Also, they were to power wash my deck and seal it. The windows needed special attention because spiders build webs in the windows then poop all over them. It's really gross, and I especially hired Grime Busters to take care of this problem. I specified this as the reason I was getting my house pressure washed. As such, I was told to remove all of my window screens to ensure the best results. So when they were finished, imagine my anger when I looked in my upstairs window and it looked as if water hadn't touched the window at all. OK. We all make careless mistakes. I called and someone came back out to inspect the job of the previous person. Agreed they didn't do a good job, but he didn't come back with a pressure washer to fix the problem! He asked me to use my pressure washer...uhh, WHAT? That's not all. The original washer also left whole areas of my deck unwashed then sealed over them. You could look and tell the angle he washed the stairs and balusters - imagine the sun casting a shadow is the best way I can describe it. So of course when he sealed the deck, whole areas of the deck didn't get sealed, because they weren't washed properly. I was also told the seal would last (assuming proper washing, of course) for 3-5 years. Even on the areas I felt were properly washed, rain water stopped beading on the deck within weeks. The last thing is they were to restain my white deck railings, and they did this, but sloppily. I have white wood railings on white (pvc? plastic-like) balusters. The white stain for the wood can be seen on the plastic -like balusters. In all, while I appreciated their attitude and they were very respectful, I paid $2500 to have a job done well and it was not. And returning without the equipment to correct the problem was pretty inexcusable.

Through Yelp, Metavision LLC was a company that promptly inquired about our situation and offered to come and give a free estimate. The gentleman I spoke with, Brian, was very knowledgeable and professional. He came and assessed the situation and assured they would be able to resolve our leak issues. He had to check his schedule and let me know when they would be able to come for the repair. Communication was consistent by phone or text and they were able to come within 3 days. I received the invoice for the work and the amount was reasonably priced compared to the average price for the work we needed done. The day of the replacement, we were in communication before arrival, during service, and after the work was done. Brian was actually very respectful and personable. He was able to answer any questions we had and offered to assist us further if any more problems occurred. I am happy we chose this business for our repair. They are new to Yelp with not a lot of reviews but have been doing business for over a decade. Black Owned Business too, which I am glad to see as this isn't as common in this industry. After assessing my situation wasn't an emergency (based on in-depth questions he asked he determined we had a clean water leak and no major signs of water damage), he scheduled for him and his team to come the following Tuesday. When they showed up, his team promptly went to work to carefully lay down floor covering (which I appreciated since we have a no-shoe policy in our house). Meanwhile Seth immediately began to inspect the source of the problem all the way to the farthest point of the water damage. He was very thorough and had a keen eye for detail as he began to point out details I hadn't even seen or imagined (later found out his background in construction is what lends to his extensive knowledge about building materials, how things should be built/how things should look etc). Long story short he determined that my water damage was not extensive at all despite the flooding we had. Instead of recommending I demo my kitchen and basement floor, ceiling, walls to track down every little sign of water damage (which would have probably gave them a chance to easily bill $40k to my insurance), he reassured me that because it was clean water that had flooded and because there was no sign of any major water damage to my home, I was good to go for this one time incident. He set up heavy duty dehumidifiers to dry out my basement and that was it. What I most appreciated is that he took the time to explain his observations and why he did what he did so that I was completely comfortable and understood what was going on in my home. He worked with me to only charge me for the labor incurred and dehumidifiers so I didn't have to go through insurance or even pay as much as my deductible. Their honesty and attention to detail was refreshing and reassuring. I hope to never have to go through another incident where my house floods or have a mold issue, but if I do I've already got Seth on my speed dial and my very short list of contractors I trust. I'm very OCD when it comes to getting things assessed and fixed properly - with Seth and his team's experience and eye for detail, it was nice to just relax and trust that I had professionals who will do what needed to be done. He gave me a thorough education about the process and gave me helpful advice right from the first moment. His help over the phone was always clear and accurate. He set us on the right path immediately. Seth and his crew were in our house within 48 hours to do the mitigation and boy were they thorough. The floor was pulled up, the room was disinfected and dried. And all the while, Daryl and Seth made sure that we had the documentation and backup necessary to communicate with our homeowners insurance company. With the mitigation done, the crew came back a few weeks later to actually do the repairs and get our floors back to the condition they were in before. This was equally impressive. The workmanship was truly beautiful. Seth has a great eye for design and color. Everything matches and looks beautiful. I do not have a problem with a business being busy. That is a good problem for a business to have. My issue comes, when instead of saying you are busy, the business continually makes appts or followups they do not keep. At that point you do something I have a problem with, you waste the one thing none of us can afford to waste, you waste time. In this case you waste my time and that, especially when you do it repeatedly, I find annoying and unprofessional. If you can't do a job, say that, I am happy to give business to others. I was surprised and little concerned that it only took this two-person team 15 minutes to clean and get on the roof to check things out. I was disappointed that they didn't clean the fireplace walls completely (see photo). In the past all of the soot would be washed off. I mentioned something to Tim and he had his sidekick come back to work on it for five more minutes. Still wasn't overly satisfied for the price I paid. $180 seems steep in the DMV region but to be honest I haven't researched other groups. Tim made some recommendations for a few repairs. I'll shop around though to get another quote or two. They want $375 to replace back wall and $375 to replace cap outside. Other chimney places hit me up
