I have REALLY wanted to go to a float spa again since my 1st experience in Phoenix. I got a $50 gift certificate for my birthday & used it toward floats for me & my other half, scheduled 1 week out. Apparently, the night before our floats, the owner changed the days & hours of operation for the last couple of weeks they will be open. Supposedly, they posted this on "social media" and sent e-mails, but I never received an e-mail or was notified of this by any means. In fact, their scheduler system had me confirm the appointments the day before. I had the day off, but my other half used a vacation day, and we drove an hour and a half to Houston just to sit outside a locked facility. There was no sign on the door or anything stating the changes, and their website, at the time of writing this review, doesn't show the changes or mention closing, either. We left 2 voicemails and finally got on the website on our phone to use the Contact Us form (I put my phone # in the message since my computer was at home and I don't get email on my phone). They answered me via e-mail, which I did not see until we got home, but no one ever bothered to call us. The end result was a refund of what went on my credit card, but nothing else. I was in desperate need of a well-deserved massage and relaxation after a week of packing/moving and working out! The place is huge inside and there's so many services that they offer (massage therapy, cryotherapy, sauna, hydromassage and more!). This is basically your one stop shop for all of your relaxation and spa needs. The two staff members that I interacted with were very attentive and cordial. I really wanted to try cryotherapy and FLOATSpa in Katy popped up. What a fantastic and relaxing place. It deserves its 5 star rating. It is located toward the back of a plaza that looks like a cluster of little one story homes. Drive all the way to the back to find it. I wasn't sure if I needed to bring shorts and a sports bra, so I brought my own. No need in the future... they have everything you will need- shorts, sports bras, socks, gloves, warm slippers for the chamber, and robes( of course). I did a beginners session for Cryotherapy. It is $30. Regular price is $50. My experience: I went and changed and put on a robe, then walked to the cryotherapy room, there were warm slippers waiting for me, they asked if there was a song I would like to listen to so time would go faster, I quickly got into the full body chamber, I noticed a clock winding down above me, came out and was handed my warmed up robe. After, they told me there was coffee and tea in their sitting area I could enjoy. They also have some nice products to use to get ready after your treatment. I would definitely go again. Had a wonderful experience here this morning. First time doing full body cryotherapy. The woman up front took such great care of me and explained everything. The robes are so fluffy and luxurious. The atmosphere is so serene and calm. I love that they have tea and water available in the large room in the center with couches and chairs to allow you to get comfy. SUCH AN AMAZING SPA. From the second I walked in, to the second I walked out... I was pleased with every single aspect of this place. To start, when I was first emailing them... they were so prompt in all of their email replies to me. I really do appreciate that in a business. Moving on to their facility... it is so clean and calming. It's definitely easy to relax in this environment. When I checked in for my appointment, I was taken on a tour of the facility... they offer so many services!! I got a hot stone massage and then I had a float session. This massage was one of the best massages I've had in my entire life... and I get massages A LOT. It felt so good and was so relaxing! And then this was my first time doing a float session, and I felt so relaxed after it! Just to walk everyone through the process... -You have your own room with either a pod or cabin. You can choose which one you want. The pod is smaller than the cabin, and that's the only way they differ. -You put earplugs in, fully shower (NO CONDITIONER), and put petroleum jelly on any little scrapes to protect from the salt. -Music will start to play to let you know your session is starting. You step into your pod or cabin, lay down, and float. And trust me, you will float!!! There is so much salt in there. -You are encouraged to turn the lights off, but if you don't want to... you can leave them on. The door can open at any time... you are never "trapped" in there. If you need immediate assistance, there is a panic button to push for help. -Music will start to play again for 5 minutes when your session is over. -You will then completely shower off again (you can use conditioner now) and then you're done! 100% would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!! I waited almost two years to use my birthday gift certificate and I'm not sure why!? Self care is important, and these guys help you do it up right! I did a 30 minute session of leg compression, 30 minutes in the infrared sauna, and a 60 minute float and it was the perfect way to relax during thanksgiving/birthday week craziness! Their staff is super professional and the spa itself is lovely. They have a fully stocked locker room and private showers in the treatment rooms. I have never treated myself to a spa or anything of this nature aside from getting manis and pedis and I am extremely happy that I chose this place to be my first one! From scheduling the appointment, upon arrival and departure.. everything was so smooth. The facility is beautiful, well maintained and so relaxing. As for my experience with floating.. at first I was a bit skeptical because I get claustrophobic but I had a cabin which is slightly bigger than the pod so it was very