    Vegetarian omelette

    The food was good and the service was fast. I had the veggie omelette, a nice combo of sauteed veggies and goat cheese. The pancake was thick, flavorful, and cooked well. I had a coffee drink called the honey bee with honey in it. Total bill was about $20. Would recommend

    This place is just wonderful. It has a calm and cozy atmosphere and vibe when you walk in. The staff are warm and welcoming, ready to help. Now, I love a good breakfast and brunch place, especially when it isn't a crowded chain place. This place fits that bill. It is a local place with two locations. The menu is brilliantly "evil" making it extremely difficult to choose just one dish to try. They all look amazing and delicious, so of course, you will need to visit more than once to enjoy all that they have to offer. During my visit, I tried their cinnamon roll pancakes with eggs and bacon. Oh boy are they incredible! The pancakes just melt in your mouth, full of flavor. The eggs were a classic standard of scrambled eggs and the bacon I ordered crispy as I like a good crunch. My companion ordered the Hobo Scramble and just loved it. She made sure to take some home to enjoy for a second time. All in all, I enjoyed my experience and look forward to my next visit and delicious meal.

    Early morning visit to Ames. We decided we were hungry. This was close and we had not tried it yet. It wasn't even 9 am yet. The parking lot was pretty full. This building is surrounded by motels and lots of parking. We walked in and were greeted with smiles. We were sat immediately. One of our table had to use the bathroom before we sat down. The door needed a little special handling to make it shut properly. Back at our booth we got menus. We weren't really thinking about going to a chain. We know there is another in Altoona, but not sure of any others. The restaurant has a casual, cozy atmosphere and serves breakfast and lunch. There are some traditional dishes on the menu and then there are some delicious looking options on the menu. I really was looking at some really rich options but I was really liking the idea of egg Benedict. Some popular dishes include chicken and waffles, cinnamon roll French toast, and Cluck Cluck Skillet. The blueberry lemon looked good too. Couple people at my table mentioned the King of the Hill. I decided on HIPPIE BENNY: Hickory smoked bacon, avocado, sauteed onions, field greens on English muffin topped with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and everything bagel seasoning. I have never had field greens on breakfast meal. It was definitely different. I really enjoyed the flavor of the sauteed onions. My eggs came with a side of fruit. It was a really good cut of fresh strawberries. Everyone else got really good looking food. Both the men at the table got a side of biscuit and gravy. They did share they were a little bummed that there was no meat in the gravy. The waitress checked on us as we enjoyed our meals. It was all really filling. I could see the kitchen window from my seat and some of the dishes that came out were huge! I think that I would visit again. I would visit the one in Altoona too.

    I love it here!!! A must when I am in Ames and needing breakfast. Usually has a line, but wroth the wait. Super cute and insta worthy

    Cute little diner in Ames. The waitresses are really friendly and there's lots of seating inside. They take Apple Pay too! I got the Country Benny and it was pretty good. Very flavorful and creamy gravy. The poached eggs were very overcooked though. Not runny at all. The sourdough muffins were really nice! It had a pancake-like texture. I definitely recommend getting the country potatoes too.

    This place is fantastic. We have been here several times since our kid started attending IA State University. It can get very very crowded and it seems like the wait will be hella long but it always seems to work out amazing. They say 20-30 mins and it ends up being 15. Not that they estimate it wrong they are just that good of moving people through and to a table. Which is always clean and with all the things you want to start diving into. Coffee, sweetener, utensils and coffee! Did I say coffee? The coffee is great, I'm a snob. It's always fresh and they top it off politely so it's not all messed up. Haha. I love their Nova Benny! It is so dang good I crave it and wish it were in the city where I live but it's not. My kiddos love the biscuits and gravy, egg breakfasts and so does the hubby who is always very critical to having to wait and we calm him down and say, just wait... it's worth it and so far... we haven't been wrong. Be patient and you will get what you are asking for. Great breakfast, lunch hot, fresh and great service! Best in town in my opinion. I'll take more pics next time. =}

Wow, it is a lot more than a quick breakfast at a gas station! The kitchen was complete and had a full menu offered up. It was also a commercial bakery... multiple bakers working on cinnamon rolls that looked divine! I had a breakfast quesadilla. It had real flavor in it with candied jalapeños. It was a lot but judging from all the plates I saw come out of the kitchen everything there was solid in serving size. The chai latte was good too. And the folks were nice. They definitely have loyal fans locally, folks were ordering for tailgates!

Disappointed to say the least, I came in the back door not realized there was a correct door and was rudely cut off by other patrons at the front desk. I had to wait several minutes to be waited on and the place had plenty of spots. Maybe because I was a party of 1... they didn't seem to care. After I shared what drink I wanted, I learned they were out... fine no problem. I asked about the Thai specials, the waitress was clueless. I had to ask for the restaurant week menu and ask about the specials. She said they looked good but couldn't describe them and hasn't tasted them. I got the salad on special, but get this... they were out of the main restaurant week special... such a let down. The ambiance was mixed, one corner was a cute date night the other corner was crying children. All dimly lit and outdated decor. The whole experience was off, I ended up leaving after my one drink and salad. I hope to give this place a second chance sometime but hope they aren't out of dishes and I can get a trained server. Maybe another night for sure!

The chefs clearly love experimenting, offering a creative fusion of flavors that blend different cuisines beautifully. Whether it's a twist on a classic dish or something completely unexpected, everything is prepared with care and a true sense of innovation. Me and my significant other both ordered the Feta Cheese w/ Honey, Herbs, and Pistachios + Bread as our appetizer and for main dish we ordered Korean Steak & Egg that consist of soy/ginger marinated hanger steak with kimchi fried rice, and arugula with sweet chili aioli, and sunny side egg on top. The only thing I was a bit disappointed was that the kimchi didn't have the actual kick and true kimchi flavor but it was still good! Pork Belly app: thick cut pork belly in lettuce cups, topped with sweet thai glaze, pickled carrots, onions, celery, mint, thai basil, cilantro, scallions and crushed peanuts. A tad sweet for me but overall this was a great app. Slice of Sourdough: delish. Chicken Japchae: since my mom has celiac disease, we were very excited to see this on their menu - dining out with her can be a challenge. Especially at a place specializing in breads! The only unfortunate part about this dish is (I think) they forgot they already salted the chicken and salted it again...and then again. I'm not one to say something is too salty, I love my sodium but this was mouth-puckering salty. Inedible, actually, but the noodle dish itself was SO GOOD that she set the chicken aside and ate the entree. NY Strip Steak: perfectly med-rare, served with a garlic-rosemary potato pavé (like a potato casserole of sorts), roasted broccolini and a house steak sauce that was similar to a demi glaze. Not a bite left - no leftovers with this one. I ate the whole dang thing. Myself. And I have zero regrets. Crème Brûlée: I also couldn't leave without ordering a crème brûlée because there are some really bad ones out there. This did not disappoint. I also took home a Dubai Chocolate tort, Raspberry Crumble and a Flourless Chocolate cake. ZERO regrets but if you love Dubai chocolate then you know there are some discusting renditions of this in the market. However, the Dubai chocolate tort at Provisions Lot F is .
