Do not buy your wigs at Confident Hair... the products are substandard and there is a total lack of customer service. However this was honestly the best cut and dye I have ever had at a salon, for the best price I have ever seen. I have had the misfortune where my hair, despite deep conditioning and brushing, gets very matted and I've had to actually cut knots out at the back of my head. My stylist saw this and evened out the back so it looked more like natural layers and not my "I've been brushing my hair for twenty minutes I GIVE UP on this knot and cut it out!!!" look I had been sporting. The color was also fantastic, I didn't do anything too crazy, just dyed my hair a dark brown a bit darker than my natural color, as prior to this I had gone a light brown that turned out incredibly red (it was awful, I never want to dye my own hair again), and the new dye job looked amazing and complimented my skin tone amazing. The colorist actually listened to me when I said more ash tones and no reds--most stylists always tell me to make it more red and then my face looks like a tomato. I look forward to coming back here, because the decor and atmosphere is also very nice!

When I booked a curly cut with Jennifer, the online booking system was straightforward and simple. I was nervous to get a haircut in this Covid-19 world but I was very comfortable with the whole experience. I waited outside the salon until Jennifer came to get me at my appointment time and once inside, had my temperature taken and was offered sanitizer. There were plastic barriers hanging between the chairs and it was easy to distance from the other stylists/clients. Now for the actual cut -- OMG was I ever satisfied with the result! Jennifer was friendly and took the time to find out my hair history and what I wanted to do. During the styling process I asked some questions and learned about caring for my hair properly. My long, fine hair that had been limp and barely forming a wave ended up hydrated, shaped, and curlier than I'd ever seen it before. On top of that, the salon was nicely decorated and spotless. Since I trusted him, I finally agreed. I was disappointed that it didn't take the first time, and that it only dried out my hair. Mimmo told me to come in and he'd fix it the following week. Instead of discussing my hair situation, he permed it again!! Little did I know how damaging this is for curly hair. As time passed I was hoping it would correct itself. But sadly for me, It only became worse I called a few weeks later and discussed how damaged my hair is and how upset I was that I trusted his recommendation for a perm. Since I went back to him to fix it, and it only became more damaged I requested a refund as it states on his website if he can't fix it, you don't pay He refused to refund me the amount for the perm. Mimmo spoke to me at length and basically said my hair would not look good at that length and that it needed to be shorter for various technical reasons. I negotiated for it to be a bit longer than he was suggested but eventually I agreed to a cut that was far shorter than what I came in wanting. I absolutely acknowledge that I agreed. The trouble was he was so persuasive - he made me feel like my hair would look terrible if I didn't agree to let him cut it to the length he wanted. He literally gave me the feeling that there was one correct way to cut my hair and all others would look terrible. One doesn't want to force a stylist to cut your hair in a way that they feel will look awful, so I reluctantly agreed to shorter length. One week later, I'm miserable. It is far too short and I don't care for it at all. I am going down south short and by the time it curls up in the heat it is going to be SO short. Looking back - it makes absolutely no sense to me that he would say my hair needed to be this short to look good. I showed him a photo where my hair looked perfectly lovely a bit longer! I have had my hair in many slightly longer styles and been perfectly happy with it. It did not need to be this short to look good. For me this was a lesson in not getting talked out of what I know I want. I also think the salon should try harder to hear what the customer wants and deliver that instead of talking them into something they have stated they don't want. The hair does curl somewhat nicely and the styling products I purchased are nice. I am trying to focus on the positives, but overall I can't leave a glowing review because it is just far shorter than what I wanted. My feelings about the cut seem similar to the girl who left a review in 2019 and got a perm and wasn't happy. I will note I am leaving some positive comments as I don't want to be entirely negative. And yes, I agreed to the cut, but the point is that customers should not be talked out of what they wanted when they walked into the salon.

It is beautiful, the people are nice, and the vibe is not too trendy like you can find in some shops across town, but it is not outdated either. I think there is a very welcoming vibe in a somewhat timeless space. If you are in the area please check out this little gem. :)

I showed her an inspo pic and I already had a premonition that my hair wasn't thick enough to get the same effect, but she still explained how we can work with my hair type and get as close as possible. She didn't make me feel like I wasted her time and I was not disappointed with the results. Even if I were, she made me comfortable enough to feel like I could say something. I showed the stylist two clear pictures of what I wanted. She proceeded to cut my hair, from the crown down to the base, from 2 inches to a centimeter and a half!! Also the cut was not straight, it had dangly and hanging bits. This was NOT what I had asked for. I was extremely upset and flabbergasted. The stylist did not listen to me. Instead, I came out with an extreme 45 degree angled and graded cut. Was my hair cut down to the extreme due to the cancellations and re-bookings I had made? I DO NOT recommend this salon neither the stylist.
