I found this floating yoga class on classpass and was excited to try it out! It turned out to be so much fun! It was a nice and small group of 5 people. The instructor was helpful, and did a great job of demonstrating the yoga poses. We started out by paddling a short distance on the Stand up paddle board (SUP) into the lagoon. After throwing down our anchors, we had an amazing hour of stretching, holding yoga poses, and relaxation. The combination of being out on the still water (there was really no wake except for those caused by a few rowers) and warming/stretching out the body was perfect. I would highly recommend this for those looking for a unique, calming yoga session. Do know that there is a possibility of falling in the water, but with a little balance, it's not too difficult! Another plus: The instructor also took photos of us during the session and we were able to download them from Facebook! read more

I really enjoyed this experience. We reached out and requested a group class for ten of us and being a beginner yogi I was a little nervous but I ended up having fun. The instructors made everyone feel comfortable but still ensured that the more advanced in the group got a good workout. I'm looking forward to booking another class. read more

Got to experience my first SUP yoga class ever with Floating Yogis yesterday through ClassPass. From the start, a welcoming experience from the staff to others taking the class. My goal was not to fall in and was reassured that it was really hard to. A few poses felt really difficult, but that's because I'm just not good at yoga. Spending time on the water and in my own space was a welcome change to my typical crowded spin and Pilates classes. I'm excited to return and am also going to check out their special events for for the full moon! read more

My kids did the 3 day summer camp and absolutely loved it. It was a combination of Yoga, paddle boarding, games and they did a craft with colored sand. Each day they would come home and talk about what they did as well as look forward to the next day. Two thumbs up! Thank you for the wonderful memories! read more

We bought a groupon for floating yoga last year and finally got around to using it. It was our first time! Marci and Sarah are so sweet. We can definitely see how passionate they are with what they do. The class overall is great for all types of levels. You can modify your moves to fit how comfortable you are. It was a beautiful day out, sun shining and no wind. We will definitely be back to do this yoga class! read more

Sarah and Marci (as well as the rest of the instructors) at Floating Yogis are amazing! The company is great- great location, great classes, great people. I've done both the sunset class and the morning class- both equally as fun/relaxing/enjoyable. I want to try out the full moon paddle, which looks super cool too. Highly recommend! read more

This was such a fun experience! I own a SUP and am a certified yoga teacher so combining the two was great! The teachers were so nice and helpful to my friend and I as first timers. Their sequence they taught was great and really challenging but having different layers to the poses helps. I would definitely recommend trying this, I can't wait to do it again! read more

I have been wanting to muster up the courage to try SUP yoga for a long time. When the groupon came out for Floating Yogis I jumped on it! I am incredibly happy I did! I am honestly surprised I didn't chicken out and not use the groupon. I have tried SUP 2 or 3 times in the Carlsbad lagoon and loved it! I have been practicing yoga for upwards of 5 years (hot yoga and normal vinyasa) but at times find it to be a little to simple. I was truly afraid I was going to fall into the lagoon upon practicing SUP yoga but to my surprise I did not! I also thought the flying fish was going to be a huge issue for me but they were not. In fact they added a complete opposite of distraction for me. I was able to focus far more doing SUP yoga then I have ever been able to doing yoga on "dry land." I never knew I could work the muscles under my scapula's doing yoga! I will have to say that I am proud of myself for trying Floating Yogis. Marci and Sarah are great! They go slow enough for you to get into your poses and give excellent instruction, especially for being on a paddle board. The whole experience was one of a kind. I was able to get up into wheel and camel pose, which truly was amazing. I have done yoga at the beach but it is not the same as my SUP yoga experience. The balance of shifting body weight evenly that the board teaches you can not be duplicated elsewhere. Try them out! You will be pleasantly surprised! (I am not a paddle board expert by any means but I will say the boards provided are great ones!) read more

Wonderful experience great people and fabulous workout. Highly recommend either you're an expert or a novice a cater to all levels.

This was seriously an experience to remember! Super calming and such a good time. They made it so easy to get everything going. Super friendly instructor and even checked in after to see how my experience was. I highly recommend this. The energy level is incredible. Floating yogis was an awesome experience I will definitely be doing again! The owners were so friendly, outgoing, and positive. They are both amazing at what they do. It was the perfect way to start our weekend! I don't do yoga on a regular basis, with that said they gave plenty of modifications because obviously being on the water is more difficult than being on a flat surface. I loved the feeling of floating, and looking up at the sky while doing yoga!!! read more

My mom and I took a sunset SUP yoga class with Christy in Saturday evening and had an amazing time. We were nervous about falling in as we are familiar with yoga but not so much with stand up paddle boarding. Happy to say we did not fall in thanks to the helpful direction of Christy! This was by far one of the coolest things I have ever done. It was a challenge but so much fun. Being out on the water & doing yoga was an incredible experience. I can't wait to go back! read more