nice. I actually fell asleep haha. They have showers in the room with the pods so that you can freshen up and then their powder room has just about everything you need, from deodorant to hair styling things. When I arrived, I was absolutely blown away by the overwhelming kindness portrayed by the staff here at this location, especially from the receptionist, Madison Ruth Scott. They were very efficient in regards to scheduling my appointment and accommodating to my specific needs throughout the entire registration process. Then, the party started. The technology that they incorporate at this location is groundbreaking and was much more effective in reducing my soreness from working out with the football team than any other treatment facility I had previously visited off campus. I must start by saying - I have had a lot of massages. Today, however, I had the BEST one ever with Travina! My job requires me to lift heavy boxes and involves a lot of repetitive movement. I was holding stress in almost every area of my body when I went in. Travina listened to my needs and worked magic with the perfect amount of pressure. I went for a 1 hour float in the pod and loved it. It was an amazing experience, total relaxation, and fell asleep unknowingly and woke up totally relaxed and at peace. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to check out and reset, but does not have much time. It was kind of like a solo vacation to the beach. The entire process takes about 2 hours because you take a shower before and after and need to wash your hair. My skin feels so soft after the float. I look forward to going back soon. read more

I've been wanting to try sensory deprivation for a couple of decades now. What a great experience! We had a spa day for our anniversary and I can't think of a better way to have spent it. We did BrainTap sessions, massages with Travina, floats, and hydro-massages. It was awesome! We are planning on buying another package to share, plus I'm going back myself to try the cryotherapy. Mike and Kenzie were so friendly and Mike seemed to genuinely want to make sure that we had a great day together. He gave us the tour once we were signed in and explained how all of the services worked and what to expect from them. All of it was so relaxing. The spa is very clean and comfortable. We were invited to stay and chill in the relaxation room as long as we wanted, but we had to eventually drag ourselves back to reality (kids). I wouldn't have changed a single thing, except one, and it's minor. If you're tall (I'm 6' 2"), request a float cabin instead of a pod. It just gives you more room to really stretch out. I've been waiting for FLOATspa Katy to open and couldn't wait to try it out. From the moment you walk in you just feel like it's "your time" to relax and be pampered. It's beautiful inside and the decor is soothing and inviting. It was my first float and I wasn't really sure what to expect. One of the owners greeted me and walked me through what I was about to experience. They have robes, towels and slippers for you to change in to before going to the pod. Once you are in your "pod room" you have complete privacy. There is a shower inside the room that you use before getting into the pod. They provide ear plugs that protect your ears from the water. Then, you just climb in and float! The pod is a bit space-like and you can choose if you leave the lights on or if you turn them off. I did both. The lights are soothing and slowly change colors. Once your session begins, music is played for 5 minutes then it goes silent...and you float. At first, I couldn't relax. My neck hurt, my shoulders hurt, etc...all from tense muscles. But, as I floated I felt the tension just go away. Within just a few minutes my neck "popped" three times then it relaxed. It was amazing! To alert you that the float is almost over the music will come back on for 5 minutes and then a voice will say, "Your session is now over". That's the only disappointing thing about the float...when it's over! Then, you get out, shower again (they provide soap, shampoo, conditioner) to get the salt off your body and you're done! The bathroom has hair dryers, qtips, etc. You just need to bring a comb/brush. I followed the float with 10 minutes in the hydromassage chair. Water jets massage your body while you control the areas of focus. It was a great ending to the float. I highly recommend trying this place. It was something new to try and I'll be back again. read more

I can't rave enough about my experience here!! I suffer from daily pain due to my auto immune and have recently started a journey towards self healing. This was my first stop and boy am I in love. I have a list of wellness bucket list treatments and thought I'd check this off first as I'm a firm believer if you heal your mind your body will follow. I suffer from fatigue and have a difficult tome relaxing due to pain and boy oh boy this is a game changer. My choices for today's visit consisted of 1)The Brain Tap paired up with the leg compression 2) 30 min Float 3) followed by 15 min hydromassage. This here lady's & gents is the order to follow. It just all flowed together. The brain tap is like a pre-relaxation and just gets you in the mood. The float itself is heavenly. I admitted I was a bit skeptical and didn't believe it had true potential but let's just say my next session is already booked. And the hydromassage is a must- I just felt like it flows well post float and help end this session beautifully-like a final decompression. The staff was/is AMAZING!!! Very informative, walked me through everything step by step, very attentive and best of all I got to meet her beautiful daughter who helped with the tour and at the end handed me a beautiful picture(s) that she made for me during my stay.
