I came here on a Friday night just to have a drink. I just got into town and I read that this house…read morewas The inspiration to the movie, The haunted house by Disney. So I wanted to check it out and then I read that they have a bar in the house open to the public. The house is very cool looking from the outside. It's lit up pretty nice and there's a parking lot half a block away. When you walk in you notice it is a huge old school house like hundreds of years old. And there's a little bar set up in a corner. After you get your drink, you can find a seat somewhere in the house and enjoy your drink. There's also a little board games, a fireplace , and a piano if you choose to play it. I had a great time at this mansion. I think we had about three drinks so I got a nice little buzz on. Also, the bartender was very nice, I do not remember her name but I told her I would be writing a review and she got really happy with that. She also told me a spooky ghost story from one of the rooms in the house. I won't spoil it but it was a good story. I would definitely return to this house for a drink and possibly to stay for the weekend because it is also a bed and breakfast. Also they do a murder mystery weekend there but I did not experience that.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

Easy five stars to a mountain brewery and winery with the most spectacular view! And terrific food…read moreoptions too! Must visit! Well, I just love this place and if you're looking for somewhere to get a drink and soak in the gorgeous Delaware water gap area look no further! First of all the beer here was really darn good, a cut above most places! But on top of that, if you'd rather have wine, well help yourself! They also do wine flights here! Both a beer and wine were terrific and above average! But the location and the views give it an extra star and bring it to five stars! The experience is not to be missed and exactly what I was looking for after a hard day of hiking and sightseeing in the Delaware water camp. On top of that, they got some really nice food. If you're hungry, their pizza is great! Great bar pies to hit the spot! You could sit inside or outside. If you want to sit inside, I highly recommend making a reservation even for the middle of the afternoon! That's right even for the middle of the afternoon! However, even though the inside was full, we sat out back on the patio and had a blast! However, if you want to eat a meal here, you'll need to get a reservation inside. They serve a limited menu outside however pizza was exactly what I was looking for to go with my beer! Super highly recommended to visit when in the area.

They even had a live singer performing, which added a great vibe to the visit. We shared a pizza while doing our tasting, and it paired nicely with the wines. The wines were good overall, though not quite enough for us to buy a bottle. One of the wines seemed like it was starting to turn, but the rest were enjoyable. Despite that, we still had a lovely time. It's a cute stop if you're passing through and want to unwind with some music, food, and a laidback winery experience.

I made table reservations online for $20 (you get to choose a 3 hour block of time) -- and while it probably wasn't necessary the day we went, if the weather is warmer on a weekend, I'm guessing you'll need it! Minimal food available for purchase, but you can do tastings, flights, wine by the glass or bottles and are allowed to bring outside food and decorations (just not outside alcohol). Price point is reasonable, and we enjoyed a bottle of Cayuga white while overlooking the vines and fields. Peaceful venue, not fancy and kid friendly (which was a plus for us) and we appreciated being allowed to relax and enjoy the fresh air and wine! My husband enjoyed the red flight -- and while not the kind of wine that will knock your socks off, it's an unpretentious place and perfect for enjoying with loved ones.

Why the sour reviews? They all reflect some kind of ambivalent emotional response- vindictive even…read more We have been coming here since they opened, and frequented his prior establishment at the Silk Mill. Nowt a bad experience. The menu is appropriate to the wine. This is a Wine Bar- that is the focus. Jason, the proprietor knows his trade very well, and is not bashful to discuss it, his passion for it, and his history in said trade. Said passion runs thoroughly deep, and his wealth of knowledge may even supersede this. The monthly Wine Dinners showcase his unending search for lesser known, and often hard to find wines within the contiguous United States- Jason being an ex-pat Aussie. I've come to expect a bit of a story and charade with each dinner- and experience. I like that the sampled wines are all generally for sale. The food is usually paired very well, and executed as such. There do seem to be a regularly rotating staff, but that's irrelevant to the experiences. It's his show. Sometimes the portions can be a bit too large at the dinners, and that says a lot for the price- very fair. As for the restaurant proper, the portions are fine. His curated charcuterie board is spectacular, and local. The Bavarian aspect is appreciated quite well. I miss Zum Stammtisch in NY- now, that does not mean this is a German Restaurant, but there are enough influences and pop-up fare that ist es wunderbar! His schnitzels are always thin as paper, crispy as seashells, and delightfully tasty. We always have the German Fare when it's available, as it so often it. For a state populated by/with so many Germans, this is THE ONLY good true German food around. The overall decor is a bit dim (lighting) and old world European- this is not negative- I prefer this to modern settings. There is a 'secret' Narnia room which is reserved for parties of 12 or more. I quite like the concept- though have not used it- had the tour. Again, the wine list is incredibly extensive, and you can always find what you want. Ask. Then, visit the curated wine shop next door! Truly one of a kind. That's another review. Book the specialty dinners weeks in advance as they generally sell out, but pop on a standard night, as there are usually a few tables open. Sit at the bar and chat with the staff about the wines- it's an adventure.

Very quaint spot located in Easton. We stopped in on a Sunday evening about an hour before closing,…read moreand the restaurant was fairly quiet. Camille, our server, was excellent. While the food wasn't personally my favorite, a few dishes stood out--especially the Roman-style grilled artichoke, which had the perfect crispness, along with the lobster ravioli and the German apple cake, which was nicely balanced and not overly sweet. The flavors overall leaned earthy, which may just not be my personal preference, as my parents love this place and are regulars. I would definitely come back for wine and appetizers. The restaurant offers authentic German cuisine and is truly unique, with nothing else quite like it in the Lehigh Valley.