I just took my very first yoga class ever... on a paddleboard! Am I crazy? Probably. Regardless, I gotta say... I had such a blast! I'm no stranger to fitness, however I am a cardio queen - and a high strung one at that! I've been feeling incredibly stressed out and struggling to find my "sparkle" lately... When I saw a friend's pictures of her Floating Yogis experience, I knew it was something I HAD to try! I've always felt intimidated to try yoga... The number of people in a typical class stresses me out and I don't know a warrior from a tree pose - but I love the water (and the max of 8 people/class was an added bonus), so I thought what better time to try a class than now! So I signed up, and waited very impatiently for the week to pass! The morning finally arrived! I missed the opportunity to back out 2 hours prior (darn!), and the nerves slowly took over... Really, what was I thinking? But it was a gorgeous day, so I drove on down (taking a minor "detour" along the coast - east, west, right, left... I swear I know my directions). Marci and Sarah made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. I'm the kind of person that should always keep both feet planted on the ground (saying I'm a klutz is putting it lightly)! As soon as I got on the board, I had to let all my inhibitions go... and it felt great! Yes, I was wobbly. Yes, there were a few moments where I was absolutely convinced I was going in the water (I didn't!). Yes, there were a few poses I didn't know what the heck I was doing. None of that mattered. I was the most relaxed and at peace I've been in awhile. "It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of the things and still." I truly enjoyed every second of the experience and I hope to take another class with them soon! Thank you for everything! :) read more

I did the full moon meditation and it did not disappoint. I had never been paddle boarding before and the instructor did a great job explaining what to do and how to maneuver my board. I actually got the confidence to stand all the way up! Once we got far enough away we meditated as the full moon rose up over the mountains. It was breathtaking. Would highly recommend! read more

They are both excellent teachers and make a great team for making you feel comfortable and safe! I had never tried paddleboarding before let alone yoga on a paddle board but they guided everyone including my clutzy self through it! I would recommend this to anyone even if you are slightly afraid of doing this! Paddle boarding is a decent workout but it can be modified to whatever level you are. Thank you Marci and Sara! read more

Floating Yogis - Down a hill at the lagoon- a cute little studio inside and that goon - Paddleboarding Near Me - Carlsbad, California

As a person who regularly checks Yelp order to help with restaurants and service decisions, I can understand how a review, written by the husband of one of the owners, could be potentially biased in his review. However, I have been meaning to write one for quite a while now and as you will hopefully notice by the other reviews, my comments are not hype, fluff or marketing in any way, but rather a genuine appreciation for my wife, her business partner and the unique community they have created out on the water. With my work schedule, I don't have the opportunity to take their classes as often as I would like, but this past Friday I did, and can I just say what a special experience it was? Yes, the thermometer initially got my worried about "how cold it could be out on the water" and yet with the glassy like canvas, we sauntered out to a most serene, calming, and invigorating class time. We had people out that had never really done yoga or paddle boarding before, all the way up to an older surfer dude, who has lived by the lagoon for 15 years and wanted to try something new. Marci really does do a excellent job of guiding each student through their own unique practice, with additional challenges based upon one's ability and desires. Sarah, (my wife), is incredible to watch (I know biased) as she is 8 months pregnant, and yet her ability to model the poses, stealthily take great photos to capture the unique moments, all add to the wonderful time. Your core is engaged as you balance through each pose, the water lapping against the board as you lay in stillness at the end, makes you feel something special inside, especially as the cars on the 5 freeway jealousy wiz by in the distance, probably wishing they had prioritized differently to allow for this class their day. : ) I can't endorse or recommend these classes highly enough, again not because I am related, but rather because they are one of the best experiences you will have in your day, month or life. But don't take my word for it, try one yourself and see if you don't desire to become part of the Floating Yogis family. read more

Came back last night for full moon paddle. Its was $25 a person and although the moon never showed it was a beautiful and relaxing night. We saw jellyfish and fish jumping. Afterwards, we sat outside and enjoyed the night with drinks and snacks. Most relaxing yoga ever!! I went with group of friends with all levels of experience. Some of never paddle board and others have done yoga forever and can do mermaid and crazy stuff. It made us all happy and challenged us. Best of all is no one fell in. It was a perfect morning not too cold or hot. We all have started looking into when we can go back. It's not cheap which is why it's not five starts. read more

I've been here twice now and both times were wonderful experiences! We had the most WONDERFUL time here! I visited with a few of my girlfriends for a getaway weekend and this was definitely the highlight! The instructors were extremely kind and made sure we had a relaxing and enjoyable yoga experience. We had a groupon price which they honored no problem. They even had donuts and coffee waiting for us! I can't wait to go take another class and enjoy some relaxing beach time. The paddle boards were super easy to stay on- no one fell off, even me, an inexperienced paddleboarder. And they have you float in a bay that is sheltered from ocean waves. I'd recommend this to anyone, what a fun activity! read more

