It's disappointing, because as a mom and toddler, we have to pay $94 a month for the family plan (it's cheaper for a single parent and child over the age of 5), and then all that is offered is a single swim class for kids over 6 months, then a single gym class for kids over 18 months. It's not until 2 that you really can start getting use out of more of the classes. We do love the pool. Open swim times are very limited, so it can be tough to get there. Then if you are with a child under 18 who needs help, you are stuck using the children's locker room. The showers take 5 minutes to get warm, and the swim team kids and their colorful conversations disgust me. I would love to have a separate locker room for young children from the one for preteens! I am happy with the fun zone. If your child is independent, they will have a great time in there. Though my child loves the pool, he cries at having to walk away from the fun zone to get there. There are days and times that are better to be in there, but overall I love letting him go in to play. The open gym is great! I hate that there is an extra fee to use it though. It really should be included in your membership. That and the pool is all that is available to toddlers. It would be like having to pay an extra $3 each time an adult wanted to go into the gym and workout AFTER paying for the membership. It's expensive, there is a lot to be desired, but there isn't anything better in Frederick.

I am ending my membership as I fear entry into this facility. It is sad and unfathomable that the YMCA appears unable to hire staff with simple customer service skills. I have been intimidated into quitting. It's not worth the stress.

We started a year ago, and my daughter has gained skills and confidence, thanks to the excellent coaching staff. Their professionalism and love for the girls is second to none. When the owner of the gym goes out of her way to make sure your child isn't left out, you know this truly is a family. I have seen the optional coaches help, correct and literally cheer on my child in the gym. I have watched xcel coaches do the same. She has never been told she couldn't try a new skill, but is encouraged to try it and feels safe with the coach(es). There is nothing but love for the girls in that gym. As far as the PA, they've been open and honest with the parents, as long as you read emails and check the Facebook page specifically for the parents. They hold meetings with the families to make sure things are clear. They dealt with the covid backlash with openness and worked with the parents to keep costs low. And believe me, the costs are low compared to other gyms! This is the best gym, and I am so thankful we made the jump!

She was actually bored by January and kept fighting me on going any more because they weren't challenging her. I was told they work on those skills in the summer, and yet they were at the gym for 12 hours a week, doing the same thing over and over. We finally withdrew the week before states because of lack of management and they wanted an additional 500 dollars per gymnist. This was not in any contract and there was always another fee.

Matt (Mannick, DPT), my therapist consistently combined clinical skill with a calm encouraging manner. My concerns of being a 77y female who was minimally to moderately active were concerns of being treated as 'old' were immediately removed. The programs Matt designed were respectfully age-related still challenging strength, balance and endurance so I could safely continue doing the exercises at home. My presenting symptom ( sciatic pain) was treated swiftly allowing me to continue my activities without pain. And additionally he got my frequent sense of humor comments. My experience is with the Frederick location. However, want to say the population in Hagerstown and surrounding area are fortunate to have Matt available to you at the Willamsport location.

With that original call I was immediately scheduled for at least a month, maybe two. When I arrive for my schedule appointments the front line staff checks me in quickly and notifies my therapist. Pretty soon after, my therapist comes to get me and we begin. Zach, is my therapist and I'm very grateful to have him. From the start, Zach was very personable. He makes me feel comfortable and always has a great plan of action. When I started at R2P I could barely drive my car and I definitely couldn't walk up stairs. Now, I can drive my car for hours at a time and I'm almost back to walking up stairs normally. Zach has a very good treatment plan for me. He makes me put in the work but I never over do it. At the beginning of the session I don't think I'm going to make it through but at the end I feel really good and I feel like I accomplished something. Bottom line, I would definitely recommend R2P to anyone trying to get back to regular activities or to any sport.
