This review is a bit over due. I am new to Utah and was looking for a new dedicated place to do my nails. I found it in Flip Flop Nails & Spa. I've visited 4 times since November and all I can say is great things about this place. A friendly staff. A beautiful and clean shop. And great work overall. My go to is Jade. She's great at asking me if I'm good with the shape and length of the nail, she knows I like my nails short. She's upfront about the cost and is very precise. I've been treated well here every time I've come. I know they talk about people we all do and I'm okay with that. I know I have funny looking almost no toenail's on two of my toes. This place had pretty good ratings, but it just didn't quite hit the mark. I wanted a couple different colors, and the actual gel polish swatches didn't match the actual colors at all. They filed my nails down super short without asking and the shape was pretty inconsistent. The whole manicure took about 15-20 minutes and it felt really rushed, like they were more concerned with getting customers in and out than giving a good quality experience. When I get my nails done, I want to feel pampered and relaxed, but I didn't get that from here. read more

I've been going here for a very long time and have decided I will never go back. The last time I was there I had to tell my nail girl to change her gloves. She went from someone's pedicure, directly to my hands without changing her gloves. As I sat there I watched, every single tech did the exact same thing. Polite and took a walk in but: (1) why, when there is a row of at least 15 chairs open, do you need to sit the 4 pedicure clients on top of each other, side by side - not only is it less peaceful but seems ridiculous in light of COVID; (2) the prices have gone up but the nail polish offering has gone down with only CND + a super small, super old, not great colors OPI selection; (3) polish was dull, clumpy, looked my kid sister did my nails, and was chipping by day 2. read more

It was so painful she didn't even file them to look nice . She burnt my fingers under the light. Will never recommend this place to anyone. And I talk to 20 people a day at my job. This place used to have nice, professional staff but not since my last 2 visits this year. The lady who did mine was in such a rush that my nails were not even properly trimmed! The massage didn't feel like a massage at all, it was so light like she was just literally applying the lotion to my skin! Took my 5 year old son here for his first pedicure. We both got the deluxe pedicure and were very pleased. The lady that did his was patient and kind. She answered all his questions (there were a lot) and she even took the time to trim down the temporary flip flops for him since they were too long and he couldn't wear his shoes out. The only drawback was that he didnt fit in the massage chair but they had a nice big pillow to put behind him so he could reach. Clean, Comfortable, Great Service! First time coming to this salon and it did not disappoint. The salon is clean (they use disposable liners and gloves) in addition to having a good selection of nail polish colors. The staff was very patient with my kids (specially Kyle) and they also did a good job on our classic mani/pedi. One thing I wish they had asked us if we wanted any design on our nails as I was planning on getting them for both myself and my daughter. Despite this small flaw (hence the 4 star rating), I would still come back to this salon since my kids and I had a good first time experience. read more

So happy this place had opened. The minute you walk in the door you can see the attention to detail and sanitation. The pedicure bowls are not only lined, but the water circulation devices are sterilized after each use. There are several equipment sterilizers visible allowing adequate time for the process to occur. I loved this place! I tried it out for the first time today and it was amazing. Great service, they offered water and coke! Most places wouldn't do that. The place was clean, nothing dirty. Everyone was super nice, I got a pedicure and everything was the 10 out of 10 experience that I was hoping for. The chairs gave a nice massage and you could control the temperature of the water. What I liked the most is that you got to choose the scent! (many choices like tropical, orange, mint and cucumber) I chose tropical and it smelled great, better than expected. If you are trying to find a nail salon with great service and a nice place this is definitely for you! Found nothing that I didn't like about this place! I was really pleased with my first experience at this salon. It's clean, bright, and new. My second experience was disappointing to say the least. I came in right at opening before many people were there and said I would like a pedicure and dip on my nails. The woman started on my manicure first and tried hard to convince me to do a base layer of dip with shellac on top- I told her I would rather dip because that's what I like and she pushed and pushed and pushed, "it's so much better" so I went with her recommendation. Of course it was $5 more but oh well no biggie if it's so great. She sliced the skin on 3 of my nails during her filing and efiling. I went to wash my hands and got back- she told me I scrubbed too hard and made myself bleed...no you cut me when you filed me, but I wasn't going to make a big deal about it. Then she asked "Do you like it? It's so light and nice?" I said it looked nice, but I don't like how with shellac you get uneven color tone and brush strokes, which is why I really like the dip. She got very quiet and irritated and said she could take it off if I don't like it. I said it was okay and I was fine with trying it but would probably not do it again. She then told me because I was a walk in and not an appt my pedicure will be a wait now. And she stayed quiet and awkward the rest of my service. My manicure had air holes all over and was so uneven and looked really bad to be honest. And she had too much ego to be professional with any sort of criticism. I didn't just start griping either, I simply answered her questions honestly and she was so unprofessional. I'm including pictures of my manicure so you can see how much it lacks. I'm giving two stars because my first experience was great with other nail techs. The dip I got here before was fantastic and they fit me in for both services no problem and I was thrilled the first time. But just barely was not good at all. Very frustrating to spend money on a bad service and not feel comfortable with giving honest feedback and getting that response. She appeared to run the place too. read more
