Have gone here as an avid cyclists for years. The work and advice is top notch. Took a decades old Trek and breathed new life into it to make it my king endurance bike. Wasn't sure about the headset as couldn't seem to get it right for an adjustment. Went in and asked if it was okay and learned it wasn't. It was a quiet time on a weekday;, Flo examined and then fixed it in minutes. I marveled at that and was grateful to have the issue resolved. He's always been kind answering questions and offering solutions. This is a great Hoboken business. Really appreciate the kindness. Thank you, Flo! read more

A superb example of a hardworking, kind and caring local store can be. Flo and the team always greets with a smile, provides strong recommendations on mechanical issues, parts or new bikes. I've purchased one, had others regularly serviced and one very special vintage bike reconditioned and rebuilt here. Pricing, timing, guidance and customer care are top notch. Spring is busy season as everyone wants a new bike and the store isn't designed for 30 people and bikes simultaneously, so a little patience is needed. The team will get to you and they want to help you kindly. read more

I showed up with my Cannondale road bike that needed both shifters replaced due to corrosion, and I needed it done within 24 hours due to cycling trip in the Berkshires that coming weekend. Flo was the only shop in the whole NYC area that had the right shifters in stock and was able to install them on time and at a totally reasonable price. Great work done right, on time, at a fair price. These guys are life savers! read more

There are very few places I will trust my bike to. As I've found, bikes are such an easy thing to half ass, and Flo definitely does not. I've lived in Hoboken, Weehawken, and now Jersey City, and I've gone to Flo every time I needed something. They've fixed my brakes, and fixed my flats. Their tune ups are a lifesaver and make a marked difference every single time. Last year when I got a new bike, idiot me had the (name brand, big box store having a big sale) store put it together. It rode a little funny, so I took it to Flo, and based on their quick assessment of how terribly it was put together, they said it was lucky I made it there with the bike in one piece. For the price of a tune up, they completely disassembled and reassembled the bike, and the difference was incredible. I'd trust them with any bike, and lean into any recommendation they made. read more

For all the gentrification, all the money there are still a number of businesses in town that that do it all the old way and the best way. Delis? M & P Biancamano. Dull blades? Hoboken Knife Sharpening. Bike repair? Well, that's Flo on Wheels. After cleaning the drive train yesterday I noticed my gears were shifting a little rough. There isn't a bike shop in the area that wouldn't have taken my ride in for three days and a $100 tune up. So I rolled into Flo this morning. He apologized 'cause he couldn't fix it right there but said he'd call in two hours and he did. He explained the issue with the deraileur he had corrected but was even more excited about having tightened my precariously adjusted brakes! I was charged a quarter of what some of the other shops nearby would have. I almost can't wait for my bike to need another fix so I can bring it back. read more

The chain fell off my +25 yr old Specialized Hardrock bike, and I brought it into Flo on Wheels on Monday to get it fixed. Customer service was great - they were up front about repair costs, super friendly, and were able to repair the chain and replace my back wheel in just a few days. They brought my bike back to life and it's riding like its brand new! Bonus points for them having an air pump outside the store! read more

Found this great "old school" bike shop by accident. First off...Flo the owner is a gentleman. Let me borrow an Allen wrench set (which I purchased at a discount). The whole "vibe" I got took me back to the bike shops of my youth in Queens, NY. He was very impressed with my original Diamond Back Ridge Runner from 1982. Told me to never sell it. He also let me test ride a beautiful new Cannondale around the neighborhood. I live in North Bergen, but I will be going back to this shop. Flo has found a happy new customer! Also met his son who works with him. Also a gentleman. read more

Not sure if I stopped in on an off day, but I received some pretty poor service during my visit to Flo On Wheels. I guess it was just night and day from my experience from another local bike shop (where I ended up purchasing my bike). No one really acknowledged me or offered to help me. They were crowded and I can obviously understand that it's not as easy to get help on a busy day, but even when I did get the chance to speak to a sales person they seemed a bit bothered. My advice would be to avoid coming in during a weekend if you are looking for some help / advice with the purchase. But if you know what you like and don't need much guidance I'm sure you'd be fine. Despite being a small space, they did have a good amount of selection. You can also take any of the bikes around for a spin so you can try before you buy. Most reviews are amazing, so I'm sure I just caught them on an off day. I just like a good amount of personalized help / attention when making such a large purchase decision, and I unfortunately did not get that during my visit here. read more

Flo (the owner) was extremely helpful and made my purchasing experience seamless. I would recommend anyone to visit Flo on Wheels for your bike purchase. read more

Knowlegeable, trustworthy, reasonable repair rates, and really nice. I recommend this bike shop %

Great family run business open for 32 years. Always gives expert friendly service. Highly recommend.

