I love float so much! I always have a great time when I drop by! They have great tasting drinks, and I love to dip my feet in the pool while enjoying my drink.They have a pool that connects to the bar and some seats inside the water with a little bar, where you can order drinks & food and never have to leave the pool. The vibes here are always so cool, they play great music and always have a nice party vibe going. The patio--spacious enough to host a county fair--proved ideal for lounging, cavorting, or pretending to be far more genteel than one truly is. I have been to Galveston hundreds of times and never have I seen this place! We came on Mardi Gras weekend, so our reservations at BLVD were made for 2 and we had an hour to kill. Walked to Float and I am forever thankful we did!! Walked in and you could just tell it was a local restaurant. We kind of stuck out because I had my 16 month old with me and the entire room is centered around the bar. Tons of people inside, so we decided to go outside and figured out why it's called Float!!! There is a pool on the outside deck!!!!!!! You can sit out side and even go upstairs on the deck and have a beach view! We decided to go up! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating! She had our drinks to us in a matter of minutes! I chose a mimosa and my mom had the Beach Babe. The waitress told her that was her favorite! It was sweet and delicious! Since we were eating a late lunch, we decided to just get the chips and queso. EPIC!!! Loved the salsa the most! My daughter loved the queso! The best part of the whole experience was the staff! The manager came and checked on us multiple times. Our waitress was amazing. When she was busy with other tables, the other waitstaff helped with delivering drinks and checking in on us! They loved interacting with my daughter and watching her run around the pool and play! Wonderful experience!!!! We can't wait to come back in the summer and wear our swim suits!! read more

I love coming here for happy hour and enjoying the pool bar! Happy hour is 4-7 on M-F and I love the crawfish egg rolls and mozzarella sticks. They also offer $3 margs and $6 beer pitchers which is a steal. There is lots of seating and even when it gets busy I didn't feel like the pool was overcrowded. There are indoor and outdoor tables and a second level as well so plenty of space and each table has umbrellas for shade. I also appreciate that after 2PM there is a no kids policy. read more

Love going to this place when I visit the pier. The burgers are amazing and highly recommend. Drinks are cheap with the most expensive one being about 7 dollars. The view is great. The only thing that sucks is that the tables are small. You. can seat maybe 5 people per table. The way the restaurant is set up makes it impossible for tables to be put together. --------- I came back after a couple of years and this place is just as good as I remember it. Ok, sitting in the pool and having drinks was great, and customer service from bar was good. As long as we asked for attention. After spending a few hours in the pool, decided to have dinner. That was a mistake. Ordered the fried shrimp platter. Oh my. How bad that was is hard to describe. Try to imagine a hardshell of fried batter over a tough rubbery and chemical tasting thing out of a freezer and called a shrimp. Holy crap guys, this is not where you cut corners. Even the Spot down the street has 100 times better shrimp. If you're not going to have better quality, please remove from the menu. A fun afternoon but no place to eat. Review update. I don't usually update and revise... The kitchen manager hear about my experience with the meal and was very concerned. After listening to me, they promptly compensated without my request.
