I had so much fun, I plan on coming back. We went on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too crowded, so there was a lot of room to skate. Locker rental is $.50. The rental skates were in good condition. I honestly thought they would be worn down and in bad shape. I was pleasantly surprised at their condition. The rink floor was clean and a joy to skate on. There were really good skaters, as well as beginners. No matter what your skill level is, you will enjoy. Go. You will have fun. read more

This is a great place to skate. Tuesdays nights are the best! I go there to practice skate.

Love this place! Don't know why people are leaving bad reviews. They have good food and it's so fun to skate there especially with the 90's music so relaxing and they sell accessories so cute! They never disappoint!! read more

This place is Racist. It's just that simple. They put me and my mother out because I had on a beanie. I told them it was my religious and spiritual tradition but they did not care. Keep in mind my mother and I are experienced skaters with our own skates. We skate at all the major rinks in the city and suburbs from The rink on 87th, Markahm, Glenwood and Lynwood rink. I'm accepted as I come at all of those places except FLEETWOOD. I will never go there again. This happened 3/16/19 BTW. TO THE Referee that hurt himself after putting us out get well soon and remember. God does not like ugly. read more

I forgot that I was an amazing roller skater. It just doesn't come up often enough to keep in the forefront of my memories. So this place gets two stars for existing and a third star for being cheap. ($10.50 entrance + skate rental) It gets a third star for letting me watch little kids fall down all night. Nothing is better then a little kid falling on his face and then 3 more little kids piling up on to of him. Amazing entertainment. read more

Oh hell's yeah. My friend and I were talking (more like reminiscing) about the good old roller skating days. None of this roller blading or roller derbying but roller skating. One fine Friday night (okay, just last night), with nothing to do, the reminiscing thought popped up and this time, we decided to do it. From 7:30 - 10:30pm each Friday, there's three hours of open skate for 8 bucks. Three hours for 8 bucks! If you need to rent skates it's an additional $2.50. Not bad. Additionally, the water and snacks you'll have to refill yourself with due to the sheer amount of roller energy you'll be exuding are extremely cheap. It's like I'm in 1989 all over again with the prices! I love it. Some things to be forewarned about: 1. As you age and haven't skated in about 20 years, you realize just how much you suck. That whole thinking of you can always ride a bike does not apply to roller skating. 2. When you fall, it isn't like when you were young and you bounce right back. No sir or ma'am. Instead, you must deal with a throbbing knee and hyper-extended elbow for the rest of your night. 3. Watch out for the super cool skaters who can do dance moves while skating. I have total respect for them and am scared to death they'll plow into me. Fun times! read more

It was ok. Pretty old place. Skates are disgusting Lol. I wouldn't return but will def check out other Roller skating places.

Let's get the CONS of out the way.... the floor is small, the system isn't great and they don't employ DJs as such (except for occasional parties and *maybe* they're gonna have a weekly 18+ JB session). Also, if it's crowded it takes an absurd amount of time for the line to move and despite my complaints, the rink costs more than others in the area (MLK and The Rink). Also, the skating isn't super advanced for those who are trying to copy moves. You know what though? The PROS are that roller skating is good times and my parents live close. I don't even totally care about any of those cons. If I had a car I could be choosier, but I don't so what? So Im gonna bike my ass down archer avenue and skate to some kiss fm music whilst dodging kids, toss my heavyassed skates back in my bag and go home. read more

Ever want to relive your childhood? here's the place! So spurred by the yelp event for skating, a few friends and I decided to go here instead. nicer neighborhood. I dug out the old skates I had from my childhood (yes they still fit. I have small feet) with the hot pink laces and we headed to the South Side. So this place is $8.50 for 3 hours, but oddly, you have to be buzzed into the skating area. Anyway, we get inside and no one is skating, but eventually it picks up. Unfortunately my old skate lace broke, so I had to buy some there. They were $2.50 and thread thin. But I suppose all skating rinks are kind of a rip off. So anyway, the fun begins, and magically all of my skill comes back to me and I did great! It was actually a lot of fun for people watching too. We had fun making up the life stories of people skating, and enjoying traditional roller rink food. Nothing like a pretzel with cheese! I was waiting all night for the backwards skate and 4 corners, and as I'm taking my skates off, they announce the backwards skate. So I missed out on it, but for any of you who live the dangerous life, Backwards skate is at 10pm. I wish we could have played 4 corners. That would have made my night. They even played some old hall & oates and disco. Classic skating music! I had fun! And some of the people are really good, so its entertaining to watch too! read more

