Took my father in twice to sell his gold and silver coins. My father has been a customer before and is very comfortable with Howard. He was very welcoming and spent a great deal of time with him. My father was pleased to relive some of his stories too. And of course, what he got for his coins helped him out. Recommend Markham. read more

Our visit with Howard Markham was most pleasant, easy, and fruitful. No pressure, no rush. We brought a variety of items, some of little value, others of enough value to motivate us to sell. Two things especially impressed us: 1. Our treasure was very small, yet we were treated with genuine friendliness and respect; 2. Markham expressed concern that what he offered for one item might offend us because it might hold strong emotional attachment to our lives. We considered this very thoughtful. We felt we dealt with a man who knows his business as well as how to show consideration for what little treasures mean to people. read more

Markham Numismatics Coin Appraiser - Gold Buyers Near Me - Riverside, California

Recently Howard from Markham numismatics came to do an appraisal of a collection of my coins. I was amazed at how quickly Howard was able to assess what coins were worth more than the straight value of other coins. I felt it was a very fair assessment and was happy with the money that I received from Howard's work on my collection. read more

I had a brief experience with this dealer for a couple days. Exchanging texts messages. Although Howard responded in a timely manner, he seemed a bit arrogant. Texting is very questionable at times, but lets just say that his comments could have used some polish. He effectively took the wind out of my sails. Good luck read more

Seems only interested in big money purchases. Not one for small collectors or small items

I've been selling to Howard for many years and he has never disappointed. His quotes have always been fair and I will continue to take my coins to him. read more

Howard purchased coins, jewelry, and even a pocket watch from me. I learned so much from him, like how many jewels a pocket watch should contain to be worth buying or collecting, or how much an old $2 bill is worth today (spoiler: two dollars). Call Howard to set an appointment; he is very knowledgeable and will give you decent rates for your old jewelry and collectables. read more

I have known & sold my items with Mr. Markham over the years and have always had very easy transactions. He is very upfront and honest with me about my items and doesn't sugar coat it. He has helped me with tons of questions I have about different items I have acquired over the years. I love that I am able to email him as I travel often and am not always able to make it in. I always schedule an appointment ahead of time to make sure he is at his office. I highly recommend coming here for a more personal touch. read more

Howard made this process easy and stress free. He is very knowledgeable and offered a fair amount. He was both punctual and professional. I would highly recommend his services! read more

Howard made me a low offer that I declined. 2 hours later I accepted an offer for $600 more, a 40% increase. In addition my buyer offer $300 for coins Howard didn't want. A $900 increase. Bottom line, have an idea of your value and get multiple offers. read more

My family and I took in our coin collection to sell. The owner, Howard, of Markham Numismatics was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and considerate as he took the time to go through each of our coins He gave a very fair price for our collection and we were all very happy with the outcome. We have since returned and sold more coins and will be using this company again in the future.. read more

I emailed Howard this afternoon with some questions regarding gold coins. Within minutes I had a reply from him asking me to send clear photos of what I had. I sent the pictures to him and again heard right back. Of course, I then had to think of more questions and got them answered quickly. It was so easy to work with him. He wasn't making any money off of me, yet he invested his time into answering all of my questions. Thank you, Howard! read more

Professional and friendly. Knows coins and will give you a fair market value for your collection. Highly recommended.

Our experience the two times that we recently used Howard Marham have been excellent. He is professional, ethical and very knowledgeable. We just read the reviews below earlier and cannot understand the low ratings. We will return to him and use his services without reservation. read more

I just completed my third transaction with Howard, and I cannot for any reason understand how or why someone would leave a poor review. These other reviewers must be trying to sell Howard some cheap garbage. My transactions with Howard could not have been easier. Simple email, quick response, text pictures, meet at office, sell coins. Thanks Howard, I look forward to future transactions. read more