Great selection of bikes, some great deals to be had and great service! Wonderful Hoboken bike shop. The guy who owns it has been there for 30 years (his name is "Flo") and he's really humble. Not only does he know what he's talking about, he's also really helpful and doesn't try to nickle and dime you. Went in with a friend looking for a nice road bike and walked about 20 minutes later with a Specialized Allez that was only sale for 20% off. I googled and couldn't find a lower price or anything close to that price online. Definitely recommend this place if you live in the area and need a bike. They also threw in and installed the water bottle holder and a water bottle. read more

These folks are so awesome. I knew they were great, sell high quality merchandise and are great at service and followup, but today they went so far above and beyond. As a 40-something, I had the idea of trying a 3 wheel scooter like my kids. I was feeling confident and strong and was sure I could do it. Flo said if for whatever reason it didn't work for me, to come back. Welp. After trying it a few times, being coached by my kids, and still being unable to steer, I sheepishly brought it back months later. Flo and Claudia swapped it out for a 2 wheeler that I think will be easier for me to steer. So far above and beyond...I'm so grateful! Wish me luck on learning to ride this one! read more

I am 40y female, marathoner, never biked before, and I am 5.5 On 04/27 I bought my Specialized Cross, size L, all suggested by Flo. A month into it, I found out it was the wrong size, I am a S. That explained the coccyx pain, Lower back pain, knee pain. June I went back to Flo and he refunded me - no questions asked, no explanations, just here's your money. Not even an apology. Flo has been doing this FOR YEARS. He knew he sold me the wrong size. But he did it, because he didn't have a smaller size and he knew I didn't understand about bikes. So he took advantage of my inexperience, which led to injury (during covid! as if places are open to get treatments !) This was the best this small business man who sells bikes for living was able to do: during a pandemic sell the wrong bike size (2 sizes up!) to someone who tells him she has afraid of bikes. This deserves to be noted. read more

This place is just a gem. Quick service, great inventory (and if they don't have it, they WILL get it, and just a fun place to shop. Friendly staff, even when they're up to their noses in pothole flats and bent rims. Thanks, Flo. You're the best Mark Curiale read more

I purchased my two Dahon folding bikes in 2010 from Flo On Wheels. At the beginning of each summer for the last 7 years Flo On Wheels has tuned-up each bike free of charge ($130 value each year) as part of their commitment to their customers. Flo and his team are the best bicycle shop I've EVER been to in my life. The bikes, the service are beyond compare. Thank you, Flo On Wheels. PS (Don't know why it says I live in San Francisco. Came in here when a day of planned biking hit a snag when my friend's bike tire went flat and a new tube was needed. We left his bike for 30 minutes, and mine with it for safe keeping while we took a walk. Not only was his bike done right when they said it was and with a smile, but they noticed mine was missing a bolt and went ahead and replaced those as a courtesy. When the time comes for me to invest in a better bike, this place will definitely be on my radar. read more

Flo on Wheels has been helping me (and bike riders) for years. Its June 16th 2020 and pandemic rules make everything harder. My sons blew a hole in his bike tire. I took it to Flo on Wheels and you can tell they have been very busy and working hard to keep up with demand for repairs and service. Instead of leaving the bike there for a day or so they talked with me and we decided that I can do the repair myself. They sold me the right size tire and tube. If I had any trouble I could come back to them. I replaced the old dry tire with a big hole in the tube in less then 30 minutes! My son is back riding with his brother and friends. It is this kind of personal local service that I make the extra effort to shop local and support our towns small business owners. Thank you to Flo On Wheels for supporting the biking community for around 30 years. Stay healthy and help us be healthier. read more

Came in with an issue with my gears, they fixed it in 5 seconds and didn't charge me and filled my tires! Super nice staff, will definitely return read more

I came in for a replacement chain on my bike, and ended up deciding to do a full tuneup with them. My bike saw better days, but they seriously did a great job in cleaning it up and tuning it. Brakes, gears, tires, everything. The bike felt brand new and rock solid. Will come back again for another tune up in the future. Thank you! read more

