat goes bad. Spent half the meal with no soda as our waiter was too busy. Stroudsburg is great. Flood's is great. Have not been in Flood's in about 15 years; used to go a lot but who has time anymore! We live near Wilkes Barre. We had tickets to Todd Rundgren at the Sherman Theatre last week; got out near 10:30pm and went over to Flood's. The place was packed- like always. We headed to the back table area. Shame on me- I don't remember the lovely young server's name but I mentioned to her that we had a long drive to get home and need to get out of there as soon as possible. The drinks were immediate. The food came out shortly after. Then she made us the greatest cup of coffee I ever had; even gave me a cup of java for the road. Wonderful evening. Great show. Great town. Great drinks, food and service at what I always considered the Pocono's premier Irish Pub. Know what? It still is. And thanks to Wells Fargo Bank where we copped a quick parking spot for the concert despite the metal sign threatening possible tow. Went here for new years with seven people. It was a very comfortable place with nice service. This is a great place for a small group of people or a date. I found their menu to be small and limited and extremely similar to the restaurant two stores down, jock and hills.still it was very good and homey. The jalapeño poppers were good as well as the caesar salad (order and find out how interesting it really is) we also had soup and hamburgers .they serve strictly bar food (sandwiches burgers) most of our dishes came with a side of chips or fries. I've been coming to Flood's for years and it's always been my favorite bar in town. There is a great selection of beer on tap and bottled, and I've never had a bad food experience, plus the atmosphere is laid back and much less obnoxious than the other bars in town that tend to attract more of the newly-21 college crowd. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during the school year it can get a little noisy and over-crowded, but if you can get a table or booth, you're good to go (I recommend going a little early on these nights). Love the food, very reasonable. Just be prepared to wait. Could really use a good scrub down though. Everything just seems sticky and dusty to me. On Fridays after 4 you get the business crowd , then from 9 on the college crowd. Tuesdays is wing night( those are my fave, try the mchales!) and it becomes standing room only. Huge beer selection. I love this place, it's my home away from home. The staff treats me like family. The food is great and very reasonably priced, great beer selection, and mixed drinks are very well mixed. Entertainment is very good and appropriate for the room (usually just singles or duos). It's not a large establishment, but popular. So on certain nights it can get crowded, which can cause any place to get a little backed up. That applies to any establishment, so it's only common sense that you might have to wait a bit if the kitchen or bartenders are getting slammed. Bottom line, this is a cool bar to hang out at, have some drinks, a bite to eat, listen to some live music, or dial up some tunes on the juke box. Chill lunch crowds, eclectic happy hour crowds, and lively late night crowds. Something for all types. I highly recommend. read more

I've spent roughly $60 attempting to play who let the dogs out, it's always skipped. Always get bottled beer, their beer filters are gross. Food is good especially garlic pretzels, pirogies and their wing deal is solid. The reason it is only 2 stars, is for all three members of the Baha Men who shed a tear every time their song is skipped. I celebrated my 21st birthday at Floods. It may tend to be crowded and it may smell of smoke, but the atemosphere is beyond that of any other bar in Stroudsburg. The food has always been good, in fact I ate there earlier in the week and the food was awesome (recommend the chicken cheese steak wrap or the roast beef wrap). The bartenders and wait staff are always on their toes, watching for the moment you run dry or close to dry. Being a college town, you get the normal college rug rats, but the fights are always kept at a MINIMUM! I would go to Floods three of four nights a week and only remember one fight in four years. My boyfriend's been going there for 7 years and doesn't remember one fight. As a manager at a local hotel, this is definately one of the first places I send my guests when they are looking for a cold beer, good atmosphere and good food. read more

I've been here quite a few times previously, but probably not many more. Typically much better than average bar food, very good wings, very good selection of brews, decent service in a loud, often crowded atmosphere. However, my most recent experience was terrible enough I might not return and won't recommend to friends anymore. After ordering food I waited so long for first refills that the ice melted into water in our cups, then waited so long for food that 3 other tables arrived, ordered, and received wings (what we also ordered) before we did. All the more we saw our waitress at that point was for the refills where she was so abrupt in saying a half sentence about the wait and vanishing I couldn't get a word in edgewise to ask about why other tables were getting their food first. I only asked to speak to the manager after waiting considerably after this. I saw him standing less than 15' away, watched the next table's waitress talk to him, and then watched while he still waited about 10 minutes to bother to come over to my table until AFTER our food had already arrived (50+ minutes after we ordered). Our Entrees arrived before our wing appetizer, and after I politely introduced myself to the manager, noted I was a frequent customer, and that I was concerned about the wait and that the three tables around us had all showed up after and been served first, all the manager had to say was a half hearted excuse-apology about their "tiny" kitchen and it being wing night. I've ONLY ever been there on wing nights, I have definitely been there when it was far busier, and never had anything like this happen, but it doesn't matter, it was an excuse, not an apology. The fact he made me wait 10 minutes to talk to him when he was already aware there was an issue, was readily available and could have even just SAID he was going to check on what was going on in the kitchen and hurry our food out but instead he deliberately waited until the food finally came out, and then only showed up to give a crappy excuse version of an apology and did NOTHING to rectify the situation was the real issue here. I'll wait for good food, especially if you tell me up front there's a wait, I'll accept an apology if it's polite, sincere, and without excuse, I also accept ANY token of restitution, a coupon, a free drink, a free appetizer for next time out, anything that says "I give more than a rats turd if you ever come back and give me business again and I am taking corrective action on my error to justify your business coming here instead of elsewhere." Half the time, I'll even turn that extra bit down because I'm not looking to get one over on anyone, I just think it's a courtesy to tell someone they made a mistake and give them a chance to fix it before you blast it. They didn't think that was worth their effort, so here's your review. I'm considering calling to speak to the owner, it was that rude an apology, based on other reviews, I'm not the first one to be thoroughly disappointed with the management here. I've brought groups of coworkers here repeatedly, gone on numerous date nights with my wife here, ordered just for myself, and referred numerous customers to eat there from my local business. Not anymore, I'll be trying out other wing pubs and checking out their fair before I risk wasting my money being deliberately ignored by a manager when there's a simply time problem to fix. read more

I have never been treated so awful and subhuman in my life. My mom and I went to eat here today, my mom has Multiple Sclerosis. She avoids using a wheel chair by walking with her service dog. Thank goodness for her service dog, because the dog helps her go to places that she wouldn't normally be able to like this restaurant - which is not handicap accessible. After ordering our food and sitting for 20 minutes, the bartender made his way over to us, and without apology or sympathy said "I need to ask you to leave, we don't allow dogs here". After we explained to him he cannot kick us out or refuse to serve us because it is THE LAW to allow a service dog EVERYWHERE, he continued "we checked with our lawyers about this already, we can kick you out, its not illegal." This continued even after my mom whipped out her department of disabilities law book that she carries with her for unfortunate/ignorant situations like this. He still insisted we leave, until I said he can either call the cops or we are happy to sue him, and to please get the manager. He said the manager was not in and would agree with everything he said. We would have left immediately, but it took my mom enough effort to walk the steps and we were starving after 30 minutes of waiting and arguing. So we ate and left. I was tempted to continue to educate this man on 1- how to treat a human being with or without disabilities like a human being and 2 - the laws in this state, that if he does not recognize, could threaten this managers business entirely. This is discrimination, disgusting and ILLEGAL. read more
