I visit Flips very often as I work close by. Love the atmosphere whether it is out on the patio or inside. It's always nice to be able to go to a bar and be able to enjoy the drinks as well as the food. I have met the owners of this place, and they are genuine people. Very nice. read more

I got the Buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. The fries were delicious. Atomsphere was good. Tables aren't on top of each. Wish they would go to no smoking. The music wasnt what I would pick. It was 80's rock. But if you like 80's music, this is the place for you. read more

I visited this place and hit the patio on "Texas Thursday" ($4 Texas liquor and beer). I must say, Flips has a great atmosphere, and my waitress was very attentive and friendly. Ordered the Border Burger, fries, and two rounds of Revolver Blood & Honey. This was one of the best dinners I've had in a long awhile. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Nice patio, and decent burger. Though the happy hour featured $0.50 off draft beer? WTF why bother?

It's one of our favorite places to eat and drink there famous margaritas frozen. And the staff is very sweet , nice , awesome human beings!!

There is only one thing to say about the food at Flip's. Awesome! Everything is prepared with care and dare I say soul. I have never had a bad meal there. We go at least once a week and have never been disappointed. read more

I don't know why Flip's wasn't included in the 'Patio Sittin' Season' part of Yelp DFW. They have 'PATIO' in their name. And at the Grapevine location, its on the east side of the restaurant so the sun is not an issue. Great food (burgers, salads etc) and beer at decent prices. In a sector of town I refer to as "Restaurant Crossroads", and where I often say, "If you can't find a place to eat, you're not hungry", I would say the same thing about Flip's. If you can't find something you like on their menu, you're not hungry. With dozens of restaurants in the sector, there are only about 3 'Go-tos". Flip's is easily on that short list. read more

The food is great and inexpensive. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal there. I highly recommend getting the French fries.

Been coming here for years, but this the first time felt very uncomfortable, first thing when we sat down at a booth. A girl with pink hair came to greet us. Not with a warm welcome, but with a scowl that would make most men run for the hills. And said very rudely are we eating here. Not only did me and my companion not order any food, we felt compelled to leave due to how unwelcome we felt. Then she proceeds to inquire about past visits in a way that felt like an attack and said "oh its you" as if we're some scum that doesn't tip or treat the staff with disrespect. In a time where service is measured by an unfair balance of things that servers can't control. ( I.E slow service, wrong food or drink items) one thing that can and should always be evaluated on is the service you get especially for people that just walk into a mostly empty establishment. In past visits I've always felt welcome and well taken care of. If this is the future of this place, I can enjoy my beer at home. read more

I've gone to Flips for years! They have an awesome burger, best around this area! And the service is supreme! Of course I always ask for Sara, if she isn't behind the bar. She always makes our dining (and drinking) experience a lot of fun. I will agree with many others about the cig smoke. It does get a bit cloudy at times! I'm not a smoker, I'm also not one that judges others that do. We all need a place to enjoy our vices. Not many left for smokers so I happily endure the smoke, eat outside or order to go! Thanks to Flips and the staff. read more

Although the food was good you can't enjoy it due to the awful smell of cigarette smoke. As soon as you enter you are assaulted with the horid stale smell of smoke. It doesn't matter how far back in the dinning room you go it's still there. I will never return here again due to the smell. read more

Great place for brunch, lunch, or dinner and drinks. Spacious patio, and plenty of TVs is certainly a plus. The smoking inside is not exactly my cup of tee but its not a deal breaker. Most importantly, the beer is always ice cold! read more

The Manager apologized and changed their hardline policy. I came again with my daughter and friends several more times and we enjoyed ourselves. Love the big patio. read more

I really didn't think I should go here, it didnt look like a place I would want to eat, but I was wrong. Good selection of import beer and great country fried steak lead me to want to swing by again. The waitresses seemed to want to help us with good menu selections since we had not dined there before. I was pleased. read more

Didn't make it past the hostess stand. We tried to stop here to watch a football game. Unfortunately the overwhelming stench from the smoking section turned us away. We literally walked in the front door and it smelled like a giant cigarette butt. The smoking section may be encased in a glass room, but it is totally ineffective. read more