Great overall experience. Bought my first bike as an adult (product of the corona thing) and realized I had bought an older but nice bike which needed some work. Called up and Flo explained pricing and process over the phone on one call, upfront which I appreciate. I showed up the next day to a seamless transfer of the bike from me to the shop and he called the next day, bike got a full tune up, new seat, new tire, new brakes and I now have a go-to bike shop in my new hood. Def recommend! read more

Great shop and staff! Super knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. Look forward to going to them for all my needs in the future

I was walking home from getting breakfast and stopped by Flo on Wheels just to look. I had not ridden a bike in over 25 years. Within minutes Flo found the perfect bike for me and I took off down Washington street. Although I had not looked at this specific brand (Specialized) I had looked at similar brands so knew the price was reasonable. Best of all Flo is local so if I have a problem or need service (Flo's bikes come with forever service) its convenient. If you want a bike it Flo's is the place to go. read more

This place is amazing! I buy cheap bikes and leave them outside as a result they constantly break and have issues. I just bring them to Flo on wheels and they take care of everything for me from flat tires to broken chains. Not only that but they go above and beyond every time! Tightening nuts and bolts and making sure the bike is safe. They also charge very reasonable prices and the staff is so friendly. This is the first review I have written in a decade probably, but I just had to rave about them! read more

Super knowledgeable, always friendly, and most importantly trust worthy. This is my go to for anything bike related. I bought a Dahon folding bike here and they made it super easy. Due to the ongoing pandemic and an upcoming move to an apartment that was within biking distance of work I decided to buy a bike. Deciding to buy a bike and actually getting to buy one were two separate things as there was a lack of affordable bikes in stock at all of the local bike retailers. At every other bike shop I was told I should just buy an expensive bike but at Flo on Wheels I was recommended a bike that fit my needs and budget, they were super accommodating and so helpful. I cannot day enough nice things. I will continue to go to Flo on Wheels for all of my bike needs even if it is farther than other shops from my new place. read more

These guys are great. Truly one of the many reasons why I will miss leaving Hoboken. I bought my A1 Diverge here and they always treated me with respect and courteousness. Even when I didn't know what in the world I was talking about. Super satisfied customer years later. Not only was I able to get a great bike for my 5'2" stature but also the customer service was just as good at purchase as it has been during service 6 years later. Their shop exemplifies how mom and pop shops can beat big box by making it personal and providing great service to justify price. And speaking of service, the complimentary yearly tune up that comes with the bike purchase is well worth it. I just got this year's done and WOW what a difference!! They took into consideration all the issues I mentioned at drop off and riding it was like having a brand new bike. Highly recommend. read more

Not really a review since the guys behind the counter were too busy to help me another guy was busy cleaning the front door. I've worked retail and was taught that when a customer walks in, someone should stop and see if they can help the customer. I guess they did not see me in the narrow store. I said hello when I walked in but was drowned out by the reggaeton. There were no other customers in the store. I love bicycle riding and for the past year been thinking about getting a brand new bike. I decided today would be the day. I was hoping not to spend more than $300 but willing to go to $500 if persuaded. There was no persuasion or acknowledgment of a customer in the shop. I guess it is up to the customer to find sales help. Maybe they could not wait to get out on this holiday weekend, it is a Saturday and they're going to be closed until Wednesday and who the hell wants one more sale before they go home for a 3 day weekend? After a few minutes of being ignored I walked out. The guy cleaning the door wished me a good weekend and I replied in kind, adding that it would have been nice to have talked to someone inside. He offered to help me but I was on the sidewalk walking away. The front door looks spectacular though. read more

Got a flat on the way home from work on a brutally hot day. So after walking for days (seemed to me, at least), I got to Flo right before they closed. The guys got my tube changed, re taped my wheel and sent me on my way. Solid guys who got me back on the road in a matter of minutes. In a town with an infinite supply of douche bags, these guys are what old school Hoboken used to be. I'll definitely be back to this place. read more

After many years off my bike, Flo got me set up with a new fully loaded stealth black Specialized Tarmac Pro. I flew my other bike across the country for Granfondo Rides in Silicon Valley and Whistler. Flo packed it safely for the BikeFlight shipping and unpacked it with a tuneup when I got back. Now the weather is turning cold he got me a used bike at a great price and set it up for indoor training so I would not stress my lighter carbon bikes. The indoor rig with its bright green seat is perfect for coming winter. Thanks Flo. read more
