I phoned Fleetwood prior to an auction inquiring about sales tax on items shipped out of state. They indicated the 6% sales tax is charged on all items unless you possess a PA tax ID #. This is in clear violation of tax law as stated on the PA Tax Revenue website, as follows: "...if the retailer ships the property or has the property shipped to another state, the purchase is not subject to Pennsylvania or local sales or use tax, unless the property is subsequently brought back into Pennsylvania." All I had to say was "you might get higher bids if you followed the law" and he hung up. I definitely won't do business with them. read more

Do not buy anything from this auction house if out of state. Poorly wrapped my desk and lost vital pieces in the shipping. It was just placed in a pallet without a strap. Not only that, but they didn't even weigh the thing and told me the weight. Shipper said it was an extra 130lb's and are now charging me another $220.00 for shipping. I even made sure to get a shipping quote and weight before I bid on the item. I now know why they only accept direct deposit and make you put your own business down as the shipper. These guys completely screwed me and now I know it's not the first time it's happened. When I called them the proprietor Rich was making excuses saying he was on the road when he told me the weight and wasn't able to properly weigh it. He also said he wasn't the one who put it on a pallet and that ups must have? Bull(caugh)... When he found out about this review he called me multiple times and when I called him back he took zero responsibility and even threatened to leave bad reviews on my business. Avoid like the plague. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE TO BUY OR SELL! THE OWNER IS A CROOK! I've both bought and sold items here and have learned that the owner bids up merchandise to fatten his commission. He also puts his own items in auction and outbids others if he doesn't like the prices the item(s) is/are fetching. Most of the items are broken and he won't allow customers to test them. He has sold items of mine that I've been awaiting payment for for over a year and a half. I'm STILL waiting and he won't respond to my numerous emails and phone calls. BUYER/SELLER BEWARE! THE OWNER IS A CROOK! Update: 4/2/15 Since the owner has decided to comment on the validity of my review please check the Better Business Bureau's website and do a search for this "business." I would not purchase anything that you have not fully inspected from this auction house. I would not do any business with them again. I purchased a piece of art through an online auction from them. The art showed up with a hole in it that was not disclosed. The art was listed as being in good condition / undamaged. I spoke with multiple people at the auction house about a refund and/or return. They first said they would give me a partial refund that I could use to try to have the art repaired. Then they backed out of that and told me they would like for me to return the art for a full refund, but they never followed through with that promise either. This took about 6 months. Finally, I realized they were not going to stand behind what they sold me. I think Rich whom either works there, or is the owner is a liar. I caution anyone that is thinking about doing business with him. He is the one that I was in contact about the damaged art. read more

The auction appears to be a great deal but when you go to pick up your merchandise it is damaged, broken, or missing. Owner is untrustworthy and doesn't accommodate pick up times besides a window of time that all have to pick up at one time in a warehouse where you have to walk through a narrow walkway to carry your purchases. Definitely do not have handicap accommodations here. All the purchases I have bought have had some type of damage or parts missing. Last auction I participated in 2 major winnings are missing and 6 months later he either isn't there or he can't find them. Made 4 trips trying to retrieve my winnings and had the person running a business in the front part of the warehouse tell us off and said he's not here so stop coming without calling because he is rarely here. Some of the high end pieces I purchased at a lower price mysteriously disappeared and a refund offered after we traveled 50 miles to pick it up. This has happened numerous times and all you get is a refund because the item was worth a lot more and suddenly it is lost. Then you see it months later in another auction. All I can say is this guy is a crook. He doesn't even deserve one star but because his dad who use to work there deserves the one star for his honesty. Buyer beware, run as fast as you can, there are much better auction houses out there. read more