The perfect way to spend a morning out on the water. Sarah and Marci are so welcoming and they create such a magical and memorable experience on the water. I always have fun with this group of yogis; kind, talented and creative outdoorsy people. How can you beat paddling out to a quiet area of the lagoon, sun shining, fish jumping and water lapping under your paddle? Did anyone say yoga? They know their stuff and gently lead classes that are at once blissful and informative, yet challenging. The hour and half class time goes fast. I went for both classes and teacher certification. A real treat. A great and fun bonding thing to do with families and friends. Certainly starts out the day well and ends the day in happiness. Marci and Sarah are an amazing team. A real team! As in teamwork, joy of what they do and they share this joy. Their concern for the student and safety of the group builds confidence and is inclusive. Everyone has a good time no matter the skill and fitness level. read more

It was so refreshing doing down dog and shavasana on the water and feeling like I was enveloped in the universe!I am certainly making Floating Yogis a part of my self care routine! A MUST TRY 4 ALL!!! Just went for my 3rd session with Floating Yogi's yesterday and again, it was an amazing experience! Bought the 3 session pkg on groupon as had been wanting to try but since I didn't have any paddleboarding experience, wasn't sure how it would go. Well, Marci & the other instructors are great and really take the time to make sure you feel comfortable! I was just happy not to fall in but really pleasantly surprised at what a great yoga practice I receive each time- Marci is an awesome teacher! The sensation of being on the water in such a peaceful, serene environment is AWESOME. Nothing like it. I look forward to my next outing already!!! read more

I had a lovely SUP yoga class with Floating Yogis. I highly recommend the class to anyone who wants to spend peaceful time in nature or to expand on a yoga routine. I went to a class on my own and had a terrific time, and I could see how a class would be a fun way to spend time with friends or show out-of-town guests a great time. Sarah and Marci are very organized and made starting class easy. You don't need to have paddle board or yoga experience to enjoy the class. Sarah and Marci explain everything well and make sure that you are comfortable. Marci expertly guided the class through a series of poses that were easy to follow and fun to perform on the paddle board. I like how SUP yoga challenged my balance, and practicing yoga on the peaceful water with birds flying by was heavenly. I felt that I got a mini vacation during the SUP yoga class and look forward to learning from Sarah and Marci again. read more

I was looking for a way to workout and entertain some out of town guests and boy did this class deliver both. Three of us went with varying levels of yoga and SUP experience and I'm pleased to report that no one fell in and all three of us had a great time. It was so relaxing to be out on the lagoon floating while the birds chirped in the background. The instructors gave suggestions for all levels from beginner to advanced so everyone was able to get a good stretch. They also took pictures for us and shared them so we all had some nice souvenirs of our time. I will be back to do this again! read more

I've tried both the morning and sunset SUP yoga classes with Christy. She greets you like an old friend when you come to class and offers encouragements about your awesomeness throughout. You enter in ankle deep water and paddle on knees or standing a short distance as a group. Christy tows you if needed so everyone is close enough to hear directions. Each board has an anchor and paddle strap so your board is the only thing you think about. If you are apprehensive about trying, Christy makes sure you are in more stable positions (such as downward dog) when it gets slightly rocky. I get severe motion sickness, but the movement of the water doesn't bother me at all. Christy is an amazing instructor, giving just enough instructions to keep you focused while allowing for quiet moments to reflect on your practice. She warns about small waves that are generated by the boats on the lagoon. Time goes by fast as you move through poses and work up to ones that require more balance. Modifications are offered if you aren't ready for warrior on a board. Tonight, the class ended with relaxation as the sunset. I can't think of a better way to start the weekend. The SUP yoga classes completely transform me. I enter as a whirlwind and leave in a blissful zen state. read more

Wonderful experience! Peaceful and enjoyable day out on the water! Love the instructors and the overall experience!!

Wow! What an experience Floating Yogis is. I just took my very first SUP class with them and it was awesome, challenging but awesome. Also my first time on a paddleboard. Marci and Sarah were AMAZING! They made me feel very welcome and comfortable right from the start. Despite me being a newbie and clearly the least experience in our group, I never felt out of place. I took the sunset class, weather conditions weren't ideal, little windy and water a little choppy at times but that can't be controlled. The class was tailored to meet the conditions. Lots of modification suggestions for each of the poses for those with little experience on up for those who are pros. The sunset paddle back in was BEAUTIFUL. I totally recommend Floating Yogis, lots of class options to choose from and class sizes are small! read more
