I made a reservation several days in advance for the float and infrared service at Float Nola for a restorative day on my birthday. Upon ending the call, the owner realized he had booked my appointment for the wrong year. He assured me he would fix it. On the morning of my appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early and started filling out paperwork. The owner initially mistook me for someone else, then answered a phone call. When he finished his call, I gave him my name, he said they had no record of my appointment. I assured him I did, and he accusatorily claimed I hadn't confirmed when they called - I never received a confirmation call from them. I was shocked and reminded him about the booking error from earlier, which he remembered. Even after acknowledging his mistake, he refused to take accountability and became hostile to me. He reluctantly offered to fit me in at 5 pm, but I insisted it was unacceptable. He became visibly upset, claiming it would inconvenience others, but eventually agreed to allow me to proceed with the service. He was very short with me, told me to shower before and after, and closed the down behind me. To my dismay, the water appeared discolored, and I even found a dead spider in it and concluded the water might not be adequately maintained between clients. I could hear him chatting loudly with another man in the lobby about unrelated topics like sports bars for about 20 minutes during the session. There were earplugs in the room, but I didn't use them, assuming they were for the saltwater not to drown out the owner's conversation in a supposedly tranquil wellness space. The conversation was so loud that I had to leave the tank to grab my phone and put on my own meditative music. Ultimately, it was not a good experience. The first 35 minutes of my hour-long session were spent trying to calm down from the stress of the situation. After the float, I asked the owner if a shower was available after my sauna session. Instead of a shower, I was told to take a cold plunge (what?!?), which was unsuitable for cleaning up before my following activities. At the end of my visit, I spoke briefly with a woman who claimed to be the co-owner. I expressed my dissatisfaction, mentioning the incident with the other owner and raising his voice. She apologized; it did not seem sincere or empathetic, but offered to comp the de minimus amount left after using a gift card, citing it was my birthday. However, considering the poor service, I felt the gesture was insufficient. Overall, my experience at Float Nola was deeply disappointing, and I will not be returning. ***Update: In her response below, the co-owner indicated they attempted to rectify the situation by "waiving the remaining balance." The remaining balance was $4.00, yes, FOUR dollars. As many others have indicated about Cecil, beware, and this business lacks accountability. I will also be updating this review with a picture of the brown water - the owners will try to say it's the lighting or a shadow, and I can assure you that it is not***

Worlds best float. I own a tank and this place is amazing. They use a special type of magnesium that does not burn eyes. Must must visit. Owner is fantastic

Was my first time floating and was an insanely positive experience!! Very unique, clean and refreshing.

A good place to sit for a few minutes after an infrared session.

So I was already going to give this place a raving review and had forgotten about it for a minute until i just felt under my chin and literally it feels flatter and smoother than ever! Lydia did a full body massage and a face massage. I also did a 45 minute infrared sauna session. This morning I walked in with a hangover and although it is hard to get rid of, I would give this place 10 stars if I could for making my morning so much better. What a great experience. Thank you!!

Cecil was very professional and explained the float process well. I enjoyed the float but wasn't prepared to breathe such warm air the whole time. You should know in advance that the room is purposefully kept quite warm! I loved not being cold while floating, it just took time to adjust to it. Lydia's massage was very good. I loved that she took my cues and the massage wasn't talkative. Very relaxing. The spa is beautifully decorated and has a very calming aesthetic.

I've been a client of Mandy's since 2016 and I am SO fortunate I found her. Mandy is the real deal…read moreand has become a good friend over the years. She has truly TRANSFORMED my skin and because of her, I was able to get my confidence back. Initially, when I came to her, I had the WORST breakout of my life. Cystic, blackhead, whitehead, you name it (pictured below). I had it all. The breakout lasted over a several month period before I saw her (approx. 3 months or more) and showed no signs of stopping, just getting worse. At the time, I was a sophomore in college and this gave me extreme social anxiety and insecurity as I was worried that people were constantly looking at my acne and not my face. Looks definitely don't mean everything to me, but I was tired of other people being so distracted by my face that they were treating differently. It was a very challenging time for me, but luckily my mom found this exact Yelp page when she was doing research and so we agreed to try her out. I was at the end of my rope -- so ready to give up and just accept the infected, acne-ridden skin I had. I didn't think it was possible to change it. I originally didn't have high expectations when I first saw her and I thought that this was going to be a dud, like all of my other efforts had been to fix my skin. Prior to Mandy, I had a dermatologist, had been on at least 3 different acne medications, including Acutane (many of which actually made me physically sick or ill -- almost hospitalized) as well as having tried so many face washes and masks that I truly thought that I was maybe cursed with acne for life. Since day one, Mandy has been kind, compassionate and extremely helpful when assisting me with my skin. I go see her anytime I possibly can to get my skin treated or when I have a question about a new product or skin regimen. I trust her 110% and she has more than delivered, over and over again. She treats all of her clients with the utmost professionalism and care, as well as personalizes her care to YOUR specific skin. Over the summer in college, when I went back to California, Mandy also did research for me and temporarily referred me to an acne specialist she trusted. In the meantime before I got back, they helped me. I have never gone back to anyone else about my skin -- not even a dermatologist -- because I have never needed to. Mandy knows her stuff and I have been able to fix my acne problem just with her. My face is living proof that what she does works. It might as well be magic to me, because I couldn't have done it by myself. All of the time and investment I've spent on my skin with her has been totally worth it and I would do it again if I ever needed to. Today, I still have acne trouble, but that is mostly due to hormones. Either way, Mandy has been there by my side to help me figure it out and make it manageable. Soon, I'm going to be working on clearing up my acne scars with her and I can't wait. Thank you Mandy, for all you have done for me and so many others!! You are not only changing skin but changing lives.