I sent Howard pics and he said he would need me to come down so he could look at them. They were boxed common boxed proofs and just wanted me to show up so he could lowball me. Was told he would pay me 9% UNDER spot and then lied to me about the spot price which i checked before I left. Had one coin he said was worth $50 and I took it somewhere else and got $650.00 for it. This Howard Markham clown wanted to buy my coins for next to nothing. Knew nothing about what I had and a flat out LIAR. These kind of self proclaimed coin dealers are nothing more than Tics On The Ass Of Society!!! read more

This guy has no business ethics or manners. After inquiring about pictures of my coin, Howard proceeded to insult me and tell me I should go back to the previous person I spoke to and sell it to them. This guy should find a new job if he doesn't know how to handle customers. Furthermore his knowledge of coins is horrible and very unprofessional. This man clearly has a temper that's not worth working with read more

Not really a fan. I felt the proprietor was rude and pushy. He scoffed at my silverware and said "there's nothing here" if someone offered you money for this just take it. I'm not sure why he set the whole container in his lap as he rapidly made piles on his desk. Smacking his lips and shrugging. He said they are worth almost nothing, I smiled..."I've looked up several of the values..." "...this is silver but the weights nothing" correct..I sent pictures...you knew what I had before I came, why waste my time. His office looked like a hoard it was very unprofessional and if I ever had a coin collection to sell I would not ever choose this dealer. He must know something about coins, his office was packed with them. Clearly he knows nothing about flatware.. read more

I posted on this site a few weeks ago. Where did my post go? I have checked my other reviews and they are still there. I think there is some funny business going on with Yelp and this service provider. I have never had a problem with this guy and have been dealing with him for years. I have bought several items over the years and have always been satisfied. read more

The process could not have been easier. There was no extra paperwork or waiting. It was much quicker than the chain store and better payout, too. I am very happy and will be back. read more

I purchase artwork and collectables. I've made 6 purchases here from Howard. All have been great finds at great prices and Howard is delightful to work with. My most recent purchase was actually appraised at a much higher value than I paid! I will always look here first when I want something new to add to my collection! :) read more

My wife and have never sold rare coins before and were in search of someone we could trust. I researched the coins I decided to sell and had a discounted figure in mind. We made an appointment. Howard Markham met us at the agreed upon time. He evaluated our coins and came very close to the amount I had researched. I feel we were treated very fairly and we will return. read more

this guy is the man I went to only two places, a cash for gold and this coin shop. the cash for gold prices were ok but I had a feeling these old coins were a little more valuable. After meeting with the coin dealer he spotted one of my coins right away as a much rarer coin. Basically I was offered double then the original quote I got. So I am very happy I got double but I took away a star because I wanted more :) read more

First of all, this is not a store. It is an office in a building which has a sign on the door that says "By appointment only". When you call no one picks up, you have to leave a message and someone will call you back. They only sell silver and gold in quantities of $10,000 silver and $25,000 gold. Don't waste your time is your just a buyer of smaller amounts. read more

Went there to sell my collection and was pleasantly surprised by the offer. He was very cordial and knowledgeable. He also researched the items he wasn't sure of and offered a fair price. I will definitely go back to this place. read more

I found Mr. Howard Markham to be prompt, fast efficient and fair. I called on Monday expecting at least several days to a week wait for an appointment. He was able to see me the next day and he arrived early. He was efficient in the way he sorted through the items I had (coins, gold, silver, jewelry and paper money). When asked of the value of some coins he explained today's value as well as future projections. Having done this for 25+ years he was able to quickly look at the coins, etc. and determine their value. Having looked some of the coins up on EBay his prices were in the same range without the hassle of listing them and waiting for them to sale. He was able to quickly look through the jewelry and determine a value of if it was costume. All in all a very pleasurable experience would definitely give him a chance especially if you live in the inland area. read more

DON'T come here. This place offered me the lowest price on my grandfathers watch. Bunch of Penny pinchers.

I've been doing business with Howard for years. His honesty and integrity is unparalleled. He's one of the few (if any) people in his field that I trust to give me the straight scoop. The people that I've referred to him over the years are always impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. read more
