Mark Blote, the proprietor is very knowledgeable a to the entire line of firearms, including the Henry rifles. Not knowing of these facts, I certainly became most familiar with Mark's expertise in a short amount of time. Mark provided the utmost assistance in providing me a Winchester 'Classic' at a most reasonable price (New in the box with hang tags, and associated paperwork). The age of the bolt rifle was a 1994 model (unfired); "Almost unheard of". There are many who purport to state the condition of a firearm as to be 'new' or 'unfired' but are merely trying use the terminology to entrap others. In this respect, I was somewhat hesitant to place an order for a firearm in the aforesaid condition which is almost non-existent. I decided to take a shot (No pun intended) and ordered through First Stop Guns. The initial conversation with Mark was very professional, as we discussed the Winchester. There were no hidden facets as he specified everything clearly. At the outset, I believed Mark based upon his character, for character defines a person. Upon receiving the firearm (Bolt Action Rifle), I was totally taken as to the condition upon opening the box. Inspected the bore, the bolt, checked the three position safety, the wood (Straight grained walnut), checked the weight and length, breech and muzzle. In reality, I was trying to find a fault which I could not. Absolute pristine, like it was just purchased. Surely, this has to be a find which rarely comes along in one's lifetime. This business consists of people knowledgeable with the underpinnings of firearms which is not for the faint. All emails and phone messages were answered in a very timely fashion, and Mark was very efficient in assisting me. There certainly are not many, if any who deal in iron that shall bring this type of management to the forefront. Again, this business consists of people who are not the mainstream white collar clientele, but they provide their services to such. To meet someone with Mark's stature is surely refreshing, knowing the business as I. We would highly recommend First Stop Guns to everyone searching for a fine, quality firearm or collectible, along with the entire gamut of firearms. I'm truly glad that I found a person that understands the true qualities of fine firearms. Thank you very much Mark and we hope the best for First Stop Guns, now and in the future. * Have a great time in Uruguay and most importantly, keep the faith.

They've been raising their FFL transfer fee for a couple years now- it was $25 in 2024, then $35 in 2025 when I picked up a 1911 I shipped to them six months ago. I went in today and they've raised it again. After tax, the $35 fee listed online cost me $42.54. Not a big deal, but when I pointed out it had gone up again, the rep tried to lie to my face and insist that it had always been $40, even though that's facially untrue. It's such a small thing to lie about, I can't help but worry they're lying about bigger stuff, and I've just dodged it thus far. So yeah, the FFL fee there is whatever the rep decides it is when they get to you. No: they won't have that info public and they're fine lying to you to close a sale. Just go to Scheels or buy online.
