The person…read morethat answered the phone who I later found was the owner was sure he could help so I went to the garage and met Tim a friendly and helpful sort. He did have a battery terminal and as I pulled the money out of my pocket which was $25.00 asking how much he said $25.00 seemed like a lot but you never know. I looked up the part online and he charged me about 3 times more than I would have paid elsewhere. I feel that I got ripped off. I feel I was knowingly ripped of . But the true loss is his because I have a Passat that needs repair and I thought I might bring the vehicle there. So he lost that business ,and his showed himself to be dishonest.

This is a known issue - this generation truck HATES aftermarket security systems, and it was causing all kinds of problems, so we asked Toads to remove it. He was familiar with this issue, also said he'd look at the starter, and would let us know. I don't know what time he starts work, but he called us to pick up our truck at lunchtime Monday (we dropped it off Sunday night.) Let me tell you, the cost was BEYOND reasonable. I kind of wish I had more wonky electrical issues in vehicles, because they do such nice work.
