This quaint little bakery is the cutest touch to Chatham! Stephanie and Liza are amazing hosts, and answered all of our questions! We picked about 5 different pastries (although we wanted many more)! They are all scrumptious and Stephanie and Liza made our experience that much more enjoyable!!!!! :) read more

Fleur de Sel - strawberry Mille-Feuille, raspberry mousse, chocolate banana tart - Bakeries Near Me - Chatham, New Jersey

I came here earlier today for the first time . Before coming in , I had the idea that there would be a more bountiful selection of French items . This place mainly has expensive coffee drinks and nice looking desserts . I ordered the cafe mocha , it was over $4 for an 8 Oz cup . It was really lack luster honestly . I like supporting local businesses but I was not thrilled with the product . I feel like I could have went to my local coffee shop or Starbucks for the same price and a better cafe mocha . read more

This is the real deal. Having lived in France I can say this is as authentic as it gets. Fleur de Sel leaves nothing to compare also with the best Patisseries in Manhattan. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality justifies every penny. read more

A much needed addition to the Chatham food scene. My husband and I love Liv Bakery in Millburn, and we had been talking about how great it would be to have a new cafe/bakery in town with really good baked goods/pastries. So we were super excited when we saw that a patisserie was opening up on Main St, and Fleur De Sel has certainly exceeded our expectations! I sent my husband on Mother's Day to pick up some croissants and pastries...he went right when they opened and was met with a 30 minute line, and croissants and most pastries already sold out! Fortunately they still had cakes and tarts, so we ended up having desserts for breakfast :) For Father's Day, I preordered a chocolate scotch cake, and it was to die for. It was perfectly light with just the right about of subtle sweetness, and you could tell they use high quality chocolate. It was so good, I could've eaten half the cake in one sitting. We've subsequently gone many times and have found all their offerings to be fantastic. Their croissants in particular are phenomenal - the best we've had outside of or on par with ones we've had in France. I hear the zaatar ones are good, but we haven't tried them yet because the cheese ones are just so so good. Our only complaint is that we wish they would open earlier! We have an early rising 8 month old, and especially with how hot it's been, our morning walks happen around 8 every morning, and I would love nothing more than to be able to pop in and get a croissant and coffee to start the day. But I guess maybe it's for the best, otherwise we might be putting on the Fleur De Sel 15. Thank you for your amazing pastries! We can't wait to one day be able to enjoy a coffee and baked goods in the beautiful space! Thank you read more

A little taste of France in the heart of small town Chatham. It has been 4 months since my family and I moved to Chatham and Fleur De Sel has been my place to dine and unwind. I usually come in the morning to grab my usual: chocolate croissant and a cappuccino. It's the most perfect and simple breakfast one can ask for. And their croissants are exquisite...flaky and buttery. It even still tastes amazing the day after. Aside from the croissants, they also have a great selection of pastries. Although I prefer my Laduree macarons, the macarons here are probably my second favorite. I wish they make more rose flavored macarons (seem to have discontinued lately), but some people find it an odd flavor. Their mille feuille cake is to die for. I ordered a few cakes for special occasions and it has been a hit among family and friends. They also offer catering services if you need to host any parties or events. When I say this place is very French, you know what I mean. It's je ne sais quoi. read more

I love this place. The Lemon Meringue tart is so good! I have ordered it several times for holiday occasions. I have tried several other bakeries in the area, but none seem to compare to Fleur de Sel! read more

Their service is really lacking. I've gone in many times and the owner is only friendly to people she knows. Also, we went in after seeing a Facebook post saying they have extra preorder cakes only to be rudely treated and told "no only preorders". Go to Liv breads in Millburn where the pastries are excellent and the service even more excellent. read more

This spot should definitely be added to "must try" bakeries in Chatham area. Beautiful new business with phenomenal French pastries all baked on premises... and their nitro infused iced coffee was Amazing! Had a wonderful conversation with the lovely owner also and the staff was great! All around great experience! Don't know who would have anything bad to say// read more

A real gem. This is not the typically good suburban dessert shop where they have a few good ingredients, and then proceed to put them in all their desserts. The desserts at Fleur de Sel are distinctly delicious, with flavors that complement each other very well. Each piece is made of good quality ingredients that are thoughtfully combined to create something that is almost greater than the sum of the individual parts. I don't remember the names, but here's what we had: Mango passionfruit coconut dome - mainly passionfruit, with mango subtly coming through, delivered by a creamy texture. The coconut bits added a nice bite + textural contrast. Excellent. Chocolate expresso - very chocolatey, on the sweet side, but not quite milk chocolate. Can use more espresso, but good overall. Chocolate sesame tart - great texture, almost cookie-like. Chocolate + toasty sesame combined together very well. Caramel saint honore - good puff pastry, great caramel flavor without being overly sweet, which is something where most places sadly fail at. Price is on the high side, but these are high-quality ingredients with a lot of thought and technique put into them. read more