I thought roller skating would be like riding a bike. Who cares that I haven't done it in 20 years? Children do it, right? Well, yikes bikes, y'all--this is harder than I remember. But I digress. This place is clean and well-maintained, which is a little shocking considering its age and the children that are everywhere. I took my Girl Scout troop here for an outing--we got a group rate and had a good time. I'd recommend this place for something similar like a child's birthday party. The only negatives: The rink referees or whatever they're called get a little crazy shouting at kids for going too fast (come on, let the kids play). And they constantly make announcements over a speaker system that sounds like the adult voices on Charlie Brown (womp womwompa wom). read more

As a 25 year old going roller skating for the first time in nearly a decade with fellow 20-something friends, I probably shouldn't dock Fleetwood any points for the abundance of obnoxious children spotting the rink floor like little human land-mines. I mean, if they catered exclusively to adults, who typically prefer more booze-soaked activities, they wouldn't make any money. But still. Children, ugh! My main complaint is with the music. WHY SO MUCH SLLLOOOOWWW R&B??? R. Kelly (or whatever, I'm dating myself) is not skating music! Whatever happened to the chicken dance? The YMCA? The macarena? And why in the world did they play the Cha Cha Slide? "Slide to the left" is not exactly something one can do in roller skates. read more

Pros: -the guy on skates "refereeing" was fantastic and helped me limp off the rink -the guy behind the skate counter was hilarious Cons: -the food is less than mediocre -only skates, no blades? Is this 1958? -very cramped space. We had a private party with approx 40 people, and the space around the rink was sooo small read more

Yay! I AM a fan! Okay look, I am a child of the 80s. I spent many a rainy Saturday or birthday party whizzing 'round the rink at Skaters World in Wayne , NJ. Not that I was ever very good at it, but I could go around and around without crashing into too many things. However, it's been at least 16 years since I last tied on a pair of dirty brown skates. But when a friend suggested it as a way to celebrate another friend's 30th birthday, I was all over that shit. Open skate is from 7:30-10:30 and will set you back about $10 including skate rental. And yes, the skates are brown with orange wheels- not much advancement in rental skate style over the past 2 decades. We arrived at around 8:45 or so, and the place was PACKED. We could barely walk in the off-rink area and the rink itself was crowded as well. My first pair of skates had a busted wheel, but once I got a pair that worked, I was skating around like I was back in 6th grade. I'm a firm believer that roller rinks should only play 80s music, but no such luck. I can't help it- Dannity Kane just doesn't move my feet as much as Duran Duran, but I guess you gotta give the people what they want. I also could have done without the Cupid Shuffle, which really just cut into my skate time. But hey, some people seemed to enjoy it, and they're probably there a lot more than me. Speaking of which, they must have leagues or teams or something, because there were a bunch of people in their teens and 20's ripping up the rink like nobody's business. I could see just hanging out to watch them all night, they were really good. I'm not sure I'll be able to wrangle anyone into going with me again, but I'll sure try. After all, I'll be turning 30 in just a few months. . . read more

My boyfriend doesn't know how to roller skate and this place was helpful and convenient. The onlyw bad thing is that it's crowded with kids falling in the middle of the rink, making it hard to skate.... and because it was majority kids, kids would never listen when it was a time for a certain group or if they told everyone to go up against the walls. I understand it's a kids and family place, but parents should really watch thei kids closely to make sure they're not getting hurt or something read more

We had a great time! Fantastic wood floor, cute concession area, friendly staff, inexpensive and easy to park. We will definitely go back. (music could be louder though)! read more