1st time. Quite busy on the patio Sunday before Memorial Day but dead inside. We were the only couple inside followed by a group of 4 a few minutes later. Jack and Sprite was good, not watered down. Ordered the Salmon w/ green beans and rice, ALL delicious! Girlfriend ordered Southwestern (chicken), very good as well! Although it took a while for our food to arrive despite an unpopulated place... Service and the outstanding meal made up for lengthy preparation. Finished things off with the Bailey's Cheesecake which was devoured in about 3 minutes by the both of us! We will be back! read more

I have been coming to flips frequently for a few years now. They have the best patio in the midcities/grapevine area! It's big, pet friendly, and full of mister fans and umbrellas. They also have the BEST Corona Rita's!! Food and service is always satisfactory. Overall, this place is very consistent and keeps me coming back. If you are looking for good food, drinks, and prices... look no further read more

Unfortunately, no matter how delicious the food is, it can't make up for the lack of good service. And sadly, the food was not that delicious- just ok. We scouted this place out for a work event and the manager told us that they are masters at handling large parties. Well, this was not the case. When we got there, there was only 1 server for 35-40 people. The manager had promised us a personalized menu and we never received one. The waitress we had was just awful- rude, blamed us for problems and even spilled a drink all over a phone and barely apologized. When we called to speak to the manager the day after the even, she claimed that she never got our menu item request (we sent her a screen shot) and even said we were too loud and it made another family leave- keep in mind this was a work event, in a small room with people mingling- why would you seat a party right outside that room? I will never return here or recommend. Avoid at all costs. I can see why our service was so bad as leadership starts from the top and the manager couldn't care less about our experience. Very disappointing. read more

Great service, coldest and cheapest beer in town ($2 pints), great food, and relaxed atmosphere. I love this place!

When you walk in the door you are hit with smoke because the smoking section is right there as you walk in and they leave the doors open to it. We went here for lunch one day when there were only two other tables - both in the non-smoking section so we didn't realize the set-up. We tried to go tonight but the smoke was so bad, even in non-smoking, that we had to leave. You could literally see smoke throughout the restaurant. It was a huge disappointment because the food here is actually good. read more

This place allows smoking in the bar area. As soon as you walk in there is an immediate smoke of fog. The non smoking area has the old smoke smell. We sat as far away from the bar as possible but left and did not eat cause it was so bad read more

Below average fare for Grapevine. Horrible location due to construction. Food is served awfully slow and isn't better than the best Chil's. Pass. read more

This is only a review of the burgers. My friend and I have both agreed that these are the best burgers we have had in Texas.

I have been traveling globally on business for 25 years and this is the worst restaurant / bar I have ever visited. In my opinion, the staff was prejudiced, unwelcoming to outsiders and simply an incredible awful experience. From a former restaurateur perspective, I would rate this bar a 1 on a scale from 1-10. I am still stunned 24 hours after my more than disrespectful experience. If you go there, make sure you are from Texas. They appear in my opinion to not like or serve anyone from outside the state. read more

Great place when sitting out on the patio. Food is good and service is always great. Sitting inside isn't my favorite. Even with the designated smoking section it's not good. read more

I love having wacky adventures. After listening to a lecture that spoke of the existence of Batsquatch, I definitely knew that I wanted to go to dinner with the group and get a chance to talk more about such things. So we were all off to Flip's. Flip's is a very unassuming place that has nothig stellar about it, and oddly enough, it was a great indicator to how the food would be. The whole menu at Flip's is pretty unhealthy and I'm sure nothing is sourced locally. I did not feel that anything would taste that great so I took the chance and ordered something basic, which was Blackened Fish Tacos. The tacos were tasty, but nothing stellar. I mean, they are definitely not Lee Havey's good. Looking around at the food others got, I was also happy I stuck with something a bit on the healthier side. The hummus appetizer we ordered first was just strange. It tasted more of navy beans but not quite. I dunno. it wasn't quit right at all. As the night wore on, I became a bit frustratede with how long it took for everything to happen. It took forever for them to take our drink orders, take the food orders, and the food came out of the kitchen way out of order which left my friend not getting her food until 10 minutes after we had ours and it turned out that the dish was disgusting and had to be sent back. Thankfully Flip's has amazing staff who really worked to give good customer service, but I think that the original waitress was just not given the staff she needed to help with that many people, and the kitchen let her down. read more