5 stars for pastries and coffee. Oh my god-- this is the best coffee ever and everything they make is beautiful and delicious. HOWEVER, zero stars on service. They're always standing behind the counter looking miserable and do the very bare minimum to be friendly. Like every single one of them. I can't count how many times I've struggled to get in the door with my stroller and 4 of their employees stand behind the counter staring at me when they have no customers. It's bizarre. They also don't play music in the shop so it's silent and awkward. Get your shit and get out of there!! read more

Absolutely delighted that this patisserie and bistro has opened in Chatham! The macarons are so light, delicate and delicious. And unique flavors like lavender and rose, as well as old favorites like chocolate, pistachio and raspberry. The chocolate hazelnut cake is so decadent. The croissants are light, flakey and authentic. I can't wait to try everything there! The space is so elegant and welcoming, too. I can't wait till I can meet friends there and linger over a cup of coffee! Such a fantastic addition to Chatham's downtown!! read more

What a treat that we now have a touch of Europe on Main St. in Chatham! My family & I lived in Germany for a few years and we have been missing the delicious croissants & pastries from there. When we visited Fleur de Sel we were so impressed by the elegant atmosphere, the friendly professional staff & most of all the flavors that brought us right back to Europe! It is great to see businesses starting despite the difficult COVID-19 times we are all facing! Of course there is a limited menu due to these circumstances. I can't wait to taste all of the delicious items that will be added in the future! Already looking forward to my next cheese croissant & pistachio macaron (my favorites)! read more

I'm so happy to have Fleur de Sel in town. We've been a few times now and everything in the store is so delicious. My 9 year old even said the Strawberry Daquoise was his favorite dessert of all time. It's really a unique bakery that you don't expect to find outside of a major city. read more

We enjoyed our fresh, elegant pasties here yesterday and took home goodies for Sunday breakfast. It's been a long wait for a European Cafe/Konditorei to return to the area. How great to see the customers arriving to enjoy treats in house as well as those going out the door at a good clip. We were equally pleased that the plates, cups and utensils are compostable. That quality of single service supplies is expensive and we appreciate the eco-sensibility. read more

Wife placed an order on Thursday for pick up on Saturday. They didn't have the order on Saturday and told her then, that email would have been better. They never told her on Thursday to email, rather they told her "all set" and took her name and everything. Then they denied even taking a call order on Thursday. Not running a tight ship over there. read more

Love this place. All pastries baked on site. Chocolate eclair, lemon meringue tart, and mille-feuille are favorites so far, but so much still to try. Opened last week, in the midst of a pandemic. The line was out the door this morning, down the street and around the corner. It's a testament to the quality of their work. Lovely people. Meticulous attention to detail. read more

An excellent addition to Chatham and now a family weekend favorite. Fleur de Sel is not quite the real McCoy (quite in italics) but it's hands down the best in the area and a very good show of Patisserie. Its Kouign Amann is the star - perfectly sized, delicately sweet, and never over baked. So nice to see this Breton delight appear on the menu. Yum! read more

I've been here several times and have never been disappointed! The Memorial Day cake was a huge hit.... as were the tarts, cookies and iced tea! The place is beautifully decorated which will be wonderful once the COVID restrictions are lifted and we can all congregate and enjoy some delicious pastries together. Kudos to Fleur for opening during a difficult time and raising to the challenge. read more

Pastries are very pretty but kind of bland. I tried two different tarts and a cookie. Very basic flavor options (chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, etc.). Was hoping for something a little more creative for the price. read more

Too pretty to eat - the pastries here are truly works of art.

I'm very excited to finally have a bakery that serves savory food! The pastries, quiches and cakes are amazing but their croissants are just out if this world. I can't decide which ones I like more - zaatar or almond croissants! They look beautiful, smell divine and are delicious! One bite and I feel like I'm in Paris ! read more

A welcome addition to downtown Chatham! Not only is the space pretty and immaculate but the pastries and coffee are some of the best in the area. We have yet to be disappointed - from melt-in-your-mouth macarons to buttery croissants. The staff is warm and friendly and the service is speedy; there's usually a line but it goes quick. Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend morning than taking a walk to Main Street for iced coffee & a croissant! read more

Fleur de Sel is a beautiful new patisserie in Chatham serving up some of the best pastries you can find in the area. In our neck of the woods, we have bakeries in surrounding towns but none like Fleur de Sel, which brings the quality and experience to a higher level. They aren't quite running at full capacity given the obvious current global pandemic, but your patience will be rewarded once you try anything they have to offer. A weekend visit required a short wait before entering the store (two patrons at a time) to a friendly staff with gloves and masks to keep everyone safe! My family members all enjoyed the pastries with Chatham neighbors walking by commenting on how delicious everything was when they tried it. We enjoyed it so much we placed an advance order via email so that our friends and extended family members, in neighboring towns, could try some. Hassle free email order with multiple payment options and we'll coordinated pickup schedule by the owners! Great addition to Main Street with great pastries and friendly staff. We'll be visiting often! read more