I've never seen so many lights at once until I came in here, there are many bright lights to bring out an 80s feel. Renting skates is about 12 bucks, if you look in Groupon you might be able to find cheaper options. There's a mini food court which is always nice. The only thing I don't like about this place is the crowdedness.. there's people skating every square inch by you. A girl had to get take away on a stretcher into an ambulance! I was so confused. And everyone just kept skating like nothing was going on. So strange! To be honest wouldn't everyone rather be ice skating In this season? Like why is the rink so crowded! There's barely any room to breathe let alone skate. And the staff are a little rude, they are a bit demanding with their orders and look like they're having a horrible time. I hope that the next time I come back here, the experience will be more fun. read more

I had a private party here for my daughter's 7th birthday yesterday. There were almost fifty of us, about half beginner skaters. Everyone had a blast. The service was exceptional. The gentleman who was handling skates and music was friendly, talkative and super helpful. The woman who served the food and drinks was also the best, really on top of it, helping out every step of the way. It's rare nowadays to see so many dedicated people. The establishment is very well kept and clean. Skates are new. Pizza is pretty good. I have no complaints myself and have been receiving texts all last night and this morning from family and friends about how much fun they had. The Birthday girl also had a great time and has thanked me non-stop for the 'best birthday ever!'. Thanks Fleetwood!! We'll be back for sure!! read more

My girlfriend fell over and the staff was quick to help her back up, great environment and cheap skates

It's cool here. I come often to skate. And love the free slice of pizza you get. Kids may go to the wrong way. But that's why they have people out there trying to make sure everyone is going the right way . Fun place! read more

I really want to love this rink. They play great music, while most rinks play top 40 on repeat this place plays some really great lesser known artists that are amazing to skate to and the staff is friendly. However, the biggest factor in a rink is the floor and this skate floor is covered in old bubblegum. If you skate on your own kit, beware. Every time I skate here I leave with my nice wheels caked in gum and filth. Would definitely raise my rating if they could keep the floor clean. read more

Fleetwood Roller Rink - Indoor wheels covered in old gum after one session at Fleetwood - Skating Rinks Near Me - Summit, Illinois

This place is great. Such a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. I had my 45th birthday party here in December and had all of my friends and family come out. It was a blast (possibly the best birthday party I've ever had). They are a little hard to get ahold of by phone sometimes (it would be great if they had a digital system set up for party reservations), but when I did finally get to talk to them, their customer service was incredible. read more

Great place to skate. Rental skates are on the lower quality end but roll smooth. Although there may be little children falling all over, it is not as bad as most say. It's really a fun time! read more

This place is neat! Very colorful inside, the music was pretty good. The food court items were a tad small compared to the prices tho. They did have a variety of items including candy which was cool. read more

I'm so glad that they have kept this rink open for so long, Its the most fun because I don't even realize I'm exercising, I have younger brothers and sisters whom Ive come here with, Good clean fun. And just knowing that my family of the future with generations after generations will also share the same experiences. I forgot to mention the have a speed team and artistic classes, the coaching is really second to none. Most of the veterans have competed at Nationals over the past 1/2 century through today. So thank you, all that are responsible for keeping a quality facility with an educational lesson in family, health and competitiveness alive.****** read more

By Far Thee Worst Customer Service and hospitality I have ever received. We threw a birthday party for my boyfriends 30th birthday and were expecting 300+ guest to arrive and guess what FLEETWOOD WAS DOING? They were denying our guest at the door and one of our guest over hears the owners/managers making racist comments cause the some guest were hispanic. and making excuses to not let them in. Ummmm excuse me my guest just over heard what you said about US MEXICANS. Extremely ignorant and gave us a flier that stated we were to receive 10% off our event and nor did they honor that. They are nothing but a trashy venue with extremely poor customer service skills. I suggest to not go there and go some where else. read more

Attended the "Time Hop" event. Throw back to original roller derby rules. Fun stuff! Rink is clean and well maintained for an older building. read more