We decided to sit at the bar & have our lunch. The bartender was very attentive. We received our drinks & food quickly. As always the atmosphere is great as well as the food. We will be back next Friday! read more

Cold Guinness on tap, great Philly cheesesteak and great Cowboy Club! Ate outside because you can smell smoke from the bar when you walk inside. Outside seating was good at 8:00 pm and food was great. All outside seating was full and service was good. Wife and I enjoyed NFL Network and Rangers on TVs. read more

First time here and I will NOT be back. Food is barely average and service is terrible. If you are dining in Grapevine, do NOT spend your time and money at Flips. read more

Food is nasty and over salty. I have come here a couple times for lunch because its conveniently close to work so I have given a few dishes a try and they all failed, nothing special at all. Wont ever go back, hated it. read more

Went on a busy beautiful Saturday afternoon with 3 adults and 2 kids. Never been here before. So happy that we went! Food was great. Nice place to grab a burger, a beer and just hang out. No complaints from anybody in our party! Will be back. read more

The food is good, but not great. The beer selection is pretty good, but not awesome. The main draw is that you can smoke there, have an affordable cold beer and a shot, and you don't have to worry about a bunch of kids running around. It's not the cleanest of places, but I like it for watching the occasional football/baseball/basketball game and the bartenders and regulars are all really nice. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch, I've driven by a few times before but never stopped. GREAT decision! I had the Mac and cheese bites for an app and the French dip sandwich with onion rings. Best French dip I've had in a long time, super sweet and friendly waitress as well! read more

Excellent service! I travel all over, some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Real deal here.

First of all this was 2nd time to be there. The smoke is very bad but asked to be put way back in the dining area. No it was not busy around 5:00 pm Friday. Yes the bar area & patio but that is not unusual when serving alcoholic beverages. The waiter came & asked what we wanted to drink, we were looking at the menu, he came with the Ice Tea & water, we told him we needed a few more seconds to look. Lo & behold we watched him go back & forth with one table, back to the kitchen, walk around bar, go back , then out the door for I don't know what. We were still waiting & watching (10 min.) , deciding to get up & walk out. We asked for the Manager, he spoke with us & apologized asked if he could help but by that time we said no & left. Customer Service & paying attention to detail isn't like it use to be. 4/21/2017 read more

Steak is ok fries are much too salty. Dads steak was average and grizzly. Typical sports bar.Open late for dinner.

Great Atmosphere but food isnt good enough !!

So last night my boyfriend wanted me to try Flips and I said ok. When we got inside though, the hostess' was rude to us and when she took us to our table, she just threw the menu's there and then walked off. I honestly thought that was rude. Plus where we were sitting at smelt really bad. I was irritated by then. I ordered the turkey avocado melt and my boyfriend had the Parmesan chicken wings. My sandwich was good until my boyfriend showed me that his wings were raw and that made me lose my appetite completely. The tipping point for me was when the waiter spilt the beer all over me and my phone. The back of my pants were soaked, but everything was fine. The thing is, I've never yelled nor have I been so pissed off in a restaurant ever. I'm never coming back honestly. When somebody tells me and shows me that their food is raw, I tend to not come back. This is just the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant ever. read more

We went to the one in Fort Worth, in the middle of the day. It wasn't crowded, and the service was fast. I had a mushroom and swiss burger, which was very good. My husband had the steak - it came with mashed potatoes, no gravy, and they didn't even have any baked potatoes for the menu. Bread and rolls were not served. I guess since they are known for burgers, the steak was just an after-thought. read more

I have been to this location a few times and have always hated the cigarette smoke that fills the bar. However, my friends and I were here for happy hour during my latest visit and sat in the main dining area. The food was pretty good and the prices are decent, but the drinks were horrible. I tried 3 different drinks, all were watered down (even after happy hour) and not worth what I paid for them. I was with about 15 of my friends and all of them had the same exact complaints about the drinks (and everyone had different drinks). If you are going to serve alcohol and you want a lot of happy hour business, why would you serve such poor quality drinks? I don't think I will ever return here for happy hour or for drinks in general. Probably best just to come here for casual lunches. read more
