Came here for a quick bite and to beat the heat a little. I ordered a Mexican mule and the tacos verdes with fish. The mule was fantastic and a great way to cool off from the hot sun. The tacos verdes were surprisingly good, the fish was a large filet and seasoned well. The side of rice and beans was not very good. The beans seemed fresh from a can and the rice was really overcooked and mushy. read more

Came today to try it out. Didn't look packed like usual weekends. Went on top to balcony. Waited for 20 min no server. Another couple of ladies come by sit not to far from me....and they get served not even few moments later. Watched them get served...and the server still didn't come to check on me at all. I love float so much! I always have a great time when I drop by! They have great tasting drinks, and I love to dip my feet in the pool while enjoying my drink.They have a pool that connects to the bar and some seats inside the water with a little bar, where you can order drinks & food and never have to leave the pool. The vibes here are always so cool, they play great music and always have a nice party vibe going. The patio--spacious enough to host a county fair--proved ideal for lounging, cavorting, or pretending to be far more genteel than one truly is. I declare, had ye told me in my youth that one could sip a cocktail whilst dangling one's feet in cool waters, I would've scoffed and demanded a duel. I have been to Galveston hundreds of times and never have I seen this place! We came on Mardi Gras weekend, so our reservations at BLVD were made for 2 and we had an hour to kill. Walked to Float and I am forever thankful we did!! Walked in and you could just tell it was a local restaurant. We kind of stuck out because I had my 16 month old with me and the entire room is centered around the bar. Tons of people inside, so we decided to go outside and figured out why it's called Float!!! There is a pool on the outside deck!!!!!!! You can sit out side and even go upstairs on the deck and have a beach view! We decided to go up! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating! She had our drinks to us in a matter of minutes! I chose a mimosa and my mom had the Beach Babe. The waitress told her that was her favorite! It was sweet and delicious! Since we were eating a late lunch, we decided to just get the chips and queso. EPIC!!! Loved the salsa the most! My daughter loved the queso! The best part of the whole experience was the staff! The manager came and checked on us multiple times. Our waitress was amazing. When she was busy with other tables, the other waitstaff helped with delivering drinks and checking in on us! I love coming here for happy hour and enjoying the pool bar! Happy hour is 4-7 on M-F and I love the crawfish egg rolls and mozzarella sticks. They also offer $3 margs and $6 beer pitchers which is a steal. There is lots of seating and even when it gets busy I didn't feel like the pool was overcrowded. There are indoor and outdoor tables and a second level as well so plenty of space and each table has umbrellas for shade. I also appreciate that after 2PM there is a no kids policy. read more
