The job ended up taking a bit longer than expected (due to all the plywood replacement). All in all they did a great job, there are no leaks, and I've now got a 50 year warranty on the roof and materials.

I do my research on a a lot of things, but as a new homeowner there are many more things that I don't know, than things I do. Working with someone with high integrity, who wants to get the job done right, but who also isn't trying to get you to spend more money than you need is important. That's what you get with Ruach. I'd highly recommend them home remediation (flood/ sewage clean up) and plumbing jobs and I'm even planning to use them for future home projects.

Do not hire SERVPRO of Howard County. I am writing this review having just received the court…read moredismissal paperwork confirming that after dragging me through months of disputes, regulatory complaints, and litigation, they settled for exactly what I offered them from the very beginning. Let that sink in. Here is what this company put me through to arrive at the same outcome we could have reached a year earlier: I signed a contract in October 2024 with a completion date of November 15, 2024. They took my deposit immediately and then disappeared. For months I had no functioning bathroom and received zero communication from SERVPRO despite my repeated attempts to reach them. They never told me their project manager had died and simply let my project collect dust while I waited. Months of silence. No reassignment. No accountability. Nothing. When they finally showed up, the tile work was so bad it had to be torn out and redone multiple times. We are talking about a professional restoration company that could not install basic tile correctly on the first attempt, or the second. The photographic evidence of their workmanship is genuinely embarrassing. When I raised these issues and pushed back on the final invoice, which arrived six months after the contracted completion date and included charges I was never invoiced for during the project, they responded by threatening me with attorney fees, late fees, and legal action. Then they actually followed through and filed suit against me in court, represented by an attorney, apparently convinced they could bully me into paying in full for a job they delivered five months late and half wrong. They were wrong. I filed complaints with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General and the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, prepared a full defense, and was ready to walk into that courtroom. Case No. D-01-CV-26-019615, District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City. Look it up. They dismissed the case and settled for the $2,000 I had been offering them for over a year. The same number I put on the table long before lawyers, court filings, and months of stress were ever involved. They chose every single one of those steps rather than simply do the right thing. This company will take your money, vanish, deliver substandard work, blame you for their failures, threaten you with litigation, and ultimately fold the moment you stand your ground. The only reason to hire SERVPRO of Howard County is if you enjoy fighting for basic accountability from people you are paying to do a job. There are honest, professional contractors in Baltimore. Find one of them instead.

The go above and beyond to walk you through the whole process and alleviate the nerves of making sure you are picking the right company to literally handle the roof over your families head. They even took on a side project no one would help me with and I am SO happy. As a single woman in her first home, it's intimidating to undertake these projects and from Dalton is sales to Amanda who scheduled and walked me through, and Liam who project managed and the guys here now following up to make sure it's 100% done right and my yard is cleaned - this whole Team is amazing and the owner should be very proud. I got 6 quotes - they were hands down - the most detailed, best value, best communication, best work ethic, and made me the most comfortable. This relates to what comes across as current communication issues. And if I come to Yelp and highlight the good, it is only fair to also highlight when an experience with a company... is not good. I do not have a problem with a business being busy. That is a good problem for a business to have. My issue comes, when instead of saying you are busy, the business continually makes appts or followups they do not keep. At that point you do something I have a problem with, you waste the one thing none of us can afford to waste, you waste time. In this case you waste my time and that, especially when you do it repeatedly, I find annoying and unprofessional. If you can't do a job, say that, I am happy to give business to others. And it is preferable to over-promising and under-delivering. Will not belabor the point, that is my most recent experience. And hopefully this review saves you... time. Thanks.