If you are coming here for a private party (not open to the public)..enjoy!! It really hasn't changed that much over the years (which is pretty cool). It's just a great old time roller rink. The skates aren't in the best condition but you could bring your own. They have a concession stand that kids love (hot dogs, nachos, pizza, lots of candy). There are employees (that are real nice) that skate out on the floor and monitor the crowd. It's not expensive, and they have lockers to put your things away. I personally only visit for a private party because open skate is just way too crowded. They also offer skating lessons on the weekends. read more

Besides the fact that their skates are older than me, it's a fun time. It's close by, cheap, and clean. Great place to have a party or just bring the family. read more

i made the mistake of coming to this rink on a saturday afternoon. totally packed with kids birthday parties. will have to come back at night. as a former roller derby skater, i found my skill set and ability to dodge fallen kids very helpful. the rink was clean, the staff nice and professional...even if they DID have to tell me to slow down quite a few times. read more

Gathered a bunch of friends for my birthday to come here. Very glad we we chose this place over the Rink. The Rink looked sketchy. Fleetwood has a clear entrance and we knew where to park. The place was a bit warm and I don't know if that's cause skating is a lot of work or the AC was just on low. Luckily they had slushies to help cool off! If you're looking to go skating near Chicago this is the place! read more

Haven't been roller skating in a long while. Last place in the city was the defunk The Rainbo Roller Rink up in uptown. Well I took my daughter her for her birthday and I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't overally crowd and we had a blast. It was clean, and cost was cheap for a group of 2 adults and 3 kids. Parking was ok right in front of the buidling and a parking lot across the street. Food wasn't great just enough for a snack n a drink to cool you down. Would definately do it again. read more

The place was very small and crowded. They need an age restriction for certain times of the day. It was too many skaters on the rink and it could have been enjoyable if it weren't so many small kids rolling around. I understand they want it to be family friend establishment but at least make where the skaters can enjoy it. It was not fun constantly dodging toddlers and preteens. Great place to take small kids but not good for adults trying to enjoy a night out roller skating. read more

I went here for an event and confirmed the fact that I am not a good roller skater and scream like a ninny often as I am wobbling around and almost falling down. The rink itself is fine for me, since I am not a pro at all, and can almost fall down and scream to any old music on any old floor. I went with my now 9 yr old "Little Sister" (through Big Brothers Big Sisters) and she loved it. I will check out ones in Chicago, as they would be closer for me. read more

So I come at 940pm. I go to the booth with my niece (7 years old) and ask for some tickets to get in and the guy and lady are like you sure you want to come in? You only have half hour to skate. My niece is already ancy ready to go in and I'm like sure why not, so I pull out my wallet and say sure 2 tickets please. And the man has the audacity to say oh sorry were not selling tickets anymore. U know what if you didn't want us in in the first place then say so u bastard!!! Why would u kill my nieces spirit ?? Never will I ever step a foot in this place! I'm sorry I'm willing to spend my money for my niece can have a decent time even if it was just for a half hour or less! I'm so disgusted. U want to go skating people? Go else where these guys are rude and need to change their attitudes!!! read more

I organized a birthday skate party here last month. I had a great time. I chose this rink over the others in/near the city because of the photos on the website. It looks just like it did when the rink was built, the exception being the addition of black carpet with neon designs. I was hoping for hairband music but got current Top 40. I was also hoping for games like limbo but was told they don't do games. The staff was very friendly. The rink floor is in great condition. The little kids who dance in the middle are really good. I think it would be better if they served beer, but I guess that might make skating more dangerous.... Go to Halina's down the street for a few before the skate. read more

This place was real cool. I wish the DJ would have shut up instead of giving us a 5 minute countdown for the last 45 minutes they were open. It was really distracting! However, since its an A-OK place, I would return with the nieces, hopefully they will have an MP3 player going instead of the DJ! read more

First time here. It was my sons birthday. At the last minute he decided he wanted to go skating with his friends. My son and his friends had an awesome time. I would definitely come back. The staff was all very nice and helpful!!! Definitely will be back with more friends. read more
